I was actually going to say sorta the opposite about the battle theme! I was gonna say it sounds more similar to the ones in RB and GS as opposed to RS and DP where they both sounded totally different than anything previously. Not a bad thing, I liked the first two gen's battle themes, sorta frantic sounding. I guess that just shows how hard it is to accurately judge the music at the moment...

I agree PKMN Trainer Manson about the third and fourth gens sounding a lot different than the first two, you are probably right and i think this new battle theme sounds to me that way because i'm used to Dppt and HGSS. But yeah, it would be better to talk about music until the game is released and it leaks somewhere.

Well the DPPt story states that 90% of Pokemon are in some way tied to evolution. (493 Total Pokemon - 35 Legendaries)/493 Total = ~92%, so expect an evo or prevo for just about everything.
Exactly my point!! They get old after a while and I'm ready for a new dual type, something that will surprise everyone leaving them on their ass.
Exactly why I'm hoping for pure Flying on Reshiram, and two of Poison/Dark/Steel/Fighting on Zekrom. Until we get a report that doesn't sound like the word "Dragon" is referring to their species name, I'm staying hopeful.
I always imagined it as a speedy supporter with moves like Taunt, Screens, Encore, Switcheroo/Trick, etc. Give it >115 Spe and around +20 in each defense.
"So soon"? I think we've mentioned multiple times in this thread that Gen V is right on schedule. Diamond and Pearl came out in the US in 2008 or '09, and Black and White are coming Stateside sometime next year, so, you know, three years is good enough. Hopefully that's enough time to introduce some interesting battle mechanics (like the EV/IV overhaul, natures, and abilities of Gen III, or the physical/special split of Gen IV).
D/P came out in 2007 (outside Japan).
The site says 2007, when you go to check tiers and stuff.

Point is, it's been plenty of time since Gen IV started; it just feels like it hasn't been because HGSS just came out a few months ago. In the four years they'll have had between generations, GameFreak has basically had nothing but remakes to work on the whole time. Gives them plenty of opportunity to figure out some sweet gameplay tweaks, eh? Though they're obviously not going overboard, since you can transfer Pokemon from Gen IV to Gen V (hence the Zoroark event)...

OMG yeah. I wish we had gotten 19 or 20 boxes in 4th gen, 18 just wasn't quite enough.
