Hey kinda new here so let me introduce myself real quick :).
Been a while since I've done competitive battling and my old team is long gone, but I want to get back into that stuff. In my opinion pokemon was at its best back in the days of Blue, Red & Yellow and so I have built a team out of these guys to prove that they can beat anything DPP can throw out :D.

The Squad

Arcanine
Flash Fire
Modest (+ Spcl Atk / - Atk)
EV's ( + 252 Spd / + 252 Spcl Atk )
Charcoal
- Sunny Day
- Solarbeam
- Flamethrower
- Extremespeed
Been one of my favourites from day one. This is a total power house right from the start, I will usually open with sunny day to boost my flamethrower and give solarbeam an instant shot. Easily counters common starters such as Forretress and Hippowdon and the solarbeam is usually very unexpected.
Starmie
Natural Cure
Modest (+ Spcl Atk / - Atk)
EV's ( + 252 Spcl Atk / + 252 Spd )
Mysticwater
- Thunderwave
- Thunderbolt
- Psychic
- Surf
Starmie has such a large move pool and can easily bring down a wide range of types and opponents. Psychic and surf are two strong STAB attacks that can inflict a lot of damage with thunderbolt in there just because it can learn tied in with thunderwave for some status harm; and from what I understand an OU in Diamond and pearl anyway... Must be decent.
Zapdos
Pressure
Docile (No effect)
EV's ( + 252 Spcl Atk / + 252 Spd )
Magnet
- Thunderbolt
- Drill Peck
- Steel Wing
- Roost / Thunderwave
Zapdos is my electric type that gives an obivious advantage over other electric types as he is unaffected by ground type attacks. With speed and special attack soaring this guy can deal a lot of damage. Drill peck and thunderbolt are strong STAB moves with steel wing in there to combat rock types (a major weakness for zapdos). Thunderwave and roost... I honestly cant decide between... Advice? And Docile nature as I couldnt pick a nature that benefitted him without severely damaging him on other stats that he needs high.
Hitmonlee
Reckless
Adamant (+ Atk / - Spcl Atk)
EV's ( + 252 Atk / + 252 Spd )
Focus Sash / black belt
- Hi Jump Kick
- Foresight
- Endure
- Reversal
A little strange I will admit but I think in the right hands he can be pretty destructive. For example Reckless increases high jump kicks power by a mile. Then we have foresight in there incase hes in a corner against gengar or something... Finally endure + reversal is incredible so long as he isnt stopped by mach punch, quick attack or extremespeed... Risky but strong.
Sandslash
Sand Viel
Adamant ( + Atk / - Spcl Atk)
EV's ( + 252 Atk / + 252 Speed)
Soft Sand
- Earthquake
- Rockslide
- Rapid Spin
- Swords Dance / Slash
A very under rated pokeon in my opinion. For somebody sporting rock and ground type capabilities and having relitively quick speed I would have thought he would be a little mroe used. Earthquake provides a good STAB effect and rock slide being there for a movepool variety. Also my rapid spinner to rid the field or spikes etc (he can learn through breeding) and finally undecided on swords dance or slash... He probably couldnt take many hits making me unsure on swords dance but when would slash come in handy?
Snorlax
Immunity
Adamant (+ Atk / - Spcl Atk)
EV's ( + 252 Atk / + 252 Def )
Silk Scarf / Leftovers / Muscle Band / Life Orb
- Rest
- Body Slam
- Earthquake
- Crunch
Snorlax can withstand so much and has such a wide move pool that I couldnt leave this big fella out. I am un decided on his held item but am fairly confident with the moves I have selected. Body slam for status (hopefully) and a decent power STAB move. Earthquake is in there for his major disadvantage... Rock. And finally the only thing that threatens him is ghost types... Hence Crunch... And his last move is merely rest, a staple on any snorlax I assumed... :D

Final Notes
- - - - - - -
As I said I would only like to use the generation one pokemon, no ubers and please let me know where you think are my weak points in this team. Also note I like to cover each pokemons weakness using itself. For example, the only reason hitmonlee knows foresight is for safety against ghost types, the only reason zapdos knows steel wing is to combat rock types... I like the sense of security.
Anyway, thanks for reading and I will update this with pictures later on. Any advice is welcomed and I would bee up for battle any time, just let me know but keep comments in this thread to comments on my six only please.
