So, because a few butthurt purists frown upon it, you get blacklisted for it? Who cares if you get loads of shinies on one game save? How does that negatively affect anyone? If you trade one of them, the person on the other end of the trade gets a flawless shiny, which is 100% legal. Yay. If you battle with it, its IVs are completely, 100% produced by the game with zero intervention form external devices, so it doesn't affect your opponent in the slightest. The only thing that has been changed is a piece of information which results in the game producing an aesthetic change.
Not to mention the fact that actually getting the shinies still requires a lot of effort and skill.

What seed and frame are you aiming for? If it's a 5x flawless Adamant spread, there's one on frame 2 on the seed C20B0AF4, which I managed to get without having to do any RNG advances bar walking a step on the floor below Ho-Oh. If it's another spread, give me the seed and frame, and I'll try to see what's going wrong for you.

I didn't make the rules, I'm just letting you know that they do exist. If you wanna do that, just go ahead. Don't come bitching if you get blacklisted for this, since if you look closely, Clear is blacklisted for hacking his ID/SID for flawless shinies purposes.

There is an app to help you legitimately achieving your ID/SID. If you're too lazy to use it, just stay away of it, but don't come here saying that hacking your ID/SID is the same, because it's not even close.

Edit: Also, it DOES hurt the community. If one person is just able to change his ID/SID at will, to get infinite flawless shiny spreads, he does steals trades from the others, who did achieve their ID/SID legitimately, and have a limited number of shiny spreads to abuse. If you can't see that, you are just looking at your own benefits from hacking the ID/SID.
 
Anyone know what is up with Pikatimer? I have tried to download the .Jar file and open it..... even downloaded BitZipper (which is supposed to allow me to access the program) but I am not having any luck opening it up..... anyone care to enlighten me....

You're doing the steps in a place with random encounters, and that does advance the frame a lot more than 5 for each 128 steps.

You need a Java Virtual Machine installed on your computer to run Pikatimer.

Correctly.
I mean it's just the same about hacking pokemon.
If you trade hacks, you screw over the efforts the others had while RNGing a Pokemon maybe for days or even weeks!

I mean gee I RNGed like 3 hours for my ID/SID on my Retail Cart only because I was stupid and didn't take one thing into account.xD

But you know what? I'm proud of it and I was way more satisfied with it because I know:
I worked for it, I worked hard for it.

Btw: I RNGed it even without Emloop and Pikatimer, just a plain clock with seconds reading so don't complain it's too hard guys it is possible (well I get always trouble with Emloop and Pikatimer so I simply did the maths by myself:D)

Hacking, Cheating, I mean come on, this is for the weak, we got no weaks here do we?:)

That's very strange... are you sure you're saved right in front of Ho-Oh? And by that I mean, when you load the game, all you have to do is press the A button and the battle starts?

You see that we got a second output?
This is a nice feature to verify your current frame but for now we use it with the Roamer only.
Please notice the "-Entei Advancement" right to 2 and the Evolution message.

Now Japanese calculate a bit differen than we do, so the 2 is actually a 3 as there is no Frame 0 actually.
What this means for us?
At this Seed, our Starting Frame due to Entei Roaming is 3.

Question about this part of Romsster's guide.
The Entei Advancement is next to 1, not 2.

Doesn't that mean the starting frame is actually 2 instead?

So if I were using the same spread, and I was trying to catch ho-oh.
My starting frame is 2, Ho-oh is 1. So I deduct 3 from the advances needed. Correct?

But that's not it at all. I'd much prefer to use legitimate means to get the right ID/SID, but that requires me to restart my game, which I really don't want to do, because I've got some great in-game pokémon which I wouldn't be able to use if I restarted since they're now all overleveled. Not to mention that restarting my game is a major inconvenience, in terms of having to go through the whole game just to get a particular shiny spread.

But then, anyone else could do exactly the same thing. My AR cost me £15. Many people who run trade threads already have an AR for cloning, IV checking etc. So they could easily do it too.

I can understand why some people might not like it, but so long as I admit to it openly, I don't see any justification for blacklisting someone.

ID/SID combo would mean nothing for pokemons that aren't shiny, which is your case, so why would checking that help you at all?

So is there no way of telling if the ID/SID of my traded pokemon are made up? I guess thats what Im getting at, since I know in early dp it was common to check for an SID of 00000, so just wondering if theres a way of working out whether the ID corresponds to the SID.
 
You could search it in the ID Finder. If you find it, see how long the delay is. If it's anything less than 3,000 in any of the games, it's not legit. Honestly, no one is going to wait an extra minute to hit a higher delay since you can find a combo on just abouet any given delay, so if it's super high as well it could make you a bit uneasy.

You should be in front of the Ho-oh and walk 128 steps, without going down the ladder. That's all. I've done it. Up there, the RNG is calm.

@domk275: it is blacklistable, that's all there is to it. There are some actions that we at Smogon consider over the line. I, myself, think that if you do it for one spread, because you don't want to start a new game, you will do it whenever you want to catch a different poke. I find it unfair with all the folks who DID go thru the trouble of starting a new game just to have nicer shiny spreads. So yeah, don't want to start a new game? Stick to the ID/SID you got randomly when you started the game. Will not do it, and rather hack your ID/SID? Don't complain if you are blacklisted later. I'm no moderator myself, but I would certainly try to get anyone who hacked his ID/SID to be blacklisted, because I didn't need to do that, and I won't be confortable with anyone who can get any shiny spread they want just being able to trade here and "steal" trades from other, honest traders.

Oh yeah you're right. You know I updated the pics the other day but forgot to update the text.
You're right, sorry, correcting it.
I wrote it right in the Elm Guide, but updatet the pics for Roaming later and didn't update the text.
Anyways I gotta rewrite that in the prog anyways it's just so confusing.xD

Updated and just for explaining:

For getting your actual frame, just add +1 to know your Starting Frame.
 
Walking is inconsistent in this game. It does have random advances for some reason. I tried to use walking to abuse my Entei while saved right before battling Lance and I somehow hit a frame 14 higher than my target. The best way to advance is call Elm or use the radio, bottom right is the most consistent.

EDIT: What is the starting frame for Kyogre? Please respond soon, as I only have a short amount of time before the radio changes and I'll have to wait another hour.
