This is what i see honestly. Arrows pointing to tail tips.

The Medusa-Kitsune viewpoint (ie like Ninetails with the tails as hair instead) wasn't my first thought but I guess it's plausible.
I suppose the tails could also be originating in the lower body and curling up but I can't see it that way esp. with the narrow 'neck' in the middle that looks like a hair accessory.

The fact that Ninetails is already an illusionist kitsune could mean there is a relation.
Psychic/Fire or Ghost/Fire? Not bad offensively.
I doubt the Ninetails relation though, it seems too different.

Lol, with all the talk of Ninetails/Riolu references it's really difficult to predict the outcome lol. Nonetheless whatever it is I hope it turns out unique and perhaps change the meta of competitive battling.

Actually, I hope a majority of 5th gen (and hopefully older gens with updated movepools) mold out competitive battling in a much more diverse way.

Fire/Psychic...Dark/Fighting, who knows, but it'll be interesting.

On another note though, with this Poke we're looking at, how do you think it's stats might turn out? Ninetales isn't too much of a sweeper, but this "potentially Nine-tailed Fox evolution" Seems more like it could be.

It's highest base stats being SpA 81, SpD 100 and Spe 100..so I guess if it an evolution that SpA might sky rocket? Lol.

I wonder if it would keep those 100s..and if it's base Atk of 76 will increase.

Ohh..and potentially a new signature Fire attack? Hmmm

Now as for a Riolu second evolution..we already know Lucario's a beast..but this alternate evolution..how can it turn out to be? A faster Lucario but weaker offensive capabilities? Another signature Fighting type move? Lol..watch it be like an Dark or Fighting version of Rage with 60-70 Base atk lolol.

Also, Ability. as a Ninetales/Riolu Evo, what kind of a ability would it have?

Oh...sorry if I excluded it being a potential Mightyena Evolution..if that's the case I would think that like I said with it being a Riolu Evo, that it might be Dark/Fighting version of Infernape (somewhat xD)

As a Pokemon all on it's own though, that's just a mystery to me. I can assume it being Fighting type by it's silhouette..but I wouldn't know of it's secondary type (unless Fighting is its second type)

..still, in the end I go for Fire/Psychic or Dark/Fighting.

LittleOni, Lucario would probably end up being the less "offensive" of the two. Defense and Offense aren't just about stats. Lucario can perform so well because it has great resistances-10 and 3 weaknesses while a theoretical fighting/dark type would only have 4, with 2 weaknesses. Surely the fighting/dark type would not be more defensive, unless they went an entirely different route with the stat spread (which is less probable). Fighting/Dark would be superior offensively, while Lucario would have more opportunities to set up.

If it's a Lucariio evolution or something, then I think we have an insta-uber. That would require it to be late in the pokedex, however. I do think it will be, though.

It looks sinister: Dark or Ghost
It looks possibly metallic or warrior-like (Fighting). As such, If you wanted to tell me GameFreak looked up Revenank and changed the Sprite and Name, I might believe you.

As a side note, I'm hoping for convergent evolution here (say, Eevelutions having common evolutions, like a Psychic/Dark Espeon/Umbreon Evolution.)

I hope Wigglytuff gets better anything besides Movepool.

Anyways on a more serious note Items that boost defenses would also be prefered.

You mean a Life Orb thingy for Defense? Or something like Expert Belt, giving 10 (or so)% bonus to def?. Life Orb for Speed would be cool, actually!

A thought I was having. Phione is an alternate version that came from an egg right? Maybe crossbreeds between a few specific similar pokemon while an item is held. Like a Lucario Ninetales crossbreed.

Life orb for speed would be broken. Just use it on something that tends not to attack and you get a free speed boost with basically no drawbacks.

How about a Choice Shield? (locks the user into 1 move, but boosts defense)
Or a Choice Talisman? (same but with special defense)

The viability would be limited, as most defensive pokes like being able to use both a recovery move and a crippling move of some kind. However, it would make for some very specific threat-counters (without going the speed way like Choice Scarf). Imagine Scizor/Ttar with a Choice Amulet, or Blissey with a Choice Shield.

A speed Orb would be most useful for moderately bulky Pokemon with moderate speed that use at least one or two of: Sleep moves, entry hazards, Taunt, Encore, Destiny Bond, and perhaps a few other things I am forgetting. Other roles such as SubSeeders and Screeners would probably be better off with Leftovers and Light Clay respectively, whilst very frail and very bulky Pokemon would prefer Sash and Leftovers respectively.

I personally don't see it being that broken, even if it only had a drawback when attacking. Then again, I don't expect anything of the sort to be introduced in the first place.

Waiting for a Ursaring evolution with a secondary grass type, Spore and Extremespeed. All together with Belly Drum on a 145 base atk .

Ok, serious now: if there's Stones that the Eevee family still didn't used, i expect some more eeveelutions...

or they can just make a stone for pretty much every untouched type (sooner or later lol).

I'll be pretty damn pissed if this guy becomes Uber and I'll never get to use it in standard play. Or if it's terrible and has no worth in OU =/

i actually even want the legendaries of this gen to be "balanced" or fit/qualified to be viable in the OU environment :(

The 10 year old kids (Which is the biggest target for the games) will probably crush that dream. I think we all thought about it at some point, just to realise the little kids that play don't care shit for competitive battling and only want that "super-strong-one-of-a-kind" pokemon.

Not that I wouldn't like it though, but sadly it wont happen:( At least not with all of them. Actually, DPP was the first games to introduce a non-trio pokemon to not be Uber. Actually several; Heatran and Cresselia are the only ones I can think of now from the top of my head. Then again, DPP has the most legendaries in a pokemon game to date, so that might not count for much but anyway. Expect there might be a few legendaries in 5th gen that aren't Uber-status, but the "mascots" of the games will be Uber, as usual. There will probably also be a trio with members in UU/OU. The interesting thing to note is that not in one game has the pokemon trio been Uber, not even one. Then again, they are more of the "half legendary" pokemon. There is only one of each, but they're not particularily stronger than the average pokemon. You could say they are the middle ground between normal pokemon and Uber legends.

EDIT: Sorry, GSC was first with Celebi, but anyway. Well, I count Celebi as the first because it's OU now, and it's the earliest non-trio pokemon to be OU.
