cleide's team! OU RMT

This is my first topic here, i hope i do everything fine!
I'm using this team atm, it's doing well but i think something is missing. I'm having some problems with some leads like yanmega and gengar and blissey is causing trouble too.

Here it goes :

forretress.png

485_0_0.png
094_Gengar_shiny.png
gyarados-f.png
magnezone.png

This is the team. Now i will describy each one:

forretress.png

Forretress @ Shed Shell
Careful
Sturdy
252 HP/ 120 SpD/ 136 Def
Stealth rock
Spikes
Rapid spin
Payback

Forretress is a great lead with only a few leads that hurt him. It start with stealth rock, ig the opponent dont switch then i use spikes at least once. Rapid spin is there to remove a hazard the opponent may have used. Payback is to kill pokemon like gengar and rotom and sometimes got the opponent on surprise. And of course is the physical wall of the team.

330.png

Flygon @ Choice scarf
Jolly
Levitate
252 Atk/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP
Earthquake
Thunderpunch
Outrage
U-turn

Flygon is there for two reasons. The first is to be a sweeper with a good coverage. U turn to see to what pokemon the opponent is going to change. The other reason is the resistance to fire as the team is weak to it. Earthquake and outrage for STAB and stone edge to kill flying types like gyarados.

485_0_0.png

Heatran @ Leftovers
Timid
Flash Fire
252 SpA/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP
Fire Blast
Earth Power
Will-o-wisp
Substitute

I replaced the former yanmega for Heatran. With the team weakness to fire heatran is a good switch in. Fire blast is to hit as harder as possible and a STAB agains all the metallic pokemons out there like scizor, kirachi, metagross and lucario. Earth power is there to hit electric types and another heatran. Substitute is for protection when the opponent switches then i got a free turn to burn all the physical sweepers like salamence and gyarados.

094_Gengar_shiny.png

Gengar @ Life Orb
Timid
Levitate
252 SpA/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP
Shadow ball
Thunderbolt
Hypnosis
Focus blast

Gengar besides being a special sweeper is the revenge killer of the team. Shadow ball is there for the STAB and to hit others gengar. Thunderbolt helps agains flying and water enemies. Hypnosis is used when the opponent makes a switch. Focus blast helps against tyrannitar and some metallic like lucario.

gyarados-f.png

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Adamant
Intimidate
156 HP / 72 Atk / 96 Def / 184 Spe
Dragon Dance
Taunt
Waterfall
Stone Edge

Not much to say on gyarados, it's the physical sweeper and the main attacker of the team. Taunt to prevent others to do all the bad stuff and use whirlwind when i'm boosting it with dragon dance, then dragon dance and attack with waterfall for the STAB and stone edge to kill salamence, dragonite and the most important part, to kill another gyarados. Intimidate also is used to help the other poekmons on the team as some of them don't have a high def.

magnezone.png

Magnezone @ Choice scarf
Naive
Magnet pull
252 SpA/ 252 Spe/ 4 HP
Thunderbolt
Hidden power fire
Flash cannon
Explosion

Magnezone was the last pokemon put on team, i've already tried a lot of different strategy with it. This one is the better until now.Explosion is to kill blissey. And scarf is to have more chances of using his good special attack more often. Hidden power is to kill the trapped scizor and forretres that appear and it also helps against an already injured metagross and lucario. The reason flash cannon is there besides the STAB is to hit hard on tyrannitaras it will attack first even after tyrannitar uses 1 dragon dance.

The team is playing very well now and have a good synergy, and with less scarfed pokemon the team has more freedom too.

Well, the team is solid, but there are a few major problems. 3 scarfed pokemon!?! No way. you can't expect a team to flow if half of it must switch in to use another move. Give gengar a life orb, and teech it hypnosis or t-wave for HP ice. Flygon should have an adamant nature, because it's meant to hit hard and then run, and it already has huge speed with cs. This is just my opinion, but I think you should replace Toxic spikes to spikes on your fortress; spikes can only be removed using rapid spin, but ts can be by your opponent just bringing out a poisen type. Try my changes and see how things go.
PEACE!

Newbie 2 newbie. I've been looking at a lot of RMT threads and from what I've seen the forum users here don't like short descriptions for your Pokemon's roles on your team. Make them more lengthy.

As for your Yanmega, I advise you run Hypnosis, instead of Hidden Power. You're not likely to score an OHKO on Heatran with it and in the end you'll be the one getting OHKOed. Use Hypnosis as sleep support so your Gyarados can come in and set up.

Thanks for the help, i will replace flygon nature for adamant and toxic spikes for spikes. About the 3 scarfed pokemon i'm thinking about removing magnezone out of the team, because gengar is there to kill 1 dragon dance gyarados and salamence. But i still didn't decided what pokemon in the place of magnezone.

Already fixed the descriptions!
About yanmega, it is a OHKO on heatran. Already tested it a lot of times.

Hey Jucaa, got your PM.

I'd look to change your Forretress's EV spread to 252 Hp/252 SpDef with a Careful Nature, and replace Earthquake with Payback. Now your Forretress is able to take hits from Gengar, Latias, and Rotom and hit them hard with Payback. Gyro Ball is also an option if you want to be able to hit Tyranitar and Salamence, but you'll lose out on the ability to hit Rotom and it will block your spins all day.

Three choice scarfed pokemon on a team is overkill, so I'm going to recommend that you replace your Gengar with a Resttalk Rotom. Rotom is bulkier and has much better defensive typing, and so is well-suited to block your opponents attempts at spinning away your Spikes. Rotom will also provide you with some defense against Gyarados, Scizor, Jirachi, etc.

Definately keep the Jolly nature on Flygon, you need to be able to tie with +1 Salamence and Scarf Jirachi. Since you're not getting good results with Magnezone, you could definately try out Sub/CM Jirachi on this team, as you already have the appropriate means to support it. (Toxic Spikes) Many of the pokemon that will come in to wall Flygon, including Skarmory, Gyarados, and Forretress, can be used as set up bait for Jirachi. If they bring in a Heatran or Swampert to wall Jirachi, you can go to Gyarados to set up for a Dragon Dance sweep.

Hope this rate helped :)

Hello Jucca decent team you have here.

First on Forry you might want to change the EVS into 252 HP 252 Sp.Def to take special attack since it's defense overall it pretty decent without any EVs, definitly need to change Earthquake with Payback because of Gengar, rotom and latias coming in they're the popular sp.attackers rather then Heatran.

Also you might want to change toxic spikes into spikes because you have nothing on your team you might want to stall with.

Flygon I'd keep the nature to Jolly to either tie or outspeed DDmence. You might though just want to change Stone Edge into Thunderpunch to secure the KO for Gyarados or any other water types.

For Yangmega you might want to change it the 4x to SR isn't the best thing to use. So you might just want to change it to Heatran because you have 3 things on your team weak to fire, so why just not switch out to Heatran when you see the Fire attack coming

Might just want to switch it to this Heatran set,

Heatran @ leftovers
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 Speed 252 Sp.attack 6 HP
Moveset:
Subsitute
Earth Power
Will O Wisp / Hidden Power Grass
Fire Blast

It's a decent set for Sweepertran and it hits hard onto some of the tran counters that come against it like Swampert.

The Gengar set that you have atm, doesn't work well against some stuff today like Tyranitar or Scizor, with Pursuit or Bullet punch but you won't be able to choose since you're scarfed so you might want to change it to Mystic Gar and use this:

Gengar @ Life orb
Shadow Ball
Protect
Hidden Power Fire
Focus Blast

Other then that your team looks like it should be doing well.

Thanks a lot RT and Abutorn!

I've made some changes.
First i changed toxic spikes for spikes and earthquake for payback. Spikes is working great but payback still dosnt got much work.

Flygon is still jolly.

I replaced Yanmega for Heatran and it worked very well, Heatran is helping a lot!

Gengar is now with a life orb, but in the place of protect i used hypnosis and i removed hidden power for it. I'm thinking of replace focus blast with hidden power ice though.

Gyarados and Magnezone are still the same.

Thanks for the help, i will edit the pokemons and the descriptions!

Im new to rating teams and fairly new to Competitive Pokemon so I'm no expert but please let me know if my info helped. I suggest you take off toxic spikes if you want Forretress as your lead and replace it with explosion but if you want to keep both entry hazards then i suggest taking of earthquake as then he will be Magnezone bait but if you replace leftovers with shed shell you wont have to worry about Magnezone and then you can switch to flygon.

Well, Toxic Spikes is one of the best entry hazards in the OU metagame despite the majority of Steel-types, its very useful, and Entry hazards of some kind are a must. But you are right that Shed Shell >>> Lefties.

Onto my rate:

I would drop T-Spikes in favor of Spikes simply because of how common Scizor is, and because I've been running into more and more T-Spikes immune teams, maybe I just keep getting opponents meant to beat me. =/

Also, change the EVs on forry to be an even number, odd EVs = waste, stats increase 1 point for every 4 EVs, in case you didn't know.

As mentioned above, 3 scarfed pokemon is "lol nice pursuit bait you got thar" or "nice, imma wall you now". Point is, when you think three scarfed pokemon is a good idea, think again. Give Gengar LO >>> Choice Scarf.

Also, I would change HP Ice to HP Fire, so it can hurt Zone and Scizor, in case your Zone gets taken out.

Also, make sure Forry has 0 speed EVs, or if this is in game, make sure its as low as possible. Payback >> Earthquake IMO, as it can scare off some Ghosts that might try and stop your spins.

Yanmega is bad in general. There is so much bad with it. Speed Boost doesn't do much for it, except make it faster but in all honesty it dies in two turns anyway, so I would suggest Tinted Lens >> Speed Boost, its already somewhat fast, but Tinted Lens is one of the best abilities in the game, which allows you to hit resisted switch is for more damage. Also, the big problem with Yanmega, is that it takes 50% from Stealth Rock, so, yeah, that gives you a whole 5 turns to sweep (most likely KO 3 at the most, and thats being liberal, and assuming there isn't sandstorm). So its lacking in the survivability department. But if you like it, I would suggest Tinted Lens >> Speed Boost.

tl;dr

Spikes >> T-Spikes on Forr
Fix Forry's EVs to be 116 and 142 respectively.
Life Orb >> Scarf on Gengar
Yanmega is bad, but if you want to use it, put Tinted Lens >> Speed Boost.

Fixed the descriptions! The team is as its show now and its running very well.
I will test gengar a little more to see what is better: focus blast or hidden power fire or ice!
