Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Thanks acid paradox.

So, if I wanted to catch a Trophy Garden Ditto, I would need to find a spread with an encounter slot of either 6 or 7?
That pretty much sums it up :)
Remember to use Method J (obviously). Bring a synchronizer too. Bringing a nature-synching pokémon will increase the amount of identical spreads that appear, giving you the ability to choose from multiple encounter slots as opposed to just one.

BTW, did anybody requested before to make an RNG program for Voltorb Flips?
I like to have many coins, but you can't buy it now, so it will be a good idea for someone to do RNG on Voltorb Flips.
We like it to do the quicker way, not wait for a million years to get 99,999 coins.
Reason for getting the coins is to RNG the Game Corner Pokemon, like Eevee, Porygon, etc...

Just like checking your seed in catching Pokes, we can also check our seed by seeing what pattern will show up on the game board or something.
And if there will be a program, it must also show what boards have number 3s, 2s, or Voltorbs...

Anyway, it'll be a good idea if someone will create an RNG Reporter on Voltorb Flips...

Some Rules

Please do not make "Help me find my SID" requests in this thread! For that you may use the Simple Questions sticky in this forum. If you have a naturally caught (non-chained, non-bred) shiny you can get your SID from RNG Reporter. If you have between 4 and 7 chained shinies you can get your SID from RNG Reporter.

Can someone with an AR help me get my SID?

Is there way to know what frame you land on when abusing IV's, without checking the egg IV's against all possible flip frames (as each sequence of flips is the same for roughly 7 different frames all located in a range, say 12-19)?

no you have to look at the egg's IVs to check what frame you landed on

For anyone that's done HGSS Breeding, after you do your advancements, is there a delay in NPC movement? The guy on the bottom of route 34 is usually very finicky but he made no movements in between exiting the pause screen and picking up my egg. I had a brief pause in between as well.

So I was taking a stroll through the trade threads for the first time in 2-ish years, and after getting over my shock of everything being flawless and shiny, I noticed that many people had multiple flawless, shiny spreads of different natures. I was under the assumption, having used OmegaDonut's spreadsheet, that you could only get a small number of such spreads on a given cart. If that is correct, do all these trade threads involve the use of multiple cartridges? (Or less likely, running through a new game?) Or is there some other way to get such a variety of shiny, flawless spreads that I missed reading up on?

Nope. It's either the spreadsheets or multiple cartridges. Or both.

I suspect hacking of the ID\SID in some instances, though.

Is there something strange about Lake Acuity in Platinum? I keep getting WAY off in my flips. I'm trying to get to a frame of 469 and I'm getting an even number for some reason. Normally I don't make mistakes except for the occasional miscount. Any ideas?

oic.
Is there any way to hack-check?
There used to be some PAC(K?) program that may or may not have worked.
Planning on getting some trading done when I'm done with college in a month and have access to wifi.
Kind of want to test some of my old trades too, since I didn't have an R4 back then.

Sure. Plug the ID of the Pokemon into Pandora's Box along with PID of the shiny Pokemon. Check "Infinite Search" and see if any ID\SIDs match that of the Pokemon. However, this takes a long time, and there's nothing preventing someone from using Pandora's Box to research a legit combo to hack beforehand.

So, there's no way to catch a hacker who isn't RNG-illiterate?
And I was looking for more of an all-purpose hack checking program (i.e. detect pokesav'd mons, possibly alongside this newer id/sid hacking), or do those not/did those never exist?

Never existed. The program legal.exe over at projectpokemon.com catches badly-done Pokesav hacks, but that's it.

trying to find my average delay by catching a pokemon in HG and rare candying it up in Platinum to find its IVs. The seed finder hasn't spit out any results for any of my three trials. I ran around in the grass for trial 1 and sweet scented for trials 2 and 3 if that matters. So does this method of mine not work, do I have to keep trying still, or is there something else wrong? Im pretty sure Im putting in the right date and everything and Im using Metalkid's IV calculator.

There are guys Blacklisted because of this. So, if you try it, and get caught (and you WILL be caught), you will be blacklisted, and probably forever.

I meant to write this last night, but then smogon just stopped working, so I'm posting it now.

Why would I be blacklisted? Your ID/SID is perfectly able to be manipulated, so it's not as if you're hacking to produce something that's impossible, or ridiculously unlikely. And, the produced pokémon would pass every hack check in existance, since you're not manipulating any of the fundamental inner workings of the game, you're just supplying it with altered information, to produce a desired result.
Also, since shininess is a purely aesthetic factor, you could argue that someone should be blacklisted for using a "100% catch rate" code so that they could easily get a particular pokémon in the most suited ball.

I have a question >.<
I´ve killed Entei and Raikou, but now I want to rng Hooh.
I´m always hitting the delay, but Frame is always too high. I need Frame,so I have to run 128 with 5 pokemon.
But Frame is alway like 169 or something? When I´m not raising the frame,it´s between 15 and 30 >.<
Why is it so?

Please help me =(

Im in a similar boat and want to check some old trades, most of them are not shiny so is there anyway to check the ID/SID to make sure it is a legal combo? Most of these will be pre-rng anyway.

Because being able to do easily something that should be able to be easily achieved, as changing your ID/SID without the need to start a new game, and being able to get LOTS of different and incompatible shiny spreads on the same game, is WAY over the line, my friend.

ID/SID combo would mean nothing for pokemons that aren't shiny, which is your case, so why would checking that help you at all?

Caught my first RNG abused Pokemon in HeartGold: a Timid Zapdos with 31s across the board. It seems that calling Youngster Joey does indeed advance the frame by exactly 2 each time, as I did this 30 times to reach the frame I needed.

I'd just like to say thanks again to everyone who has contributed to this thread. It's been a huge help.
