Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Okay, I'm a little confused here. I've been jumping around the thread and the influx of information is breaking my brain.

I'll start with my goal: I want to hatch a couple shinies in HGSS.

What I've done so far:
Found my SID.

Now am I understanding what I have to do correctly:
-start the game
-find my seed (how? with elm or something?)
-enter the data into RNG reporter and get a frame number
-advance to that frame by calling elm
-get the egg?

Obviously I'm quite clueless. I don't need to clutter the thread, but if somebody could either point me towards a way to get started or PM me and help out, I'd appreciate it greatly.

Ive gotten my seed down I think. Im plugging my info into pikatimer and im assuming wanted delay I put in my delay from Time finder. But what do I set for Calibrated delay? I appologize if im asking to many dumb questions. But im fairly confused.

Quick question
Im gonna attempt to do flawless iv abuse for eggs and shiny eggs.

Here's my question
1: When I start and look for a seed get my egg shiny or have a specific nature/ability/ and etc, Do I start at frame 3 or does the new Rngreporter already calculate that?

2. Since the happiness and coin flip app are gone, I advance the frame with the radio correct until I reach my desired frame?

3. Since the Journal is gone, I also advance the frame with the radio as soon as I enter the world?

Thanks in advance
I just downloaded the RNGreporter but wont rng till tomorrow.

Heyo.. I'm having a small issue. I have been RNGing on my diamond game for several months now, and recently (this past weekend after receiving a couple of wondercard pokemon and wifi pokemon at Tekkoshocon) I seem to be unable to get things correctly. I've had some really easy tap/flips and have failed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Has anyone else noticed that when using PikaTimer, the beeps are really inconsistent? Like, at the SR countdown, the first two beeps are about a second apart, but then the third is a little later, then the final one is a little later still? I've managed to kinda get used to it, but I still find it annoying when I'm trying to hit a new seed.

Anyone else had this problem?
I've never noticed any inconsistencies in the beeps. I have noticed that I tend to be further off the mark when aiming for long delays with Pikatimer though. If I'm aiming for ~6000 delay then I have to adjust Pikatimer's output by at least 10 frames. Not that big of a hassle, though.

Can somebody please tell me what to do to get a shiny egg is hgss after I know what time it has to be? I've been trying for a few days now and I just need somebody to give me a quick tut. Plz help

Set your DS to the right time and date, then use a timer like emloop or pikatimer to enter the game with (hopefully) the right delay (you can find a guide to using emloop on the first page). You'll probably have to calibrate a few times until you're hitting near the right delay. Once you are, check your initial seed, either using the roamers, calls to Prof. Elm, or simply catching a Pokémon and checking its IVs/stats. When you've got the right initial seed, start generating eggs; for HG/SS, you're presumably going for an egg close to your initial seed.

Aaaarrgh! I cant hit my delay! Everytime i check the coin flips none of them match around the delay or seconds im aiming for! Does this mean im hitting a time WAAYYY to many seconds off?

Possibly... You can always catch a Pokémon and inout its IVs/stats to see exactly what seed you did hit.

In HG/SS, so far no one's found a way to advance the IRNG except by generating eggs; so, using the method you posted, you'd need to advance the frame by continually generating eggs, and it could take thousands of eggs until you get to the shiny one, which isn't ideal. A better way in HG/SS is to change the time/date on your DS and hit the right delay to ensure that one of the next few eggs will hatch out shiny; there's a tool in RNGReporter to look for low frame eggs for this purpose, I believe. You'll need to use RNGReporter to find a low frame egg with the right nature/ability/shininess, then use the Seed to Time to find out what time to set your DS to and use the 'phone calls to Elm/roamers/catching a Pokémon to check your seed before generating eggs.

1. The frame 3 is only for the IVs; the IRNG always starts at frame 1.

2. The IRNG's frames in HG/SS can so far only be advanced by generating eggs (if anyone could find another way to do it, it would be really useful!)

3. For getting the IVs, yes, use the radio or 'phone to advance the frame.

is it still, alright to ask something regarding dppt rng, because i assume most questions addressed are pointing to hg/ss. D:

Ok so i did all of the steps except for the last part where you need to soft-reset for the final result, but it comes to a point that i think im not hitting my delay. i think i have a delay of 625. i tweaked the values in the "find adjacent results" tab and got my target. i remember somebody telling me to use the coin flip to check the "heads/tails" to match to what i hit. i got my calibration frame of 5, target of 11.

my questions:
1. how do i even hit my delay anyway?
2. So when should i use the coin flip, after getting the egg?
3. i need to hit continue as indicated in the target time, just like how i hit continue during my calibration phase right, my average is 14 seconds.

I assume you're breeding for IVs, right?

1. Hitting your delay mostly requires trial and error. The guides are written on the assumption that you'll work out what delay you get most often from button mashing and then aim for that delay in future; if that's your method, you might want to adjust the year of your DS to make the delay an easier one to hit. Alternatively you can use a timer such as emloop to help you hit any delay.
2. Yes, use the coin flip to check what your initial seed was after you've done the frame advancements with the journal and picked the egg up. This saves the time it would take to hatch the egg.
3. As with the delay, you can either button mash and aim for your most frequent one or use a timer to hit any time you desire...

I'm new to both this forum and RNG, so I'm confused alot. Please try and answer following questions if u know them:

1. Is it possible to catch ANY pokemon in wild with desired stats instead of just the Legendary roaming and non roaming pokemon?
2. If yes, then is the method different? If so, then how?

1. Yes

2. Try the first page of this thread and try to read and understand, if you tried your best and didn't understand it, then come back again and ask concrete questions what you did not understand and maybe then it would be easier to help you.

We got many great guides there and if you really read and try you'll understand it.

Ok. So I think I get whats written about this RNG method. So in order to catch shiny pokemon, I need to know my SID? Can anyone tell me my SID by looking at one of my pokemon pls then? :)

Hello guys. I need some tips now. I am trying to get an RNG Abused Suicune in my SS. I am already getting very near to my seed so I decided to save in front of Suicune and start the reset process but near him I don´t know why the Elm Check stuff doesnt seem to work at all. Like the results I am getting with them are not even near within a 40 Range in Seed Verifier.. so I am thinking there is something tricky about this. Anyone already got a RNG Suicune in SS to give me a hand?

Please read the rules in the first post of this thread.

Same goes for you - read the rules to find out what you're forgetting to mention.

You haven't? That's odd... I might try downloading it again.

Downloading software again doesn't solve anything. The files are going to be exactly the same. It changes nothing. I don't know why people keep thinking it's somehow a cause of their problems.

You'll notice those inconsistent beeps more often if you have other applications fighting for CPU resources.

Someone in the FRLG RNG research thread mentioned that the frames sometimes seems to advance at 60 frames a second, other times 59. That's not something we can control, but it might explain your having to adjust with large delays.

Ah, I see. I'll try closing down as many programs as possible in future.

Hello OmegaDonut. well I figured out what was my mistake.... my target time was 08:59:21 and I was getting in 08:59:22 dunno why... Resetting the time at 08:58 I was putting 81.5 s of delay + SR timer, reduced to 81.2 and everything went fine.. 31/31/31/31/30/31 Bold Suicune :)

okay... after waiting 2 hours for my Time finder to finish it's search (I had a HUGE search) I have no results... so I was wondering if anybody had any Method K seeds for the following

Timid: Hidden Power Grass (31/x/31/31/30/31)
Calm: Hidden Power Ice (31/x/30/31/31/31)
Calm: Hidden Power Ground (can't remember for the life of me)

In my opinion, the Time Finder is best used for only finding eggs. If you want to find good candidate seeds for those spreads FAST, use the Seed Finder with Open Search checked. Just plug in the IVs of the spread you want and it'll generate a list of possible seeds in one second.

I found these in about 30 seconds using the spreadsheet linked in the RNG manipulation article.
