Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

The saga continues...

Im trying to calibrate my delay (again) after last nights hiccup, and I am getting really strange results;

14 482
36 486
27 488
17 502

Whats causing this? Ive synced the time on my pc and ds, and I reset the game a few seconds into a new minute.

Any ideas?

Outside of my time being wrong (which it isn't) why would the seed finder say "No reasonable result, check your time and date" repeatedly? :(

Which game? Is it HG/SS?

Am I correct in thinking that in HGSS, if you release the dogs, then kill them off, when they reappear when you beat the E4, their PID and IVs are done again from scratch, not the same as they were before you fainted them? Also, am I right in thinking that after they've been rereleased, if you kill them again, then beat the E4 again, they'll reappear again, and will keep doing so every time you beat the E4 until you catch them? And each time, they'll have a different PID and IVs?

Thanks for any help.

I'm really wondering about this too. Any help would be great.

Yes if you kill them and beat the E4 there IV's/Nature are re-set as soon as you beat lance, and yes you can keep respawning them this way.

Which is why I'm taking down any outside Pokemon.
So, how do I gets Latios to reappear?

I think Latios reappears the same way as entei and raikou: faint him then beat elite four. I haven't done this yet myself, but I have read what other people have done and am going based off of their experience. Besides, I don't see any reason why any roamer would be handled differently then others.

Yes to the above. Atleast people have confirmed for Raikou and Entei. I don't remember if someone posted confirmation for Lati@s, but I think they're handled the same way.

Jubilee, since you seem to know what you're doing, can we save right in the room w/ lance and advance the frame there for a roamer and not have to worry about wandering NPC or will they still affect advancing frames (in regards to wandering NPC in the E4 pokemon center)?

Yes. An American copy of silver. Playing on a DS Lite with emerald in slot 2... now I think of it my times starting playing up when I put emerald in. Il test it without.

Well Ive tested it again and got another random result, 35 491. My delays are similar but the seconds are wildly varying, must be something obvious im doing wrong?

Yes, you ARE doing something obviously wrong. If you want to get always the same seconds, you should ALWAYS reset at the same time, which means, when the DS clock reaches a new minute (00 seconds).

If you don't reset always at the same time, how do you want to get the same seconds value, considering that the seconds value is exactly that: how many seconds your DS clock is marking when you enter the game.

Ah right... I thought it only needed the time to the minute, and the pokemon caught would determine your delay and seconds... now I think about it thats pretty obvious!

Thanks.

So, I guess nobody knows if I can talk to Steven after I beat the E4, huh?
Thanks palkiaqua.

Edit: I too have a few occasions similar to Despotar, but for SS.

SO I should probably use a stopwatch for this. Once I find a good set I can keep reseting the time so I can get my excact set then right? Also once I find the set I want can I usualluy count on just pressing a or do I have to advance the prng? I think I get the whole frame thing cuz it never changes but up to the excact time can I get it to where I don't have to walk any steps or do you always have to advance the RNG from 0 or the frame number when I start the game to the exact number for the IV set?

Can anyone plz answer my question?

no matter what i do i can' hit my target frame, 44. i'm following this post by omegadonut.
Show Advances Location
Pokemon Music 1 frame (Sunday only, otherwise none) Upper-left
Pokemon Talk 14-18 frames, inconsistent Upper-right
That Town, These People 3 frames Lower-left
Buena's Password none Lower-right
Trainer Profiles 3 frames Lower-left
Pokemon Search Party 1 frame Lower-right
Silver Drama 1 frame Lower-right
i'm trying to catch ho-oh which i assume is frame 1, i tune into "trainer's profile" 11 times and "silver drama" 10 times simultaneously. Am i doing everything correct? also does it advance the frame if you leave the station running once your done and don't move it back to the center then go up a ladder?

EDIT: @Pokethan, i think yes to everything except you have to do whatever to advance the frame # unless your target frame is 1, pikatimer is a a good stopwatch to use.

After you catch him have you checked to see what frame he actually is on? Just adjust from there.

yeah i did it and thought i had it down but this time i got 54. However i didn't move the tuner back to the center of the radio when i was done and went up a ladder, would that mess it up. No runners.

In my experience, and I've tried following other peoples guides and adjusting things too, I've never once gotten the radio to advance consistently on my target seed. I don't know how other people have been doing it but w/e. I HAVE however, used the radio with it's inconsistent incriments of advancement to reach my target frame many many times though. If you got a frameof 54 on your seed, just take 53 and divide it by the total number of detunes you did, find the "average advancement" you're getting and adjust accordingly. There's NO guarantee it'll get you spot on 44 or whatever the very next time you try it, BUT I can 100% guarantee you that if you do the same number of detunes on the same seed it will give you the exact same advancements (albeit with possibly inconsistent incriments) unless ofcourse you do something else screwy, but that's up to you.

Im agree with you, I have never got the radio to advance my frames consistentley, I always have to re-adjust my frames like 4-6 times =/

Could someone possibly teach me to RNG Wondercards? I have the Shaymin one ready to go.
If you help me get a flawless you can have Semi redis rights to it! PM me!

ok i just got the exact same ho-oh on the right seed again but i hit frame 54 again, i'm not sure i understand what to do? i detuned after i switched to each station so would that be 53/20, the second time i did 53/21 and still got a frame of 54, what would i do next? i did 21 the second time because after i was finished i moved it back to the center so i guess use the 53/20?
