Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Ok. So basically the most important part is the part I don't understand.
Could anyone point me in the direction of a very straight forwards guide to hitting your Seed?

EDIT: Also, I'm getting a number with 6 digits for My SID. Has anyone else had this problem? Is it a bad code? Or is it as simple as using the first or last 5 digits?

To hit your seed requires two elements; you need to hit A on the continue screen at exactly the right time and date (to the nearest second), and you need to get the right delay.

Getting the right time and date is pretty easy; simply set your DS calender and clock, synchronising the clock with either a timer (such as emloop), a second clock, a watch, a stopwatch, the clock on your computer, whatever. It's then pretty simple to use this so that you press A at the right time.

The harder part is hitting your delay. The delay is a quick countdown of about 60 per second that occurs from turning the game on until you press A on the continue screen. Usually, you'll be soft resetting (hold L, R, Start and Select) to restart the game, so the delay counts from when you soft reset until you enter the game.

The best way of hitting your delay is to use a timer programme. Here's a link to emloop: http://pokem.client.jp/emloop.htm
and here's a guide for how to use it:

(Though, there are slightly better ways to use it...)

Ok, I'm in front of Bulbasaur IN the pokegear screen and I've hit my seed which is 9317020F, delay 489, 3/25/2010. Frame 154 method 1 (31/29/31/31/31/31) Calm nature. I've messed up quite a few times before. I advanced to frame 153(150 advances b/c of Raikou and Entei) the first time I tried and ended up w/Quirky which was frame 158.

I read Nexus's post and realized why, the starters are frame 5. So the second time I advanced 146 frames to reach 149 (starting frame 3, Raikou and Entei) and I STILL hit quirky.

Can someone tell me how many frames (via radio, bottom Right) I'm supposed to advance to hit frame 154 on Bulbasaur? I'm in the poke gear now waiting.

P.S. The NPC hasn't moved, i made it into the poke gear screen quick enough while keeping an eye on the NPC in Oak's lab.

Can't you do phone calls to Elm there? If you can, it's probably a better method to use, as each phone call shows you specifically which frame you're on.

agreed and yes you can that's how I got mine, it will take you a bit longer but its much more consistent than the radio

AThe first time, I did advance using Elm's phone calls, and got to 153 (it took my SO...FRAGGING....LONG). So if anyone knows the exact number of frame advancements I need since getting to 153(150 frame advancements) doesn't work I would really appreciate.

Btw, Showsni, your number of posts...153 O.o
Coincidence ;)

And I will DEFINITELY use Elm this time.

Okay. The NPC inside Jubilee City Market: does he advance the frame by 1 EVERY TIME he moves? Or does he just advances it by 1 regardless by the amount of steps he moves?

And if its the first answer, is this information right?
Frame advance by 1 if he moves
Frame advances by 1 if he turns
Frame advances by 2 if he does both

Thanks for all the help but my question goes unanswered. What frame should I be on when I press A to get Bulbasaur, since being on frame 153 doesn't cut it? (that annoying 5 frame thingy concerning the starters is throwing me off as it did the first time as I wrote in my original post using Elm calls.)

Sorry if I'm being a real pain, I really appreciate the help though.

Oh, right, I see. So using Elm you tried to collect on frame 153; it did 5 advancements to 158 instead of 1 to 154.

Well, picking it up on frame 149 should work, then. (I think). I can only assume that in your second attempt there was a mess up with the NPC moving or something...

Still need help.

The third time trying to RNG Raikou: Confirmed seed by calling Elm FIVE times. Beat the E4. Raikou is not shiny and is on Frame 16.

Forth Time: Confirmed seed by calling Elm THREE times. Beat the E4. Raikou is not shiny and is on Frame 18.

What the hell is going on? I'm using the same spread. The NPC doesn't move if I'm quick enough on both terms. The frame I'm after is 9. Is this generally impossible to do? I'm getting a little sick of fighting the E4 over and over again. There is another spread I guess I can go after if so.

Huge problem here. I tried to RNG again but something weird happened. I followed it frame by frame up to frame 150 using the Elm method and the RNG reporter (I think I may have been on 154 my first time and another person on another thread got a Venusaur that was also 4 frames on method 1).
Guess what......STILL QUIRKY. The ONLY thing that happened was that the NPC moved ONCE. I expected this to give me a result of jolly(frame 156 or frame 157 depending on if it was 4 or 5). Still 158....what the hell is going on?

Other times the NPC never moved and still quirky. This is troubling.

Is the nature locked the FIRST time you look at it's frame?

EDIT: Apparently it isn't locked in. Since I restarted again and got a quiet nature/quick to flee.

I just started learning to use Emloop, and I'm having some problems with it.

1. I was catching Suicune to try to find my game's 'true delay', (adjusting for the white screen time when the game is loading) and I found the following stat spread for it.

Seed: 011506BA Frame: 6 Nature: Bold IVs: 31/28/31/30/31/29 Hidden Power: Grass with a delay of 1712. Emloop gave me a seconds value of 28.53, and seed to time gave me a date of year 2010, month 06, day 29, time 21:55:28.

However, whenever I enter in the date, time and Suicune's nature/personality/stats in the seed finder, I always get an 'invalid seed' error, even though I entered in the correct information in the correct fields. does anyone know why?

common error #1: did you make sure to click the box at the bootom right that says HG/SS delay?

Hello, Idk whats going with this..i need some help

I Am using Method K to rng a shiny suicune i hit my frame number every time(22) 22 bc i am using a synchronizer, but Suicune is not shiny, even though the ivs match up, this also happened with Raikou when i rnged him(the shiny frame was 106 which i hit, Method 1), i also know that my seed is correct, and i advanced the rng by calling elm for suicune, and for some reason even though i have an English heart gold, entei always comes on a frame 5-6 times b4 than Raikou,(ex:entei: 101 Raikou :106) though the guide says thats only for European versions,or am i wrong...i dont know what to do, does anyone have any idea whats wrong?

Is Raikou the only roamer you've got out? If Lati and/or Entei are still roaming around, you can try and hit your seed in Lance's room, use the roamers method to confirm, and the radio to advance the frames. That's how I got my Entei; got it first time.

You hit your seed and frame, got the right IVs, but no shininess? In which case, are you sure you have your correct ID/SID entered?

hey guys... does the phone work in Lance's room? (if so I could RNG that freakin thing MUCH easier)

It doesn't, but the radio does. You can use the roamers method to check your seed in Lance's room.

I don't know how to use the roamer method. If it's 59 seconds 489 Delay, what's the route Entei's gonna be on?

First, make a note of which route the roamers are on when you save the game in Lance's room. In RNGReporter (7.5), put a tick next the to box of which roamers are out (L for Latis, E for Entei, R for Raikou) and in the box write down which route they were on when you saved. When you hit "Generate" with your seed it will say which route the roamers should appear on, and how many frame advances they will cause.

Im not sure if its correct or not, but honestly i was told from someone on yt i could use the rng repoter Pandoras box to find a sid that is good for your delays, I used the middle option and i got my sid from there, smh if thats the wrong thing to do, then ive been wasting alot of time, btw rng has never worked for me b4 on heart gold, so its probably the sid....great, i already caught gyrados too

I also thought the radio didn't work in Lance's room. Should I save before entering?

The radio does work in Lance's room, you can save inside his room right before it automatically walks you up to him.

(I'm starting to second guess myself now... If the radio doesn't work, there's always the 128 steps method. But I'm almost certain it works).

So, you used Pandora's Box to RNG for your SID at the beginning of the game? Well, it's pretty easy to check if that RNG worked, as you'll get the ID that it tells you.
