Man, I really hate it when people stay stuff like this. It can't not look like a Pokémon because it is a Pokémon. Sugimori has gotten better at drawing in the last decade, and the series' art direction is taking new turns. The art style evolves just like Pokémon do. (Yes it's cheesy, I know.)

But to each his own, I guess. I honestly don't understand how people say that the generation that contains Pokémon like Diglett/Dugtrio, Magnemite/Magneton, Voltorb, Grimer, etc. is the most clever and original...
QFT.

Really, I can, who has no artist talent, draw diglett and voltorb. People only say that the first generation is the best because it was the first. Each gen. has well designed pokemon and poorly designed pokemon. It's more opinion then fact in which generation is the best.

Also people have been saying that reshiram has his junk showing in that picture. Well it's not, it's oblivious that it's his cod piece.

Y'know, let's avoid a generation war. That's Serebii standards right there.

Anyway, I personally prefer more complex Pokemon. What's aesthetically pleasing is a personal thing, but I prefer either extreme - incredibly detailed or highly stylised art. So the new legendaries appeal to my detail side, and the starters...well, I don't particularly like the starters, but their simplicity strikes a chord with me.

First gen pokemon have an unmatched charm, but some of them would not be as loved if they were released today!

I like how Sugimori changes his style, i'm glad each gen i get a lot of new pokemon that i really like. It's just unfair, the guy is NOT running out of ideas, he obviously puts a lot of effort in his work.

>>edit: right, enough of that. I don't really like the idea of getting more baby pokemon, but if we do, baby Miltank, Tauros and Lapras would be on my list. Also baby Kanghaskan (something like the one she carries around perhaps?).

Honestly there are few pokes in the first generation that i realy like...
I happen to love the new legendary's BECOUSE they look like Digimons or Yu-Gi-Oh monsters, what is wrong with that?
Also Gen 4 pokes were not bad at all except for a few plain ugly ones, and the starters are the best looking in all 4 generations.

I hope the new legendaries have better abilites than Levitate or Pressure. Maybe a weather inducing ability that summons a Thunderstorm or another Hail summoner. That would probably stop Uber being Kyogre's bitch.

I guess when I say it I mean they don't look like the older pokemon. I know the art is evolving it's just evolving in a direction I don't like. I personally like my pokemon more simple and animal like but I realize not everyone feels that way obviously.

Yay more legendarys that auto-jump to Uber status....

We need to update our Ubers page with 2 new additions actually. Reshiram and Zekrom :P

Oh, and our NFEs with 4 more. Zorua, Tsutaaja, Pokabu, and Mijumaaru*shot*

I wish they'd make a Ghost/Normal type Pokemon. A human who has been in an accident and ghost Pokemon has taken over their soul, but they're not necessarily dead yet. A sprite would be like a Zombie like thing, but with a ghostly aura and Pokemon eyes or something. Male and Female have totally different sprites.

Just my imagination.

I'd also love a Dark/Psychic...endless possibilities of what you can make.

An Ice/Fighting polar bear...

Why update the pages at this point? There's not even close to enough information about them to make it worth the time or server space. I mean what are you going to write? "This is the new Grass/Fire/Water starter for Generation 5."? We don't know stats, nor the full move pool to even remotely begin to start making index pages for them.

But what exactly defines a Normal Type?
But gamefreak, dont want to make things that scary, it might ward off the kids
Though the target audience, is older, this time round, GF still want a whole range of ages, so their pokemon only get as scary as Gengar

And wouldnt Dark/Psychic, be killed of by Scizor, with double weaknesses to Bug?
And now I shall give more chance questions.

What is the chance, that Reshiram is part Electric?
What is the chance that this is the last generation?
What is the chance, that the Water starter's evolution willl be an Empoleon brother?
What is the chance that we will get partner pokemon (walk beside you etc.)
What is the chance, that the graphics were rushed, and is too much for the DS to take?
What is the chance, that the majority of people will pick Black over White?

But what exactly defines a Normal Type? Normality.

What is the chance, that Reshiram is part Electric? Lower than Zekrom's chance of being electric.
What is the chance that this is the last generation? Hahaha.
What is the chance, that the Water starter's evolution willl be an Empoleon brother? ... wat?
What is the chance that we will get partner pokemon (walk beside you etc.) Doubtful given the screens we've seen, but I'd like the option.
What is the chance, that the graphics were rushed, and is too much for the DS to take? Err, I'm sure the DS can take it. There are some far more technically impressive games than Pokemon B&W on the DS, based on what I've seen.
What is the chance, that the majority of people will pick Black over White? High? In any case, it hardly matters. Regular exclusives > Mascots.
Answers in bold.

I was thinking of fabricating a totally bogus rumor to spark a new topic, then i actually sat down and thought about it and decided it would be a terrible idea ><

Honestly banette should have been normal...i mean its a doll and thats about as "normal" as it gets. Apart from you know a beaver,a rat,a super fat bear thing,a racoon thing,a mongoose esque(?) Its hard to determine what a "Normal" type is.

SadOtters final Evo is VengenaceOtter!
Water/Fighting
With a base 130 attack+115 Speed!
Torrent
Waterfall/Aqua Jet
CloseCombat
*insert elemental punch here*
Swords Dance

He will exact his vengeance on everyone who bashed him mwhahaha

Normal/Ghost can work by making a Normal-typed cat and having it evolve into a bakeneko and gaining a Ghost secondary type. It would keep its Normal typing in the same way that Bibarel keeps its Normal-type.

Psychic/Dark wouldn't be raped by Scizor because it can always just switch out of U-turn. In fact, it's probably better off than Celebi, because it's not weak to Pursuit. Since its only weakness is Bug and it has an immunity to Psychic without being weak to Fighting, it could be useful, but it probably won't be high OU unless it gets Flamethrower to deal with Scizor.

I had more of a Nazgul-esque empty robe thing with glowy-eyes in mind for a Normal/Ghost, but something that has a place in Japanese folklore would suit the designers better, no doubt.

*eyes Gyarados knowingly*

Haha, I saw someone else blurt the "Dragon type" nonsense earlier again. When are y'all gonna learn that you can't trust a fanclub's nickname for something so important? Just because Serebii jumped to conclusions doesn't mean we have to. I mean, shit, they're Serebii. =P

Anyway, Normal/Ghost would be a sweet type combination, and would probably happen the way DDRMaster described it (a Normal-type keeps its Normal typing upon evolving, but gains Ghost to go with it). Dark/Psychic could be based on Pat Price, a man who claimed to be psychic during the 1970s and made it onto the government payroll because he pretended to be able to see the Soviet bases all the way from CIA headquarters ("I'm seeing...trucks! And...cranes!"). The Pokemon version would actually have remote viewing powers (the Psychic part) but would occasionally lie about its premonitions just for the sake of tricking people (part Dark).

It sounds stupid, but Alakazam's family is based on Uri Geller, so you never know.

Serebii has mentioned that a voice actress for the new movie may have let slip that Zekrom is part electric. Her comment was made on a blog but was quickly removed.

This is not confirmed but it's still interesting...

Saturday: Reshiram & Zekrom's Type Confirmed

In The Games Department
Black & White Legends
Going slightly under the radar, the Daisuki Club site has confirmed that the two new Pokémon; Reshiram & Zekrom, revealed yesterday, are part Dragon-type. It is unknown if they are pure Dragon or if they have a secondary type. In addition to this, the Daisuki Club also confirmed that the two game versions are going to have further differences outside of the exclusive Pokémon we have come to expect. To what extent, we don't yet know. Click the picture to go to our New Pokémon Page

Just to clear up the issue on whether they are confirmed part dragon or not, It seems legit.

Jesus. We've talked about this thrice already. It was NOT CONFIRMED by Daisuki Club they're part-Dragon. They were called "legendary dragon shit" and that's it.

Sheesh.

If that's true, a dragon/electric type would be sick <3 :pimp:
