Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

(Ok, first time back into pokemon in about 3 years, so I'm way out of date on a lot of things. I've only just started with rng abusing decent-spread shiny legendaries.)

How does one go about making sure you are rng-ing for the right species of Poke in the wild? Emerald RNG-ing seems to involve just redo-ing the process if the species ends up being the wrong one. I haven't found any statement of this sort regarding DPP in any of the guides.

About how many frames at max would you guys consider RNG-ing for in DPP (capturing method-wise; I don't know if the frame counts are different for RNG breeding)? I've been setting the max frame to be 4-5K. I don't know if that's considered a lot or a little.

Is there any way to tell where the shiny+multi-31 spreads are for my id/sid without simply setting my max frame search to ridiculously high levels (does that even work?)?

Encounter Slots. Every Frame of a Seed has a different Encounter Slot, RNG Reporter tells you about that and it helps you by calculating them which you can find out then by a Sheet which RNG Reporter links you to.

For the max frame: it depends. I'm lazy and so I rarely even go over 500.
It is always the High Delay vs High Frame Question, High Delay is worth it.
But yeah I've also heard already of guys reaching 4K and higher but this is rather rare if you ask me.

Also OmegaDonut has worked out a nice way to get multiple nice shiny spreads, check his sig for that .

I think that stands out above all else as ALMOST necessary.... lol

I'm rather eagerly waiting for mingot impelementing the Seed Verifier, as this was one of the things that actually are needen most if you ask me.xD
HG/SS IV Breeding yeah nice, but with Kazos Breeding Method (only B inheritance) and his worked out spread it also worked out fine. So Seed Verifier is more important to me :P

I don't follow you... seed verify? I just catch a wild poke.... (although this would be a TREMENDOUS help with Suicune, or Zapdos....) I'm assuming this would of course be some sort of solution to always having to catch a poke?

speaking of which... does anybody have any Bold Hidden Power Ice, Modest Hidden Power Grass, and Calm Hidden Power Ground Method K spreads? (synch, no synch, I don't care) I mean... its cool if I don't get an answer... but it would just make my job a WHOLE lot easier....

This is an .EXE version of the Standalone Seed Verifier for DPPt and HG/SS.
Anyone who wants to play around with it please do so.

I'd like to know about some things, and due to not being able to use DeSmuMe at the moment maybe anyone of you who is bored can clear up some remaining questions.

Meaning: By using answer patterns of Calling Elm, or the Position of the Roamers, it is possible to verify your seed WITHOUT catching a Pokemon.
Similar to the Poketch Coin Toss Method in DPPt

This was just a beta for people who wanna play around with it and see if it works ( it does btw.xD)

But I sent mingot the source code and he says he understands the process and will implement this (hopefully soon) in RNG Reporter.

Edit: If you wanna use it: For the Elm Method you gotta have shown Elm the Togepi Egg, been in Kanto and also have a Pokemon that has Pokerus so he calls you about every of this incidents.

For the Roamers: Basically easy you got a map with marks, Seed Verifier gives you the numbers of the Roamers on particular Seed so you can see if you are on your desired seed.
Only thing I don't know yet is what the entry boxes for the Routes are for, but I hope that mingot knows and he'll know what to do with it.xD
Anyways it also works without the boxes.

lol.... well that seems useful for the most part... but cant be used for Raikou, Entei, Luia, or Ho-Oh (well... unless Roamers is a completely different method from calling elm) due to the fact that you can't be in Kanto for any of them... and ESPECIALLY for Raikou/Entei because at that point you cannot have roamers at all... and you aren't in Kanto.... but I suppose it would help for SAuicune (a LOT I bet)... hmm.... I think I just MAY try it with Suicune....

This was my very first thought too, BUT you forget something:

1. You can respawn Raikou, Entei, Lugia, Ho-Oh at E4
2. You don't have to be in Kanto for the Method you just have to been there once in order to get the call, but not for the method itself

OH... I thought you HAD to be in Kanto... and the thing about Raikou and Entei is that it is VERY hard to get them after the E4....

The problem is, though, that it doesn't actually work like that and it won't always work. I don't even think it works most of the time.

Actually it does on a few seeds only it seems, so no matter what it was very important to find out about HG/SS IV breeding method.

Btw mingot about Seed Verifier:
gamefan87 found out that by calling Elm the Frame is advanced everytime constantly +1.
Maybe this should be taken into account as verifying your seed would advance your frame actually +10 if you use the Elm Method.
 
You can't really advance the egg frames as far as I know so you have to keep getting eggs to advance to the shiny one. It sounds like a pain.
Nah not really. RNG Reporter 7.3 supports low shiny egg frames, so you even can get a shiny egg on Frame 1, so the very first egg you would fetch would be a shiny too.
 
Alright, I'm really, REALLY confused here. I decided to give this RNG reporter thing a shot. I did a calibration test and got my initial seed. The next step says to do 10 coin flips, but I'm in Heart Gold and don't have the app...what am I supposed to do next?

I'm trying to catch things with decent IVs, so I'm guessing I do method J, but how do I select which one I want to capture in a given area?
 
I have the hours of the alternating radio shows so people don't have to worry about the inconsistent "That Town, These People" radio show.

I think I have gotten Honey Tree abuse down so far, but I'm not 100% sure, so here is what I did (If I did anything wrong someone please correct me):
1) I calculated which of my trees were Munchlax tree.
2) I went to a tree that was not a Munchlax tree.
3) I hit a specific seed: bb16028a
4) I am trying to catch Heracross, which is row 6 column 2. Frame 11 appears to yield the requirements:
PID 1: 762C28E3 - last four converted to decimal = 10467/656 = 15.9 = 15
PID 2: B0FF00CD - last four converted to decimal = 205/656 = 0.3 = 0

So if I did my calculations correctly, random number call 1 (on frame 11) yields the number 15, which translates into Column 2. Random number call 2 (on the PID immediately after frame 11) is 0, which translates into row 6.

So I have done this for a non Munchlax tree: Hit the target seed (bb16028a), did 5 page flips which advanced it by 10 to frame 11, and slathered the tree with Honey. Six hours from now, the pokémon that appears in the tree should be Heracross, correct?
 
are the starters oak gives you all starting at frame 1? by the looks of it they are generated once you intereact with the pokeball so has anyone tested this?

As I recall they were just the same as Elm Ones(1,5,9) but I never could reset for one at it, the RNG jumps all over the place, it is very hard after all.

what about the ones you get from Steven?... I'd assume those are resettable... and due to nobody being in the Silph Co. building it would be easier.... (I really want a Hidden Power Grass Blaziken) and of course... what are the starting frames?

Why not breed it then?
I mean the ones you receive from Steven are in a Pokeball anyways, not a big difference.
And sorry I don't recall the Frames but I'll probably be able to tell you tomorrow.

cooler location?.... lol... that's it... I mean the same thing could be said for Oak or Elm's starters.... purely location... as you get extra kewl points for that :pimp:
 
well here are the initial frame for Oak's starters odd enough they appear on the same frame

Bulbasaur: frame 5
Charmander: frame 5
Squirtle: frame 5

there is only one NPC that moves in the lab and his movements are very spontaneous so keep an eye on him and try not to let him move too much since in one turn he advanced by 2 then he turned again and it advanced by 1 so he is most likely not consistent. This was done with no roamers out as I fainted raikou and didn't release latias.

High delay vs high frame? I'm under the assumption a higher max frame gives you more spreads to choose from, and a higher delay is only needed if you want to change the year or something like that?
And ID finder seems to be for rng abusing id/sid. Does it help with finding shiny spreads for my current id/sid?
 
I'm new to RNG reporter and i am trying to hatch shinies, but i cannot get an initial seed by using IVs. i always get an error message saying "No matches found for the IVs entered. please check and try again". i have a clock synced to my DS so i know that i am getting the correct time. I am using an action replay to check the IVs of the Pokemon i catch. does anyone know a solution to this, i cannot catch pokemon that are 50+ because i recently restarted my pearl game and i have not obtained the national dex.

EDIT: nvm, i tried getting the initial seed using stats and it worked. i got a sassy shiny steelix now :)
