Togekiss Flinch Set
Choice Scarf instead of Thunder Wave+Leftovers

Would this be viable? I know it gives them higher chances to attack, but it also removes most of the chance for togekiss to be damaged/KOed while Im doing the thunder wave. It also eliminates the possibility of Volt Absorb / Ground types ruining Thunder Wave.

These threads are awesome, I always leave a tab open and cycle through when I'm bored. (I read like 50 pages today).

Em I have some questions. Is my title of Pokémon Master reliant on my progress in Battle Frontier? I have all the Silver Prints but I could only get one Gold so far. (Battle Hall). I was using Garchomp, Latias and Registeel but swapped the Latias for a Blissey but I still can't get past like 40 battles. Whether a Hitmontop takes advantage of my Fighting weakness or Walrien gets 3 Sheer Colds in a row; it's just fucking unfair. (Honestly I've been playing Battle Frontier continuously for months. I have 900 hours on Platinum). So, how much of it is I'm a shitty team builder and how much of it is I'm really unlucky. Like, if I can't beat Battle Frontier I doubt I'd be any good at competetive battling with you guys.

Also what is better, Blissey or Latias? D; They both have shitty ivs, Latias doesn't have Soul Dew, Blissey is Bold, Latias is Jolly (Lol). I'm using them both as Recover/Calm Minders. Also what are the two best moves for a Calm Mind/Recover set? My Latias had Surf for coverage and Psychic for STAB, Blissey's move pool is surprisingly shit so I gave it Thunderbolt and Focus Blast because I didn't have those type moves. The thing that pisses me off is that they are pretty much useless until they get a few Calm Minds in and in that time they've usually been statused by something.

I basically have 2 days before SS comes out over here, I really want my 5 Gold Prints.

For people with HeartGold / SoulSilver already, are they compatible with WPA Wireless Router Security?

I know that the DSi and DSiXL both support WPA, while the DS and DS Lite do not. But at the same time, Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, and basically every DS game that can use Wi-Fi does not support WPA as far as I'm aware.. So, do the actual cartridges support it yet or do we still need to keep WEP to play Pokémon online?

I never asked this question in regards to other Wi-Fi enabled games after the release of the DSi, so everything released after that could already work.. But I'm unsure.

So I've had Dig and Fly on two members of my team for quite a few days now, but this is the first time I recall this happening: the attacks Revenge, Cross Chop, and Wake-up-slap have hit my Pokemon while they were off the screen. I thought only Magnitude hit through Dig, and that very few moves (like Sky Uppercut, Thunder in the rain, but definitely not those listed above) hit through Fly.

This is the US Version of HGSS if that makes any difference. Can anyone confirm this on their own cartridges?

Let me guess, it was against machamp/prevolutions? They can have no guard, which lets their moves always hit.

I'm almost certain that I used Fly with my Crobat at one point and the opponent's Qwilfish's Revenge didn't hit it on the first turn. Are you sure the opponent wasn't a Machamp with No Guard? I think that might have something to do with it.

Edit: Beaten

Edit2: @yayalex: Latias is a better Calm Mind user since it has better SpAtk, Spe, and Def. Use Dragon Pulse and Surf since they're only resisted by Empoleon and Shedinja. If you're worried about status, you could try Calm Mind/Dragon Pulse/Recover/Refresh.

I didn't want Dragon Pulse cause my Garchomp already has Outrage. I went for Blissey cause my Registeel uses Curse and they go together well because Blissey is so bulky in SpDef. It's just like no matter what I throw at Battle Frontier I get to Stage 5/6 and hit a wall.

Garchomp is a physical sweeper, it's amazing as what it does given the chance. Registeel is a physical wall, if it gets time to set up with Curse it's amazing at what it does. Just as much as I love (shiny)Blissey and Latias I can't get them to do what I want and they're constantly the weakest on my team.

Simple question: Does HG/SS have a similar Battle Frontier please God tell me it doesn't.

Ah I feel stupid now, of course, that makes sense. I remember hearing something about Fly being messed up on European versions of Platinum and thought maybe that carried over.

I'm still really surprised Latias/Latios aren't in Ubers. They seem really overpowered to be in the category they're in. Can anyone explain why?
Same with some others like Jirachi/Celebi. Ive had multiple occasions where they've swept my entire team on a bad day.

Latios is Uber and Latias is being tested now. Celebi has seven weaknesses and can't do much to Scizor without HP Fire and even then it needs a large SpAtk investment to OHKO it before it gets hit with U-turn. I can't really explain Jirachi as well, but it's types aren't very good offensively. Also, while they have a high BST, it isn't distibuted as well as something like Salamence. Probably the only reason Mew and Manaphy are Uber is because Mew has a massive movepool and Manaphy has Tail Glow and excellent coverage with Surf/Ice Beam/Grass Knot.

If one opts to use Specs Dialga, must Dragon Pulse be used as a reliability move with Draco Meteor, or should it be dropped for both Aura Sphere and Overheat?

I have a couple of questions concerning HGSS RNG.

1) What are the Monster frames for Latios/Latias, Suicune, and The Kanto Bird?

2) What method do I use for the pokemon mentioned above?

3) Do NPC steps still add +1 frames? Does this also apply to NPC Pokemon steps?

Thank you to whoever answers these.

Although I haven't attempted to abuse them, I have heard a few people who tried. The PIDs are set when you look in the machine (but if you SR, it will change next try). I don't believe they are frames 1, 2, 3 but they do have a set starting frame for each that I don't know. No one in the lab advances the frame, so you'll have to relly on waiting outside for the townspeople to move.

Thanks for all that clarification. I got my Chikorita's IVs and learned what the Seed had been for that particular soft reset, and through RNG Reporter learned that my Chikorita's PID was the one outputted by Frame 1 on the Seed.

If Cyndaquil and Totodile don't get Frame 2 and Frame 3, then does the game use another Seed to get their PID from Frame 1 on each of their Seeds? If so, is there a chance that the Seed revealed from Chikorita wasn't the actual Seed produced by the game at the time I hit Continue and was actually temporarily used when I pressed A on the machine?

every time i click on the strategy pokedex or the tier lists i get a white screen that says:

500- Internal Server Error

is it my computer or am i just missing something?

Would anyone happen to have some kind of indepth Voltorb Flip strategy guide? I need access to Ice Beam/Thunderbolt/Flamethrower and this game is making it impossible! =(
