Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

My advice is set up shop again. If you need to advance an odd number of frames (like from 1 to 26, which is 25), I suggest you release a runner and journal flips only. NPC movements are too much of a bitch to use nicely, unless I've missed a new development.

Ok, that sounds good. So if I wanted a really good cresselia too could I just leave it roaming after rng abusing it to catch some other time after I've got the weavile and when I can be bothered?

Yeay you can but don't forget that it automatically advance the frame by 1 if your abusing Method 1/Method J, so if the starting frame is one, because of the roamer it you'll be adding another frame making starting frame 2.

Question:
Does any AR code effect your delay on Plat.?
I keep getting even frames without my GBA game and odds with it inserted...
But the oddest part is, the Delay augments incredibly slowly compared to that of Diamond (this is my first Plat Abuse).

Like for example augmenting the timer by 0.01-0.03 would advance my delay by 2 (usaly).

For Plat. well I almsot need to advance it by 0.1-0.2
If AR's does not effect the delay then im fine..because I did get the delay I wanted at the end, but if so, id kinda consider my Pokemon as hacked since the AR modified my chances of getting the Pokemon I wanted.

AR doesn't do anything like that. I think you're just paranoid :P I've done it both ways using plat, with AR inserted and without, and I used the same delay in emloop for both. I haven't found it any easier to hit a delay with it as compared to without it.

XP Your probably right. Iv'e tried removing some of the codes, and evrything seemed still normal...tough I couldn't try without the AR either since Im not far enough to check delays with lv.50+ Pokémans, it still bothers me a little that my Delay is constanly even now...when usaly it's odd...but when I insert the GBA slot in, it does the old switchero..even if I don't have access to palpark in Plat. I dunno maybe I am being a bit paranoide...=o
I just don't want to play the game, then realise that my wondercard Pokemon are influenced by the AR. XP

My delays have been like that for every game I have. My platinum has even delays, insert a game and they change to odd. My diamond is the opposite of my plat though. I think most people are in the same situation, it's just not dependent upon the AR though.

Ah! All right, my previous plat was odd, anywho, yeah I think I might be a little overreacting thanks for the heads up! =P

@I've finally found some matches for the IVs

Frame 42! And that only if you got your parents the wrong way round...

Frame 8227S. This seems most likely, if your timing was badly off.

The rest are all over 50 minutes.

Edit: In RNG Reporter, if you enter your baby Pokemon's IVs into the boxes in the main window you can search for them, since it's done so that As and Bs in the spreads match all IVs. Set starting frame 0 and max results 999999 and it should work. I didn't realise it would until I tried.

frame 42 doesnt make any sense since im waiting for a time of over 3 mins before pressing A
and 8227S does seem to make sense but how can it be that I'm pressing A at that spread?
That spread is about a minute earlier than the one I'm going for and I'm pretty sure i'm not pressing A a minute early

any other theories?

Personally, here is the way I liked to do it --

I always generated a CSV file and opened it in notepad. You can do this from RNG reporter (suggest split spreads, and then right click your thread and center to one minute). Then open that in *notepad*.

Now when you check the IVs of a Pokemon you hatch (and sadly this really only works well if you can get exact IVs) you search for non-inherited blocks. For instance if you parents are:

31/31/31/31/31/31
31/31/31/31/31/31

and you hatch:

10/20/31/10/31/31

search for

10/20

Then you can manually check to see if that 10 matches and usually figure it out from there.

Good luck.

Quick question about the Regi's (Rock, Ice, and Steel). Are the stats/shiny/etc all set once you have stepped on all the panels, or is it when you talk to it? Just want to know so I can plan accordingly.

I have no trouble hitting the seed but whenever I do the clown waits for AGES before moving and when I collect the weavile it turns out that the frame is way over 26 (always 33 or something). I think I'm doing everything right; the game starts on the journal and I flip into my 'Sneasel was caught' pages 12 times and I wait for the clown to move once which should hit 26. Does something else advance the frame in the massive time it takes for the clown to move or am I just doing something stupid? Would changing the time I go for make the clown move earlier or should I take my business to another pokemart? This just seemed like the best one.

Kind of late answer, but it's because the clown is making a lot of 'null moves'. The RNG is called, and the result means the clown stays still - but the RNG still advances.
Someone mentioned NPC movements (whether or not they actually move) happen about once a second, so you could try waiting that length of time - adjust slightly if you still miss your frame. Or as was mentioned, release a roaming Pokemon if you can.

hi i was wondering if anybody could help me ive been trying to get a shiny origin form giratina for a while now and the fact that ive been using the rng program and the shinyfinder program to try and do this but over or undershoot the seed and emloop does not work out for me at all.

so my main question is what is the most effective way to rng abuse to get the shiny giritina and also what software should i use

Hi guys!
I´ve decided to learn now how to hatch perfect Pokemon. But I still have problems (I already now how to rng abuse for all legends and wilds). So the Smogon guide says in the part of "Frame calibiration phase:

6.Turn on your DS and set the date to at least two days after your current date. This will ensure that the Journal comes up.

My Question 1a): If I set the date two days after my current date, does a page telling me "You have defeatead..../you have caught..." have to arrive? Or do I need a page without these messages? Or doesn´t it matter what page will arrive?

next question:

7.Reset your game, and then immediately cancel the Journal and collect the egg. Remember to speak to the Daycare man as quickly as you can as the frame starts to increase as soon as the Journal is canceled.

--> 2a) Can I make a little break after I hit the continue option (meaning while the page appears)?
2b) I also recognized that the cowboys often move after I hit the continue option and before I speak to the day-care man and the rabbit in day-care also has different positions (sometimes inside its house, sometimes near the fence). Does this influence my frame calibiration?

8. Encounter a wild Pokémon as quickly as possible.

--> 3a) Can I also fly to another town to encounter the wild Pokemon ( I thought of Route 226 as these Pokemon are level 48+ and I don´t have any Rare candies to check IVS)

9. Select "Breeding (DPPt)" and then click "Generate" with this initial seed.

--> 4a) SO after I caught the Pokemon, I first have to use the "Find intial seeds by stats" option on rng reporter to find out its intial seed, meaning I also have to write down when I entered the game world?

These were my question and I hope you can help me.

i am trying to see what my delay and seconds are when i soft reset and i got a lot of different results by this i mean that my delays are usually the same and my seconds are off (got my ds synchronized to a clock)
and i thought the problem was that i didn't use a sweet scent Pokemon to do it

before i tried to do this and always got 14 seconds to soft rest my game and now i get about 26 and i dont know what the problem is

You have to hit it before you press A to talk to the guy in the mart. Check out the article on wondercard pokemon, it's not too difficult. You must have the journal auto-open, and you have to make sure you don't have NPC movements in between the time you close the journal and the time you pick up. Or if you have an odd frame to hit and need one more advance, make sure the NPC does a single turn right after you close the journal, then pick it up. Note that an NPC can also advance the frame without moving, so if that happens I suggest re-saving at a different point and trying again.

Normally your seconds is the same, and the delay has some scatter. The seconds is the time on the DS at the moment you continue.

I still haven't had any luck finding the RNG call documentation for the Emerald (No Splits) and the Emerald (Splits) methods of breeding. I have Emerald (Alternate) and DPPt, but I still can't find those two Emerald methods :(. Anyone know where this is? Thanks.
