No attack is too powerful for Darkbot to handle, he can absorb them with his own Dark Pulse and increase its power!

darkbot is not just a killer though, he also knows how to love:

So, I tried to draw out a humanoid jackalmon using a Dark Pulse attack....and the only thing that came out as planned was the Dark Pulse.

http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t301/Topaznut/Anubiscorpion.jpg

So I had the attack being charged up by the ankh - then I realized I failed at drawing hands, so I made the ankh be the hand. Then I failed at drawing the upper body and made it way to bulky for a jackal, so I decided to turn it into a back view of a quadruped instead - I threw in the ankh on the tail for the hell of it.

So, yeah, jackalmon became Anubiscorpion. It's crappy quality and is unlikely to be noticed or anything....but I'm hoping that at least someone will notice it and make their own version that actually looks good, so I'm posting Anubiscorpion anyway.

A few more sketches. They're based on a Chupacabra, a pot, and a narwhal. Also I haven't abandoned the ant-eater. I'm just cycling through ideas right now.

I like Kai7735's idea of using a snake. They seem to fit dark because of their classical connection with evil in myths. Snakes also seem to fit ground because they tend to seek out sand and rocks in order to warm themselves, not to mention that they are so low to the ground.

Cyzir's potmon is really cool, but not quite evil enough, IMO. I think if you just changed the eyes it would be great. Ground sort fits, since it could be earthen pot. A chupacabra is tricky business though, since there's no real consensus on what one looks like... Drill narwhal is also cool.

Cyzir, I like your Chupacabra best out of all your designs.

Mastadi, I think a good thing you could do for your concept is make it a bit more tapeworm-like. It's got a little of that vibe, and a tapeworm/snake is... an unpleasant thought...

Bugmaniacbob and DarthVader317, I think your designs are too close to being actual animals rather than Pokemon. Not so much for DV with the new fur patterns, but BMB, yours could just be a gila monster. I barely see any change.

MonkPaint2-1.jpg

I really like this concept too. I think that it needs a different face though, and perhaps more defined hands. I double the notion of something that blocks status on it, too, like a breastplate.

Also, I just noticed this jewel;
buffalolarge.jpg

I want to see this colored!!!

This is also amazing
ruffy4.jpg

However, it seems more like a prevo than a fully evolved pokemon. Perhaps you can make a grown up version, since I love this concept so much?

This is aggravating me, when you say to change the face, what exactly should I change? Sharper teeth? Angrier eyes? Flared nostrils?

Poke25, i agree with darkchicken on whats your best one, it seems to fit the dark part more, and i just plain like the looks better.

Goodness, it seems that everyone has a bunch of good ideas. It's really tough for me to pick a favorite out of what everyone else is doing, so I'll just give a run-down of what I'm liking that I have not already commented upon and what I have to say.

@ Doug-just-doug

I don't really want to use the word "cute" here, since that was obviously not what you were going for. However, I just can't get over the round shape and the pissed-off look. Nonetheless, your reasoning behind what you did with the deisgn is very sound and makes the design make all the more sense.

@ CyzirVisheen

Quite frankly, I like all three of the designs. They ALL are astheticly pleasing and they all work well with the typing. Whichever one you ultimately go with is up to you and I don't really have a favorite out of the three.

The narwhale that digs through the sand with its drill rather than swims through the sea is a very interesting and clever idea. My only thing is that I would like to see its entire body... though this is mostly out of curiosity, since we don't see the lower half of him. You can make him like Diglet and Dugtrio ultimately, but, like I said, I'm curious as to what's hiding underground.

The chupacara design is the one out of the three that gives off the most "dark type vibe" since it looks like some sort of semi-demoic creature. I also picture it as having a darker coloration for some reason, although that may not be what you have in mind.

The pot... well, like I said with Doug's buffalo design, I don't really want to use the word "cute" since that was not what you were going for, but the small-size in comparison to the other two designs and the facial expression on both the criter peeking out of the pot and the pot itself makes me tempted to use that word.

@ Kai7735

I am liking the simplicity of the design and I think you should keep it that way. It would kinda go with the simpler designs of the first and second generation Pokemon. Like I said about Cyzir's narwhale design, I'd kinda like to see the rest of his body just because I'm curious, but you don't have to have it out of the ground ultimately if you don't want to.

My complements to the three of you as well as those I (briefly) mentioned in my previous post.

My concept of a Ground/Dark Pokémon. Non-coloured sketched image here.

I was going for a mole kinda look cause they live underground and in the dark ^^; But somehow it feels like an alternate Sandslash... maybe I shouldn't have added those spikes...

I quite like the design, Sandal8, although it would work better if it had 2 arms IMHO. You could try using dark gray or blue for the main body, and brick red for the rocky parts. I'm assuming it's partially underground?

The spikes look fun, but a little bit fuzzy; I'd make them sharper or drop them altogether. Just an idea, though. What animal is it?

^Yes, it's partially buried. I was messing around with arms; I wanted it to feel "hollow," with some little critter living inside a coat of sand shaped like a serpent. Sorta toying with the idea that it can sprout more arms. I was thinking sandstone-brown for the body with brick-red gravel; I'll definitely give gray-blue a shot. Thanks!

^Elegy: Could you define the eyes a bit more clearly? Maybe pupils?

Here is my croc...

StupidJPEGDarlGroundCrocmud.jpg

Crocs are notoriously fast, contrary to what it looks like. Also Crocs may represent evil, cause theyre big and carnivorous. Also Crocs bask in muddy water, not just clear water. So, ourmore emphasis on the mud and it becomes Dark Ground

Please Comment,
this took a hell load of time, cause I use ms Paint. Also I saved it as a jpeg so I couldnt fill color without a bunch of random bitmap conversions.

Cookie if you understood that

Alright, I have updated it. I believe it to be my final, but will change if you guys give me good ideas... or i might try recoloring it and see what it looks like.

So, what do you guys think?
