Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

You have to keep trying
the initial appearance of journal counts as a flip but you may want to choose a different seed, because NPCs may ruin the frame you are trying to hit.

I'm RNGing for Wondercard IVs, and it's my first ever time RNGing and I'm a bit stuck:

as someone said earlier, my delay range is 600-610, yet I never seem to get the right one. Is there any way to get the delay I need, or do I have to keep trying?

Also, when I Journal flip, does the initial appearance count as a flip? The fram I want is 26, with no wanderers, so that's 12 Journal flips and one NPC movement, right?

If it matters at all, the Wondercard Pokémon is the PBR Electivire.

???
You have a reminder of 1
If your frame is 26
then
26-1(for pokemon) = 25
25/2 = 14.5
You have to experiment and see if you need a NPC to move or not

As for the journal I would advise you to do the flip when it pops up

Also what is your seed

The guide says if it's odd you need to subtract one so it divides into a whole number.

The seed I want is 8A140262.

The bit in the 'Time' section is my target time, isn't it?

EDIT: I just hit the seed, and the IVs are wrong. When the Journal first appears, it advances the RNG by 2 doesn't it?

Note that if the "Total required RNG advances" is odd, you should subtract one from this number and then calculate the page flips. This will leave you one frame shy of your target, which can be made up with NPC movements by slightly pausing between canceling the Journal and collecting your gift.
About the journal flips unless it said a pokemon was capture or defeated I not sure if the RNG will advance, if it open automatically. I still will advise you to do the flips when the journal open

Does anyone know why I would be hitting delays that are all over the place with no consistency regardless of doing the same thing each time when ID abusing. I reset at 1 min. exactly and get into the game world at around 2min 5sec. on the stopwatch. But the delay results I get are ridiculously far away from one another, even when using the same month, day, and year, and only advancing the minute by 2 or 3.

*And yes, I do make note of the fact that the minute for the seed finder is 2 min after the initial sync time.*

Yaaay, my 2nd breed was a success! Until I noticed that fucking day-care couple deleted fucking egg move of fucking parent :(

Shit.

It does have a page on captured/defeated a Pokémon, so that makes 11 Journal flips + 1 NPC movement?

Hitting the seed is getting annoying though.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that has done so much research into RNG and has made it relatively simple for all of us idiots!

I just hatched an Adamant Shiny Beldum and after hours upon hours of calibrating and research got the IV spread as follows:

31/31/31/20/31/31

A quick question, can I no longer use this specific day since my journal entry will have it shown as I caught and hatched something, which from what I read would increase my frames? I was quite consistently hitting 9, so I'm guessing my frames will go up as that page has that info? Any help would be appreciated, but again thanks so much!
If you caught/defeated a pokemon on this day, the initial journal page will advance the frame (although you can still compensate for this in your frame calibration).

However, when you start your game the journal won't appear automatically anymore, because you've already played on that day. To get around this, I usually set my DS clock to some other day (at least 2 days away), save the game on that other day, and then the original date can be used again.

If the frame is 26
-1 for the wondercard is 25
-1 = 24
24/2 = 12 journal flips that have "capture or defeated pokemon"

then 1 NPC movement

@starvos
I believe its the same
1
5
9
Not sure though >.>

@At kirbyman
If your are doing 11 flips then 1 movement and getting a frame of 27 then something is happening (like a npc is moving)
11x2 = 22
1 npc movement (no turn and step, just one step) 23
wondercard pkmn = 24?

27 != 24

A video I just watched said that everytime an NPC turns, it advances by one, and everytime they move, it advances by 2. True?

I didnt hear him saying anything about NPC on that videos.

But
Please list me the steps you are taking?
You are saved infront of the deliveryman correct?

EDIT: Found it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2WHU8cuE1s

Anyway, the steps.

1. Set my DSi (and computer) clockto 20:57 on the 13th of May 2010 (my syncronize time).
2. Load Platinum.
3. Wait until the computer's clock says 20:58 and SR.
4. Continuosly press A until I get to the start screen.
5. Press A on the start screen when the computer's clock says 20:58:15
6. Flip the Journal 11 times.
7. Cancel the Journel.
8. Wait for the NPC to move.
9. Press A to talk to the deliveryman.
10. Recieve Electivire.
11. Check IVs.
12. Repeat.

I'm saved right in front of the deliveryman by the way.

For flipping pages, Smogon says "Do not count the journal's initial appearance as a page flip."

I have a captured Bibarel on the first page of the journal when the journal appears. So does this mean the Bibarel absolutely does not count as an advance?

try 12 flips and see what frame you will land of when you hit your target time

RNG advance when I do it

One other question as well. Is it absolutely necessary to put the calendar ahead a couple of days in order to calibrate before doing an IV spread? Can you go ahead and do the calibration without having to have the journal pop up?

You can but you wont get accurate results, because you cant guartee that youll hit start the same time everytime to make the menu pop up and stop NPC movement, so its better off just having the journal pop up not like its hard to change the date anyways...

Thanks, Jubiliee. You happen to know the answer to my first question as well? Repeated below.

"Opening the Journal, or having it automatically open, when there is a caught or defeated Pokémon on the first page advances the RNG by 2 seeds."

it was right on the front page, I don't know where you found that other info. and by seeds it means advances the frames by 2
