Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I was told to catch Lugia and use him to check the Delay.
HOWEVER, a few problems is that when I enter the info, I have to check Date and Time...? I already made sure to note down the time I enter........even the date.
As soon as it is xx:00, I enter the game....if not a second later.

alright so I catch Lugia with master ball check ivs and then find frame. Then I can look up sets with the natures and ivs on them. Now from what I have gathered you can get some really good sets if you change the time so do I just change to the exact date and try to start the game when it hits what the time is supposed to be down to the last second?

Time has to be down to the exact 60th of a second.

Time has to be down to the exact 60th of a second.

SO I should probably use a stopwatch for this. Once I find a good set I can keep reseting the time so I can get my excact set then right? Also once I find the set I want can I usualluy count on just pressing a or do I have to advance the prng? I think I get the whole frame thing cuz it never changes but up to the excact time can I get it to where I don't have to walk any steps or do you always have to advance the RNG from 0 or the frame number when I start the game to the exact number for the IV set?

I am currently trying to RNG a Moltres in Soul Silver. I found my seed and then found my time and delay. I set up piketimer and i soft reseted at the appropriate time. I then advanced my frame by 6 by using the radio. I caught Moltres and it says No reasonable initial seed found check your date and time. I have checked my date and time and i have even tried changing the date to another one that goes with the seed. I also make sure to check the HG/SS delay option. What am i doing wrong?

P.S. 90% of the time the Moltres has a naive nature, but not the same IVs.

I remember reading this somewhere and just want to confirm whether it's me making up things or if this is actually true:
When you insert a GBA game into the bottom slot of your DS, does this affect your delay in anyway at all?
I wish to attempt to Method J some Pokemon that require the cartidge to be inserted, but don't wanna bother if I have to recailbrate :P
Thanks :3

It's really the same issue every time. There's nothing wrong with your game, you just have some part of the data wrong. Either you've got a stat or IV wrong, or you've got the date or time wrong. I do it all the time, and I just have to start from the date, etc and go through every single little thing again, and I always find where I put two numbers backwards or whatever. Just start from the first piece of info and put it all in again, and I'm sure you'll get it. :)

Does it go up or down?
E.g. My current delay is 600.
Inserting the cartidge would then make it 599 or 601...?
Or none of the above? o.O

It's hard to determine, because people don't constantly hit the exact same delay, so it doesn't really matter that much.

And G-Man, I just wanted to make sure that anyone who was just starting to RNG on another platform didn't get screwed up. As I said, it was a corollary, not a correction.

Well, thanks for telling me in a kinder way.

And speaking of delays, it really takes practice right? What should say happen if you find a common delay and end up having a Date of say, 2222?
What would your opinion be on that? Would the popular pikatimer fix that?

I never calibrated by just jamming 'A', I've used emloop since I began, and it lets me hatch/capture everything in a reasonable year, and it helps if you want to learn to RNG a ID/SID combo.

the highest year you can have on a DS is 2099 and the lowest is 2000

BLARG.
Alright, I'm back with another problem, but the strangest one I've ever faced :S
So I'm using RNG Reporter to try and Method J a Pokemon.
I'm also using an AR to check IV's and catch the darn thing.
I'm at Stark Mountain area just outside the entrance and I've rebattled and defeated the Dragon Tamer, meaning he shouldn't be messing with my frame advances.
HOWEVER
Everytime I check my seed using the coin flip, it keeps telling me that there is no matchs!
I've tried several times, and I keep getting no matches.
I've checked the date at least 10 times and I've also expanded the delay range for the coin flip check to look, but still no dice.
Anyone have any ideas...?

You either have your date wrong or are horrible at hitting your delay.

Why are you outside of Stark Mountain if your trying to catch a Method J? Its much better to save in front of the pokemon u wanna catch.

The date is definitely not wrong because I've verrified it a million times.
And I'm definitely not horrible at hitting my delay, since less than 10 minutes ago it was checking my stuff just fine and I caught something :S
And you can't save in front of trying to catch a wild Pokemon >.>

the coin flips don't work because the ash falling from stark mountain counts as a weather condition, and weather conditions screw around with the coin flips so you can't use the coin flips to check your seed/delay

Weather (such as the smoke in Stark Mountain) Affects the RNG and will make your coin flips off. So either abuse the Pokemon inside the cave (if it has an encounter slot)
Or I believe youll have to catch a pokemon and check its IV's and use the seed to time function to find your seed and delay
EDIT: DARN YOU NEX!

What are you trying to capture? And remember that if all else fails, you could just capture something and use that to make sure that you've been landing on the right delays for the next try.
