Team Molten Toxic (UU RMT Peaked # 18)

Hey there, Hellriser

So, it might be a bit too early for me to post this, as threat list hasn't gone up yet, and it changes a lot when it comes to the team's structure, but I'll be posting it anyway so that you can keep this in mind for now.
First of all, great team; you really can't go wrong with great sweepers like those two, specially working so well together as they do. On to the rate:

First, I'm going to recommend Blastoise over Claydol. My reasoning for that is simple: you seem to have no answer at all when it comes to Fire-type sweepers, like Arcanine and, especially, Moltres itself, who finds many easy switch-ins on Froslass, Spiritomb and Toxicroack, and can from there proceed to KO one poké at least, while your best answers are your own Moltres (that'll lose if it switches in) and Kabutops, who's likely to be dead by then. Added to that, Blastoise counters both Feraligatr and Rhyperior better, spins better due to not being choiced and having access to Yawn. On the other side, when using Claydol, you might not find a chance to spin at all, as if your opponent decides to bring Gatr/Perior early game, you'll have to give up on your main spinner to stop them.
Of course, that'll make Blastoise less effective when taking on Venusaur, Hariyama and Raikou, but bear with me: you have little troubles with the first two, as you have Moltres to take on them, added to the fact Claydol is boned if hit by Payback/Power Whip respectively. Regarding Raikou, even though Claydol is pursuit bait and will hate taking Hidden Power on the switch, it still counters Raikou better than Blasoise would ever dream of, hence my next suggestion.

Now that you have a glaring Raikou weakness, you''d have to change something around, and the most disposable poké seems to be your Kabutops. Yes, I know, it takes away your dual spin strategy, but as I said, this is just a suggestion (I actually still have the feeling it doesn't really matter wheter you have Rapid Spin on it or not, as you don't stay in against leads that actually use SR and won't be able to switch in throughout game, as rocks would kill Kabutops once its sash has been activated, but I haven't used the team so I can't say much).
Anyways, I recommend either Steelix or Registeel, as they seem to be the closest you'll get when it comes to countering Raikou, keeping Rocks and giving you an extra Venusaur check. Which one to use, I really can't tell, so if you decide to take my suggestion follow your personal preferences and what you think this team needs the most (I'd go with Steel though, which I think is the best fit for your team, as it works as an extra check for Mismagius and Alakazam, two pokés that might be very troublesome once Spiritomb is gone). Donphan could be used as well, and it still gives you a spinner, but he ain't as good countering Kou.

I guess that's it. As I said, these changes would change your team a lot, but I think it would be nice for you to keep some of them in mind, in case you decide to implement one of them at least. Good Luck =)

Edit: Also, if you decide not to change pokés, consider putting Grass Knot on Claydol, as it might help against RP Perior.

Thanks a lot for your rate. I was actually thinking of a Steelix lead and switching to a Blastoise before posting the RMT, but I first wanted to see what others thought. I will definitely try out those changes. You are right, I actually do have to switch on most leads that set down rocks, but when I bring him back in, I make sure it is against something I am faster than, or something that will switch, so I can spin the rocks away. But Steelix or Registeel could seem like good replacements, I will definitely test both and see which one best fits my team. Blastoise would definitely be a more reliable spinner; 1 reliable spinner could definitely be more viable than two shaky ones. Thanks again.

Hey Hellriser, :)

Nice team you have here, but I have a couple of suggestions after having a look at the threat list. Alot of your medium/high level threats, mainly Moltres, Su(b)perior, Feraligatr, can be diminished by a Blastoise > Claydol. Blastoise functions nicely as a spinner/phazer while checking alot of these threats

Blastoise (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Rapid Spin
- Surf
- Yawn
- Roar

I've seen this Kabutops lead before and to be honest I'm not quite sold on it. Personally, I prioritize limiting the opponents hazards before laying my own. So you could consider Mixed Sharpedo. It is a tried and tested lead, by both myself and powertothepika. Froslass gets a maximum of one layer of spikes. Lead moltres will never beat you and if you run EQ, some smart ass running a rest talk kou will be very sorry indeed. Thats why sash is so valuable. I do realise that takes away SR but spikes + Moltres is more than dangerous enough.

Sharpedo @ Focus Sash
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 SAtk/252 Spe/4 Atk
Timid nature
- Surf
- Dark Pulse
- Aqua jet
- EQ/Taunt/pursuit

That's it for now, once again nice team and good luck!

Hey Smurf, thanks for the rate ;]. I'm currently testing that blastoise set, and it seems to be working well. Sharpedo would leave me too wide open to Raikou or pretty much any electric attack because even if it has earthquake, it is a suicide lead, and would die very quickly. Also, Stealth Rock is far too important on any team, so I have to fit it in somewhere. I have been testing out a Registeel in the lead slot with enough attack EV's to 2HKO bulkylass and it has been working pretty well. Thanks a lot for your help though!
