I have recently considered getting a tatoo. The only issue I have would be finding something that I consider relevant enough to permanently display on my body and where to put it. Do any of you have tatoos? If yes, then what did you get and where did you put it?

Pics would be nice too.

i have a pretty sizable tattoo on my upper right back.

i don't have pictures of the finished product, but it took nearly 2 years to complete, 5 sessions totaling upwards of 30 hours of work, and $600 cash.

There was a tattoo thread a while back.

Whilst obviously it's preferable to get something you've considered for a while, I won't pretend I don't like my impulse tattoos.
 
i got a tattoo of my family crest on my back shoulder. mainly because its easy to hide if i want to but fairly easy to show to others.
i dont have any pictures of it but a picture of the crest is here. its the top left one.
 
I have my boyfriends name tatted on my back shoulder. well, i don't really recommend that unless you are 100% sure about your significant other. But i am so it works =]
I would like one on the side of my stomach though.. i think that's cool.

I'm getting inked this week I think! My student loan has come through - now I have to decide what to get, I've been planning so many things for so long choosing one is difficult!
 
I don't have a tattoo, but me and some friends were discussing it some time ago. We decided an ostrich hiding its head in your bellybutton would be pretty awesome; additionally, you could have its head coming out of your ass.

it is great because people will think it's some obnoxious tough guy tattoo but in reality ruth is my dead mother's name

i don't think that will make a very cool tattoo...also this is the sort of thing that will fade from your mind fairly quickly.

what happens in 3 years when you realize the Yeah Yeah Yeah's really aren't that great?

i'm just trying to look out for you man.

You're young. Really, too young. I was with a guy when I was 17. Thought we'd be together forever. Marriage. Babies. Then he started kicking the shit out of me.
Young love. I'm not saying you're going to get into an abusive relationship, or whatever, but young love doesn't really last. Sorry about that. I know maybe hrm. Eight or nine people of my age. Everyone had a long-term partner at 17-18; some had been dating from as long as 13. They've all split up. Most of them hate each other.
 
I've been in a few long-term relationships, and after a while I thought to myself "is this who I really want to be with forever?" And even though there was nothing actually too wrong with the relationship, I'd end it there. But with Brittney I'm convinced I really do want to be with her forever. I know how people can go from loving someone to hating them completely. I hate my ex.

I know things change with some people but that's not going to be us. Even if something with her does change and for some reason we would break up I would still never cover my tattoo.

That's what bothers me a little. I do understand that no one would be too happy with her name on me.. But hypothetically if she does ever break up with me one day I'd still never cover it. After all the memories and everything we've gone through she's still important enough to me I wouldn't cover it. But I'm of course not worried about it. If I thought she was ever going to leave me, or that I wouldn't want to be with her then I wouldn't have got it.

I know reading this you're going to tell me you think I'm wrong. And that's fine. But only time can really show.
 
Pretty much agree with what Akuchi is saying, 17 is too young for a gf/bf's name tbh.

I have been in the process of wanting a tatoo, but finding something I want covering my skin is proving kinda difficult.
