The more I look at it the more I wanna punch it. Can you imagine that thing in a battle screen?
It just looks so out-of-place. Ah well, here's hoping it at least introduces some new stuff to the game.
[Lol who am I kidding, he's gonna be another fast hitting paper defense shmuck, and maybe they'll spice it up with a signature move so he won't be too terrible]
 
Aww i was hoping for a fight/dark poke because i love fighting types and that combo is great offensively. Oh well i can still hope for more fighting mons, breloom evolution anyone?
 
Does zorroaku stand on 2 or 4 legs?
Still hoping for the fighting / dark typing.

Also how many new pokemon do you think they will introduce?

Breloom is too good to get an evo, unless it likes, changes his stats around with a very minimal boost.
Plus, he started out as pure grass, so if you want him to ditch that for dark in his last evo... not gonna happen. It'll just be weird, having a dark/fighting use spores and leech seed and whatnot.

Personally, I really liked the fake starters when gen4 was just announced - Dark/Fighting/Psychic. That's just awesome. Maybe we can settle for like, Grass/Psychic, Water/Fighting and Fire/Dark?

He can switch, but in my opinion his default will be two legs, as the shadow showed. It seems to be his official pose. Plus, you know, furry and all.
I'm gonna say around the 100 mark again. Hopefully without a truckton of legendaries this time.
 
I'd like the Pre-evolve it looks like a dark version of Shinx.. But then the evolve form looks alright. I don't like it when its in quadrupedal look.. It doesn't look right.

Shinx had actual paws. Legs. This thing... what are these and how can he stand on them?

LOL at the pointed paws/legs. Well here's hoping for a much more new pokemon. I am not liking Zoroak, its looking just ordinary. I mean we got Lucario already and then to have something like this stars his/her own movie is quite uninteresting. Hence Lucario is much cooler and even Ninetales, the original fox. Thank heavens Ninetales retains it's fox like appearance it's much more graceful. In the other hand I'd like to see Ninetales in human form I bet it'll be better.

LOL talk about ranting.. I usually just keep quiet with my opinions..
 
People will eventually get over the design. Do you remember all the complaints (maybe not here, but everywhere else) about Dialga, Giratina, etc? It does look a little weird, with the actual hair-piece (tie thing) and mascara, but jesus, look at some of the pokemon we already have. I've pretty much stopped caring about aesthetics and only use good pokemon anyways (after around gen 2).

Yeah I know.. I just felt like ranting.. Oh and don't forget the Heatran design. I still have nightmares.. Dialga, Giratina looks alright but then again they looked and feel more 3D.
 
Spinda evolution-I mean come on, it and aipom are like, the same thing, same BST, smae useless poke with large movepool, etc, but aipom got an evo. It would be dizzda and have the same BST as ambipom, except sp. att instead of attack, and less speed in exchange for more defenses. a great calm mind passer
 
Honestly, why all the ranting? I personally love everything about it, and I'm very sure the standing pose will be in the game. Think about Pikachu. Mostly when it moves or attacks in the anime it's on all fours, but it's always standing on two legs in game. So that's what I assume will be the case with this one as well.

Since it needs some more love, I have to say I think it's awesome. The pre-evos legs are wierd, I agree. Other than that though, this is definately something I'd want to use.

Your argument is illogical and flawed Artix, and Zoroark is the first confirmed 5th gen pokemon.

That it exists makes me sad, for the 4th gen's diagnosis has been confirmed terminal.

Ninetails doesn't look anything like it. At all. I didn't mean "find me another Pokemon based on the same animal" - I meant one that had similar features. Like mascara. Or anorexic body build. Or ponytail. Or DEM EYES.

Ninetails? Ninetails is fat, has fitting, NON-HUMAN-LIKE eyes, and doesn't have "overly designed complex" - she has like, a two-colors scheme and no unnecessary details beyond her trademark feature, the 9 tails.

Zoroark is a new pokemon, who seems to be a bastardisation of Ninetales and Lucario, and is confirmed whether you like it or not.

Also, are you fucking blind, because Ninetales in't exactly fat.

It's "fat" by comparison to that digimon thing.

Also, I don't get what your posts are about. You bring up an argument, I counter it, then you say "YOUR POINT IS IRRELEVANT AND THE POKEMON CONFIRMED LIKE IT OR NOT".

Well yeah, I'm aware of that, I just don't like it. Now close your thesaurus and step down, you clearly have the reading comprehension of a 10 years old.
 
It's not a terribly awful sprite in my opinion...just a little predictable I guess. It's cool that it's a mono-Dark type, would have liked to see a unique typing (like Fighting/Dark), but what can you do? Hopefully they'll have some fresh stuff to give us when more information is released.

Someone above posted an ability to negate priority and that sounds way awesome. It might be considered broken (especially with possibly Choice Scarf+Roar) but it sounds like an anti-metagaming pokemon of sorts. It wouldn't even have to have unbelievable stats if played defensively, just Roar stuff away. For real though, Choice Scarf and Roar might be considered broken. Great idea though and would love to see this.

As long as it doesn't get a common ability like Steadfast I'll be happy! I have a feeling that the Phantom part in the new movie denotes that this pokemon gets a cool ability.

Let me repeat this.

Opal and Amethyst have been trademarked by Ninty for a long time, as well as White Gold, Pokemon Crater, and a ton of other Pokemon-based site names.

At this point in time, names cannot be confirmed with anything. I wouldn't be suprised if Pokemon Opal and Pokemon Amethyst will never be used at game titles. They just have the websites in case they ever need them, and need to get them cheaply before anyone else tries to buy before they did.

People, can we just wait for stuff to be revealed before going sfdagsdfasdfasTHEORY wfgdsgfdhbdgvfdTHISISPROBLYHOWITSGOINGTOBE?

You know what I'd like to see? This thread for 5th Gen Discussion, then another thread for, like, 5th Gen THEORY.

It'd keep good posts from being drowned in theory, and it'd allow the people that want to go OMFGIWANTTHISIN to do so.
 
We already have an information thread (it's a sticky) that is for pure information, and this one is for discussion of 5th generation in general. I don't understand what you want?

Now, my username does not exactly have anything to do with this, so I fail to see why you mention it in the first place. You obviously seem unhappy with this new pokemon, but I am not. You are entitled to your opinion as I am mine, but from that statement of yours, I think you seem to believe that only your opinion is relevant.

Also, why would it even have to resemble anything from Gen 1? It isn't Gen 1, it's Gen 5. And saying "It's not Pokemon" is funny in itself. Why would I have to show you any proof to convince you when I'm not even trying to? That's just ridiculous. You are in fact the one trying to convince me that it's bad obviously. If you feel nostalgic about Gen 1, go play RBY.
 
Potential new ability: Ethereal.

~The pokemon takes 50% less damage from physical attacks but takes double damage from special attacks.
