Technically, Arceus with Toxic Plate is a legend of the Poison type.

Also, I noticed something odd. They said the Isshu region is highly industrious. They said that the English names of the mascot legends are Reshiram and Zekrom.

Computer technology anyone?

I think their classification (the Dragon Pokemon) was given to an offical fanclub. Nothing about the actual types.

Dark/Electric makes very much sense. If we're going for a dark technology thing.

Its actualy "The Legendary Dragons", but yeah, we can only speculate about what secondary types they have.
Also Arceus doesnt counts, he can be a Pure Flying type or even a Bug legendary...

Also I think the most logical reason they put zekrom as the cover for pokemon white and vice versa is purely for colour contrast. It wouldn't look to good if they but a black coloured figure on top of a black back ground unless they gave it some kind of white aura but the way they did it seems the simplist.

Some rumors say that Zekrom is part Electric type. I don't really think that makes much sense though. It doesn't look like an Electric/Dragon Pokemon!

it's more the idea that an interesting type distinction would be removed because of one Pokemon. I find that really unnecessary. I personally love the mechanic, and would actually like to see more types get interesting distinctions like this (poison being immune to poison status is another one we already have, and flying being immune to ground based entry hazards, etc.). any ideas?

Electric types shouldn't get paralyzed by Thunder Wave, and Inner Focus should prevent flinching when Focus Punching (Nite would love this). I'd also like to see Sunny Day gave all Grass and Fire Pokemon some kind of stat boost...it always pissed me off how the Grass Pokemon with abilities that power them up when it's sunny (Chlrophyll, Solar Power, etc.) don't have boosted Fire STAB they can use too. Contrast that with Swift Swimmers like Kingdra and Kabutops, who get their speed and STAB attacks boosted in the rain. It's like GameFreak just wanted Rain Dance to be better.

Actually, Light type isn't disproven. Reshiram looks the more 'Light' type possible and it hasn't had its second type rumoured or confirmed.

It's voice actor for a movie said she got the role because she loved Electric types. That statement was quickly taken off her blog. Hmm.

I'm pretty sure this also confirms the legends are in Champion Zoroark.

It'll take some time, remember, they're probably checking the code for the game for errors, so as each segment is done, I suppose they release some footage from the game to commemorate.

Just my opinion.

Dragon/Electric? Epic fail. So this also means that there is no Light type, and the Black and White games have nothing to do with Light and Dark.

-3 faith in Gen 5.

You never know. We all seem to be jumping to the conclusion that Mrs. Nakagawa took down the post because Nintendo saw it and didn't want fans to know, but what if that's not the reason? Maybe she took it down because she was wrong about the type, realized her mistake, and didn't want to embarrass herself.

I don't see how this means no Light type either...since when does one of the cover Legendaries need to have a new type? When GameFreak introduced Dark and Steel in Generation 2, did they give Dark to Lugia and Steel to Ho-Oh? No. In fact, they didn't make any Dark or Steel typed Legendaries at all until Gen 4 and Gen 3 respectively. I'm remaining hopeful.

Besides, Dragon/Electric is a pretty sick type combination...

Resists: Electric, Water, Grass, Fire, Steel, Flying
Weak to: Ice, Dragon, Ground (or maybe not, since we don't know if it'll have Levitate)

No 4x weaknesses, plenty of good resistances. Did I mention this thing is going to eat Kyogre for breakfast?

Ho...ly...crap. I slept for eight hours last night and you guys filled up two pages while I was gone. At least nothing important happened this time. =P

Oh, and Light type isn't going to happen. When Steel was introduced in Gen II, only Magnemite and Magneton (a whopping TWO Pokemon) had any sort of type change, and with them only a few moves changed type (Bite becoming Dark and Sand Attack becoming Ground are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head...yeah, I know, Sand Attack, what the hell, but just bear with me). Now, we have almost 500 Pokemon and an amount of moves to match. It would be hell trying to update all the Pokemon and moves that need themselves a Light type. Besides, wouldn't that mean compromising Lanturn's awesome type-combination? =(

Why would Lanturn change type? Lanturn is based on an anglerfish, which uses bioelectricity to glow.

If Light would be made, it will NOT be literal Light. Why? Electric and Steel covers that already.

Maybe the whole thing is deliberate, intended to create even more hype and fan speculation.

Actually, an anglerfish lure glows because bioluminescent bacteria are living on it in a symbiotic relationship with the fish. The bacteria produce that light through chemical reactions inside their bodies. Electricity has nothing to do with it.

Plus, if GameFreak does make a Light type and give it to Pokemon like Lanturn and Ampharos, they could always make another Water/Electric. An electric eel or torpedo ray would make far more sense as that than an anglerfish, since they actually produce electric current.

Yeah, but the bioluminescence is produced by bioelectro-chemical reactions in the symbiotic bacteria of course. Photons are electromagnetic radiation (I'm not a physicist so don't kill meee!) if memory serves. I'd love an Electric Eel pokemon and Gamefreak could just simplfy Lanturn into a Light pokemon as you say, since even though its electricity its still Light produced.

What I desperately want this Gen, is a good amount of new Steels and Ghosts (My brother specialises in Ghosts and splashes Darks), but I really want a pokemon based on a Haunted suit of armour. Ghost/Steel. It would be awesome.

I'm pretty 50/50 on Zekrom being Dragon/Electric

on one hand electric makes sense if they're going with the whole "technology vs. nature" thing (and that would make reshiram grass/dragon which would be awesome)

on the other hand it could just be that the blogger didn't know what he was talking about, which happens all the time with voice actors.

I was expecting a Electric/Dragon to be more like...a metal-looking dragon, with huge Dynamo's of some sort on its back, you know, something that looks like it could put out a massive voltage.

I just can't see Zekrom being electric, unless that turbine has something to do with it. Dragon/Electric does hit the entire Ubers metagame for neutral coverage. It think it hits every single Pokemon neutral, bar Magnezone and Steelix.

If Zekrom is a technological Pokemon, maybe he gets Download or Adaptability. I would love to see them both with new abilities though. Dragon/Steel makes for sense for a technological Pokemon though.

Well, Zek's tail does look a little bit like a steam turbine, a device often used to generate Electricity.

But yeah, another possibility is that Mrs. Nakagawa just mistakenly thought Zekrom was an Electric type...not sure exactly what her reasoning was on that, but whatever. Maybe the next Pokemon Sunday will give us clues. If she apologizes for what happened, we'll know Zek's not Electric. If they never mention it again, it's more likely he is.

I'm sorry, but CAP came up with a better designed Dragon/Electric Pokemon.

Agreed. GameFreak's a bunch of copycats.

Yeah, I know, but like...the colouring and position of the turbine doesn't stand out, its like its not important. If it was Electric, surely they would show it more prominently?

So 'Ice' or 'Rock', even 'Steel', aren't specific?

ice is quite specific, yes, but snow, actuall ice, cold water 'mons, there are quite a lot of ways to implement it
rock specific? crystals, actual rocks, rock armor, sand, serveral minerals, fossils and probably a lot of more things
steel: theres a huge amount of metals, like, REALLY HUGE AMOUNT
