Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Hi!

I found a seed for RNGing a shiny starter in Soul Silver. . .plus it's on frame 1 so that makes it even better . .but. .whenever I reset the game and hit the time the pokemon's meant to appear, it doesn't come up as shiny . .I checked the delay of this seed and it's 430 . . .is that too small a delay for HGSS?
Yes, 430 is a bit low...
The usual delay for HG/SS is 490-500.
You should first see which delay you hit more often, then you can look for a seed that requires that delay.

Yeah, that's way too small. The minimum delay in HGSS is 490 or so, because it's impossible to start the game faster than that.

You're not going to be able to successfully RNG a Pokemon unless you can get the timing of the delay exactly right. This is also what makes what you're trying very difficult - you don't have a way of figuring out if you're even anywhere close to the right delay, unless you're using an AR to check IVs.

DANG!! I finally hit my seed and my frame was off by 1 :( I thought I was going to post a sucess, but instead I want to ask. While Breeding in DP, does you frame usualy change constantly while you're still on the same save file? or was I just tremendously unlucky

From what I've experienced, the NPC-based frame change isn't always consistent in Solaceon. If you're only off by one, though, you can probably try again a few times and nail it... otherwise you might need to just save again. Sometimes it helps to save immediately after all the onscreen NPCs move; you can't help it if the offscreen ones are gonna screw you, though.

hey, anyone knows what time and delay over of a minimum of 12 seconds should i use for this spread:

Sealeo
Bold
31/x/31/31/31/31
it is to be catched in the water between the fight area and resort are.

if possible the year could be 2009 or 2010
thank you.

Is it possible to Radar abuse a pokemon on frame 57 ??
Im asking because the guide says that i should choose a frame over 700.

Its possible, but alot more difficult, at that low a frame, if your 1st encounter is not what you want you have to reset and try a different patch.

I'm trying to use Pandora's Box and I am at the point where I'm trying to do some calibration. I was wondering what I should use for the minimum and maximum delays. Thanks!

I'm planning to use Pandora's box too and I have a question.

Does the delay start advancing when I select "New Game" or does it include the time from the start-up screen to the "new game" screen.

Because if it contains the new game screen, wouldn't it be possible to set a delay of say 7000 then enter new game info. Exiting the TV when you hit your 7,000 delay?

This is a pretty complicated process, and I prefer to use IRC for these kind of questions, but I'll give it a try: The best way to go about calibrating your delay with ID Finder is to first reset your game, then turn off your DS. When you restart your DS, a new game will automatically load when you press Start.

The method I use is to set a 3 minute timer before my target minute. Whatever minute in whatever year you choose is up to you; it won't affect your options for ID/SID combos in a negative way. Synch your timer with your DS clock the same as you would with any other RNG abuse, reset the DS, and wait for one minute to pass. Start the game at exactly the one minute point, and get through Oak's speech. If I mash buttons exactly right, I can get through the speech in a minute and half. Now wait until the 3 minute point to exit out of the "Search for the Red Gyrados" screen. Your delay will be the total time from starting the game to exiting out of that last screen.

By using this method, you will know for certain what minute and second value you are looking for. It will be the zero second of your target minute. The delays I encounter for this are in the high 6000's, but you may need to play around with it a bit to find exactly your delay. Plug the ID into the righthand column of ID Finder, along with the other information, and try an appropriate delay range. I usually use 6000-7000. One thing, though, is that the range of the search appears to be dictated by the range values in the middle column, not the righthand one. Play around with this, though, and you will eventually come up with a delay that fits that minute and second. This is your target delay.

whats pandora??

and no1 knows of a delay, and date i should have to catch a bold sealea with this spread:
31/x/31/31/31/31/31

i was told atack can be 16, 14 and something else...

pandora a method for is abusing for ID/SID combinations
as for the spread that depends on your delay, from the calibration.

Question:When im abusing in weather,im supposed to catch sth to check my seed.Won't that action advance the frames in an unpredictable way and ruin the proccess?
And does anything change when radar abusing in weather.

How do you RNG abuse on an emulator?

From what I've heard it involves RAM addresses, savestates, and changing the computer's System Time, and that it tends to be easier than RNG abuse on an actual cart.

Can someone tell me the specifics?

ok need a little help.

i want to capture a nice jolly sneasel and right now im trying for a good shiny spread. i've typed in all the IVs put my ID and SID in and the sychronizer and all that jazz but i wanna know what year, max frame, and min/max delays i should use. i already did my calibration and got all even numbers(592-616) so i know i should use even numbers.. please help ^^

I'm having an issue with Pandora's Box. I'm using the left thing to find an ID/SID combination for the PID I want, but when I put the seed returned from Pandora's Box into RNG Reporter to find a target time, the delay is different than what Pandora gave me.

This is what I'm using as a reference:
Desired PID: 8efb545d
Minimum Delay: 6915

Returned seed that I chose: 89171B07, Delay 6919, ID: 30305, SID: 44229
Delay given by RNG Reporter: 6910

I suppose I could just change the year, but could I change it so that my target delay is 6917 (my most common delay in calibration)? If so, why did Pandora's Box give me that delay?

EDIT: One more question: Is it possible to get both even and odd delays in this process? I ignored some of my results in calibration because the only ones that made any sense were even and around 85% of my resets had an odd delay.

EDIT2: One last question: For a given PID, is the other nature that accompanies it the same no matter the ID/SID? I've checked a bunch of different ID/SID combinations for a partner spread for a Bold spread that I like, and every one has Hardy. =(

hey, i decided to check if i knwo what im doing

Well most importantly you have to know your Delay Range...
Then Select a Pokemon you want to catch and a Seed
Use a Delay that is in your Range, use the Date and Time it gives you (Except for time you use 1 minute before the given time to give you a minute to get into the game)
And then the Seed should have Frames listed each one with different Encoutner Slots, find a Frame with an Encoutner Slot that matches the Pokemon your Trying to catch and then its helpfull to jot all that down XD
And then keep trying to hit yuor Delay (verifying by coin flips) and when you do advance untill your at the frame you need to be, also you need to take into account the Monster Frame, Roamers, NPC's (If any and you should stop them if possible)

well i decided to catch a sealeo
but how do i select a seed??
ill reheck my delay, since appearently i only checked the time i take until i press continue.
what is the monster frame'???
there are no roamers left.
and there are no no-controlables NPC's on that route if i right.

sry if i ask too much, im just starting this and its hard for me....

I dont think you read the guide.... I would Suggest going over it again....
But Methid-J Spreads can be found on the front Page in Mingots First Post
Here
Physical Spreads
Special Spreads
Trick Room Physical Spreads
Trick Room Special Spreads
Or you can use PokeRNG to search, I would say PokeRNG takes alittle longer but its better :)
And there are NPC's on that Route, Its Route 230 and 1 or 2 of them move Randomly so they WILL advance your frame if you dont stop them by using the VS. Seeker

I have a problem, which is why i came here. So, Im new to RNG and all this stuff, and I know the basics. I can hit my time and delay and stuff, so that is not the issue. Currently Im trying to RNG myself a cool special Dragonite for personal use. My problem is that i hit the right time and delay and do my flips, and I dont get the dratini in Mt. Coronet that im trying to find. I always get "not even a nibble" like a million times until this same damned relaxed dratini eventually comes up. I was told by bearsfan that i should check out encounter slots, so i did, and the frame says i should get the dratini, but i dont. can someone please help me?

Thats because for fishing when your selecting a frame that matches your encounter slot you have to make sure it says "landed a pokemon"

it does, and i keep getting not even a nibble. ive checked all the other frames around mine intended one, and they all say "landed a pokemon" too. so im very confused. i can even give you the frame and stuff from the rng reporter
