Whalnar?

It's the result of reversing the two syllables of Narwhal (Nar - Whal). Not very creative but I like how it sounds. Maybe even vary it to Whalnor or something.

Armadrilln

There's lots of ways you can see this..

Armageddon + Drill (you'll see where drill fits in)
Armour + Drilling (with the a instead of our in armour + the second i and the g knocked off in drilling)
I'm a Drillin' (with Arm instead of the I'm to give it more of a Texas pronunciation. The second i's knocked off 'cause it has to be)

Gydisril

(jee-diss-rill)

Ge+Dis+Drill

Ge - Root meaning earth (GEography) [Ground]

Dis - Alternate of Pluto, lord of Hades [Dark]

Drill - Um, duh.

Edit: post #123 lol

Heh, looks like most of us are going to fall into either the 'narwhal' or 'drill' base camp.

What about Savadrill? It's rather straightforward for a Pokemon whose design doesn't leave you guessing as to what he's all about. Also, you can't say it without saying 'Savage' and 'Drill'. It's a 'savage drill', guys, and the large mammal attached to it is merely ornamental...

Similar to my Terrawhalno? I think the "a" makes a difference since it makes the word flow, and again, terra can sound like terror, attributing CAP9's Dark-type.

Nardrill - Narwhal + Drill (Sounds too much like Beedrill, though)

Whaldon - Whale + don [Assembled with "tun" in tunneling?]

oops somehow i missed ur post sorry :p, urs is better anyway

Kujira - Japanese for whale.

Rikuro - Combination of Rikujou (Ground) and Kuro (Dark) in Japanese.

Terrai - Terra (Earth) and Kurai (Dark).

Escuro - Dark in Portuguese.

Just to let everyone know, names with foreign roots have won a whopping 1 time. The main reason is that they don't usually flow, and the meaning is too convoluted. In short, keep it simple!

If you think Terrawhal is a bit too foreign because of "terra" the name can be reversed to the opposite: Terrowhal. Basically the same thing, but using "terror" and "narwhal", where "terror" alliterates to "terra," instead of the other way around.

More submissions later most likely.

If its over 10 letters, just pull a Feraligatr (Feraligator)!

Whale in many languages, to get the brain pumping. Credits go to Moby Dick, p.xiv.

Latin- "Cetus"
Anglo-Saxon- "Whœl"
Danish- "Hvalt"
Dutch- "Wal" (Mart lol)
Swedish- "Hwal"
Icelandic- "Whale" (So that's the origin of that word, huh?)
English- "Whale"
French- "Baleine"
Spanish- "Ballena"
Fegee- "Pekee-Nuee-Nuee" (Seriously)
Erromangoan- "Pehee-Nuee-Nuee"

Off the top of my head, I think of...

Bruntus (Brawl+Cetus)
Drilleine (Drill+Baleine)
Earvalt (Earth+Hvalt)
Tunball (Tunnel+Ballena)
Trunball (Trudling+Ballena)

And then there's...

Grunwhal (Ground+Narwhal)
Narbrawl (Narwhal+Brawl)
Narwhaia (Narwhal+Gaia)

Tell me which one is the best. Others can use my ideas, too. Just give me credit. :)

Diggum (well, it digs)
Drilbit (like drill bit, but smashed together)

That's what I have for now. Personally, I'm a little tired of the overcomplicated "x aspect of CaP but rooted in another language + y aspect of CaP relating to its actual visual design combined into one word" naming process. I'd like to keep this one simple and to-the-point.

Bruber

Pronounced brew-ber

Bruiser and blubber

Brubore

Brutish and bore

im liking the word bore for this cap. I'll ruminate on this.

Borewhal

Narrakota

(Narwhal + terra + corruption of terra cotta)

Terravage

(terra + terror + ravage + savage)

Monterron

(Monodon; genus of narwhals + terra + terror + n)

Eh, had much better name ideas in mind for the buffalo....

I like this. Simple, straightforward, and rolls right off the tongue.

Malarichtr

"Mala" is meant to be a variation of the first part of the word "malicious", an adjective which seems to suit our evil little Narwhal just fine.

"Richtr" is referring to the Richter scale, which was used to measure the magnitude of earthquakes. This fits our Ground typing and part of our movepool.

Edit for 10 letter rule.

If its over 10 letters, just pull a Feraligatr (Feraligator)!

If this is referring to me, I have no idea what to take of while still making it sound like Penetration, but not making it look too muck like it either.

Also, just as a note (to everyone who thought this), I did not intend an innuendo by making Penetracean sound like Penetration. Seriously. I didn't. I just thought "Penetration=dig=yes!". So, sorry about that.

And Pekee-Nuee-Nuee is the greatest name ever.
But really, my favorite of yours is Narbrawl.

I think Narbrawl is an excellent name for this cap. It seems to be something that would brawl rather than finnick about like a Medicham for instance. I think the powerful forearms give me this impression. To me the name is also very authentic sounding I find most pokemon names are composite words and are often two syllables. If mine doesnt get nominated i will definitely vote for this.

Im echoing Tennisace i think the innundation of scientifc sounding words dont work for this cap at all. This CAP is a bruiser a brawler.

Narwhallop/Narwallop/Narwhalop

All obviously being combinations of narwhal + wallop. Meant to follow in the vein of Narbrawl, which I rather like myself, and simply use a secondary word where the splice of the two words flows a little smoother....and honestly, Narwallop just sounds epic, in my rather biased opinion....
