I don't know about you guys but I want this game to be totally out there. We're talking way bigger than the special/physical change for Gen IV. Skateboards, cars, battle system doing a complete 180, new pokes, evos, totally unique HMs, maybe even a Final Fantasy-esque time-based battle system--just something wholly new, unique, epic, and engaging. I'm talking like maybe even so far changed it could be compared to Pkmn Rangers or Mystery Dungeon. Let's shake things up for once!
If people don't really like the game I by no means say "Well, too bad, screw you." But, they can always play the last gen together and enjoy that. I wish the point of Pokemon wasn't just updates to the same game. Even Game Freak knows it's time for a change--We've pretty much covered all of the basics legendary-wise: (Sky, Earth, Ocean, Time, Space, Feelings, Alt. Dimension, Origin). At some point while making Gen IV they knew the next gen after it would take the series in a different direction. They've even given us a second chance to get all of the event pokemon just in case we didn't the first time. IMO, they're ready to cut this gen off. Sure, I'd like us to be able to bring in our old pokes to Gen V, but when will the developers say "Enough is enough" and cut off that kind of support? I mean, think about it--We will be able to have pokes in our Black/White cards that could have potentially been caught on our Gamecube. And when the next Nintendo home console comes out and they make a game similar to PBR on it, we'll be able to transfer said pokes from our 3DS to it. That's Gamecube --> GBA --> DS (Gen IV) --> 3DS (iknowiknow Gen V can be played on a regular DS) --> Nintendo's next home console. That's a 2 console generation gap, not to mention all of the back and forth between portable and home console. I'm just saying things are getting a little involved--how long can it last?
I guess what I'm saying is that I want there to be a reason that this last gen doesn't become completely obsolete--kinda like Gen III. Sure, you can replay it for nostalgia and to remember a time when there were slightly less pokes, but other than that, there really isn't a big point besides RNGing and cloning in Emerald now that we can get/literally catch every poke in the current gen. And yes, Gen I and II can and always will be fun. I just want this new Gen V to be such an awesomely epic, original, and different experience that it stands apart from the rest of the series--so we can look back at this current Gen IV and remember it as a uniquely fun time, instead of just another update. I want the game to be like the first time I picked up a Pkmn game, which in all honestly, is how it should be.
So bring on those game changing announcements! I, at least, am ready!
