Only amateurs use Dittos for breeding, well that may be a bit arrogant to say.

However, as Girathon stated. Egg moves and TM moves must come from the father, in order to breed baby pokemon w/ level up moves both parents must know a move that the offspring can learn on its own through leveling up.

Ditto raping is just for the lazy.
 
I have a team of Croconaw, Ivysaur, Togetic, [and Scizor if I want it].

I'm playing SoulSilver.. and need some tips and help on another Pokemon. I just got past the Ghost/Poison Gym.. Morty..

So I'm in need of new types for my team.. or maybe more of the same types.. idk.

In my PC atm: [for ideas]

Nidorino
Vulpix
Eevee
Nidorina
Miltank

Now I know my PC doesn't have much.. but what do you think, from a quick glance, I can grab and catch to make my team deal with most types, etc.

@Pokerade: For the sake of being able to fly, lol, you probably want a bird. Togekiss might be able to learn fly, but the thing fares better in a special environment. Not to mention your next gym = fighting and the one right after that = steel based. After that is ice (which also means water too most likely). 8th gym = dragon based. Feraligatr can really handle all of them...but adding in a flying and a fire wouldn't really hurt imo. For in game only of course.
 
So something along the lines of;

Feraligatr, Venusaur, Togetic, Vulpix, Scizor?

Togetic will be able to do my Flying abilities, and still have enough slots for 3 solid moves.

But yeah.. I see Steels being a real pain.. and tbh.. i dont know if Scizor will be doing too much for me.. but I do need a psychic/ghost killer..
 
Get a ghost of your own if you're that afraid of psychic and ghosts, lol. I would suggest dark...but they don't come too easily in game. And Scizor does well in any setting really, lol...except maybe against Sunny Days, lol.
 
Pokerade, Weezing works well for steels and ghosts, as it can learn Dark Pulse and Flamethrower. Heck, it'll even do nicely against slow psychics. One of the Pokemon I used throughout HeartGold was a Weezing, and it was one of my best Pokemon. As for Scizor, Technician/STAB boosted Bullet Punch will rip through anything that doesn't have good defenses, which includes quite a few psychics.

If you're still after a Dark-type, aside from evolving Eevee, you can catch Murkrow in the Safari Zone. I wouldn't recommend the Safari Zone, though. Bad experience. Shiny Ekans fled...

And with a Vulpix on your team, why do you say Steels will be a problem? You DO know they're Fire-types, right?

Is there a way to check exact IVs on lower levelled pokemon (pre-50) without using AR? I'm trying to breed some specific Hidden Powers and veekun only shows me a range. I ended up with a Hidden Power Normal on my Choice Specs Lucario ><
 
Wow, that's much more accurate than Veekun with enough rare candies to show a decent level spread. Thanks.

Next question now though, what's the easiest way to find my SID in DPPt. After breeding a good 150 togepi's, I want to learn RNG manipulation =p
 
I have been soft-resetting for a Timid Lugia. Now I have my Synchronizer Timid Abra leading the party, but I was wondering if anyone knows when Lugia's Nature/IVs are actually set? I saved right before the Kimono Girls do their dance and I am getting tired of watching them dance every time I reset.

I would assume that since the Nature changes and has been Timid most of the time, that it sets when I engage in battle with Lugia. Can anyone conform this for me please?

I understand what the Species Clause it, but I had a few friends who were wondering why it is put in place in OU. They contend that if you're dumb enough to stick 6 of the same species on a team, you're just leaving yourself open to being swept by a single counter, and also that having two or three of the same species of Pokemon on a team shouldn't have too much of an effect. So I guess my question is:

What is the purpose of the Species Clause?

Multiple answers appreciated :D
 
I was battling the other day and some guy was using Wake Up Slap on my rotom-a and it kept waking from its rest, is this a glitch on shoddy or does it work on wifi? Thanks in advance.

There are many controversial reasons as to why Species Clause should not be allowed. One reason I can give you is that it scrambles the metagame up so badly that there can be so many different tactics. For example, lets say you have a team and you have your Scarf Jirachi with Thunderpunch to counter Dragon Dance Gyarados. Without Species clause, the opponent is able to carry as many Gyarados as he wants. Obviously, with Species clause up when you defeat your opponent's Gyarados, you have NO idea at all how many Gyarados' your opponent might have. He might have another one waiting to sweep you after weakening your counter (and knowing your only counter). This completely destroys expectations/predictions in battling. While it's almost impossible to create a team to counter a specific Pokemon as there may be as much as 6 of that same Pokemon in your opponent's team.

If your opponent's Pokemon has the ability "Scrappy," then this is NOT a glitch. Scrappy allows your Pokemon to hit Ghost-type Pokemon with Normal attacks. If your opponent's Pokemon did not have this ability, then this is a glitch and you should report it in the Shoddy forum.
 
If you already encountered roaming Entei/Raikou but didn't even touch it, will the next time you encounter it be the exact same Entei/Raikou? (IVs, Nature)
