Best and Worst Comic/Cartoon/Game Movie Adaption

Hi all!
Interested in finding out what are people's Best and Worst Comic/Cartoon/Game Movie Adaption.

Hollywood can sometimes get it right but can sometimes get it horribly wrong!

For me personally, BM Begins/Darknight and IronMan1 have stood out as very good adaptions. Good acting, good storylines and character development aswell as a good score. Christopher Nolan I think is an awesome director who also done Momento, showing getting the right people who actually care about a franchise rather than make a quick buck.

Films I felt were a pile of crap were Transformers, for not paying enough
attention to source material, and really bad camera work in the some of the scenes. Also it didnt really feel like a Transformers film, more like an Independance day 2, with more screen times to people we dont care about.

Oh an honourable mention to : Streetfighter!
Very bad, but Van Damme is a legend!

Owww! can we count sequels? Like Spiderman 3?

Terrible adaptation- Queen of the Damned. The book is so fantastic and huge, they basicly skipped it for a big budget Dusk till Dawn....

yeah sure sequels are cool, Spiderman 3. I hate how Venom only played a small part :(

Aside from Batman Begins and Dark Knight, I generally can't stand the superhero comic movie. For the most part it just tends not to translate well into film. I do think the first Iron Man was a step in the right direction for Marvel Films, at least they picked a good Tony Stark, unlike just about all of their other movies.

For me, the best comic movies were graphics first- Sin City, V for Vendetta, From Hell

batman begins gets my vote for best comic book movie. emphasis on character development and a genuine dark, gritty atmosphere raises it above the infantile nature present in almost every movie of the sort. my only qualm with it is poor, even cringe-worthy dialogue in some areas. i'm mostly referring to the corny repetition of several lines like "why do we fall? so we can learn to pick ourselves back up".

shitty game adaptations are dime a dozen. uwe boll's garbage, the two mortal kombat movies, street fighter and double dragon are all awful.

iron man is probably the worst comic book adaptation i've ever seen. the script is throwing every hollywood cliche in a blender and watching what comes out. tony stark comes off as a perfect human being with the fairly irrelevant foible of being charmingly arrogant. he is a genius and attractive and everyone in the world wants to hop on his dick. suspension of disbelief is fine for surrealist, or even fantasy films. it is NOT fine as an excuse for the writers' inability to get around plot holes without special effects. it's probably ok though if you're about 14 or easily entertained.

Whut. Street Fighter was way better and more true to the game than the Chun-Li movie. At least they used signature attacks and dressed like the characters in the Van Damme one.

I vote Dragonball Evolution. It was so bad, the theater I went to on opening night only had 5 people in it: My friends and me. Not only did it share nothing, from character design to setting and plot, like the original series, but the actors couldn't even say their names correctly.

Honorable Mention in my opinion would have to be the upcoming King of Fighters movie. Kyo and Terry and practically everyone else look nothing like the characters, and half the actors pronounce Iori as "Eye-or-ee."

I have to agree with this. I thought that movie was going to be terrible at the start and it surpassed my set crappy expectations.

A close second for me would have to be the Fantastic Four series. It had so much potential. Movie makers like to make characters that make jokes as they fight crime, and they had the perfect one in the Human Torch! But one Jessica Alba and Galactus cloud later, we have a terrible movie.

Gather around my friends, and stare in pure horror at the travesty that is the Super Mario Bros Movie...

And yeah seconding Dragonball Evolution. Sometimes you want to say "it's so bad it's good", but... damn. Not in this case.

Which Batman movie had Schwarzenegger as Mr. Freeze? Forever?

"EVERYBODY! CHILL OUT!"

300 was fantastic, as was V for Vendetta. I have to say though, Dragonball Evolution and the Pokemon Movies pretty much blew (except for the first one).

Although, there isn't much you can do in the way of pokemon movies anyways :\

Theres a World of Warcraft movie coming out (somewhat) soon, and they say its gonna be done in the same visual style as Avatar... I have my hopes up for that.

Oh, and Prince of Persia could be good.

As long as we're on the subject of V for Vendetta, I must bring up the best cartoon adaption of all time and my second favorite movie. Speed FUCKING Racer, hell yes. I had an orgasm watching that movie.

I don't read comics that much, but I do know a good movie when I see one.

Street Fighter:It sucks. At least it had Jean Claude Van Damme in it.Some boring fighting scenes, and that's it.

Iron Man:Sticked to the storyline, awesome effects,a hell of a soundtrack(AC-lightning bot-DC!),and none other that Robert Downy Jr.to play Tony Stark.

Transformers 1+2:Megan Fox is what drove my friends to watch it in the first place. For me,awesome effects again, and a cool OST.AND it stuck to the storyline, and cleared out some loose details.Along with a sense of humor to keep the crowds pleased while going from one action-packed sequence to another.

Super Mario Bros:I would rather rip my eyeballs form their sockets and throw them to a pit of boiling acid than watch it again.'Nuff said.

Dragonball Evolution:Another Twilight epic fail.I still don't know why people even watch Twilight. The characters can't even say their names right!

The Dark Knight:Faved. For life.I ♥ The Joker's line,"Why so serious?".Action-packed from the WB logo,to the end of the credits.

Tekken:OH COME ON!!!Jin Kazama should've had someone who was beefier than that puny Asian guy.Raven was real,Eddie Gordo was the red ranger from the S.P.D series.Sonya was also there, sexy as usual.Jackie Chan should've been there too,as Lei Wulong.Oh,and the OST?You're Going Down by Sick Puppies, only an octave higher.Oh,yeah,Christie Monteiro is HAWT!

That's all the movies based on comics that I've watched.
