Yes, and yes.

Questions!

Can Twineedle poison a Poison type?

How does Serene Grace effect Metronome and Present? How, in detail, does Present work?

If you select Bug Bite or Pluck with Sleep Talk, and hit the opponent (that doesn't have Sticky Hold) which has a Lum or Chesto Berry, do you wake up?

Master Ball:

Serene Grace is described as: "Chance of additional effects from attacks by bearer is doubled." Additional effects include "May poison opponent" or "May decrease opponent's Attack by 1 stage." However, neither Metronome nor Present cause additional effects. (Metronome says "Uses a random attack." and Present says "At random, recovers to opponent 1/4 of total HP (52/256 chance), or deals 40 (102/256), 80 (76/256), or 120 (26/256) power.")

That's the point.

Lets say that your Serene Grace Chansey has Metronome and uses Flamethrower.

The move you selected was Metronome, but the move executed was Flamethrower.

Master Ball is asking if Flamethrower will burn 10% of the time (if Serene Grace can't double the chances of Flamethrower since Metronome doesn't have any extra effects) or if it will make the burn rate 20% (if Serene Grace affects every move launched by Chansey, regardless of whether or not it actually uses it).

As for Present, I don't think it has actual effects to begin with. Its hard to explain, but anyway it would have to double the chances of all the extra effects, which would be weird and likely cause overlap (or more simply not affect the move at all)

It's a HGSS exclusive move, so you'll have to create a team on a server that supports the new moves. Either log on to one server with those moves allowed and create your team there, or create a new team and select the appropriate server when prompted. Smogon is one such server.

I created my team (Without such move being able to be chosen) and then entered Smogon. Should connect to Smogon first and then edit my team here?

If you "Edit Team" whilst in Smogon University, HGSS moves still will not show up. You will need to have "New Team" while connected to Smogon. Alternatively, when you click "New Team" in the Welcome Window, you should be able to select Smogon University from there and the HGSS moves should show up

Ok, thanks!

I run Agility Porygon Z on my present team. I usually have duel Screens and Spikes up, as well as Paralysis support. Obviously, he can be a beast w/ all this up.

My question is: what would be a good item for it? I am running Life Orb for all the extra power, but between Life Orb, enemy attacks and Sandstorm, it's HP drops like a rock. It is usually KOd 2-3 turns after setting up an Agility, and Life Orb is namely to blame.

Silk Scarf is an option, since Tri-Attack should be your main sweeping attack.
I was thinking something along those lines, but was hoping there was a better item that increased all my attacks power more than Wise Glasses does....I was also thinking Expert Belt but Dark+Normal+Fighting doesn't hit too much for SE in OU.....

I know this is probably silly, but I've been toying around with Life Orb Suicune and I am wondering if a similar set can be made with Cresselia...

Psychic/Calm Mind/Hidden Power Fighting/Shadow Ball? 252 Special Attack/252 Speed/4 HP/Life Orb? Or would I be better off with Psychic/Ice Beam/Charge Beam/Moon Light?

Cress hates scizors U-turn and Ttar STAB crunch and with sandstream moonlight only recovers 25% of health so neither works that well for it

Now that I am done with VGC (for now), I was wondering: I know there is a UU section, but is there a NU section? I'd like to get into that for the moment, but I can't find it

I'm making a Lucario based team, which involves luring Lucario's counters and then killing them. What are Pokemon that have the same counters as Lucario? (i want a lot please.)

What's a good sixth member to this ingame team? I'm trying to plow through Kanto and then E4 once more

Infernape
Scizor
Tyranitar
Swampert (Originally Lanturn but I'm going to swap him out)
Mismagius

?

i have the japanese version of the game.

when you start a new game and name your main character, how many letters can you with the english version of the game?

on mine its 5 letters,

Captain Awesome, Master Ball:

Serene Grace affects additional effects of attacks like Flamethrower, even if that attack was used by another move like Metronome. Flamethrower's description reads, "May burn opponent", so Serene Grace will double the chance of that additional effect even it was used by Metronome.

Present, however, is different because its effect is the main effect of the move, rather than an additional effect, even though it can do different things each time. (Its additional effect chance is 0%.)

geassmyass:

In non-Japanese language versions of Pokemon, trainer names can be up to 7 characters long and Pokemon names can be up to 10 characters long.

Curious how Trick works:
Let's say first round I use Fake Out and oppent's Trick is ruined due to flinch.
Round two opponent is faster and uses Trick, I now have a Scarf. I selected a different move for my second turn, will it work since I now have a scarf?

Opinion question: I am currently running a Life Orb Moltres in UU with the moveset Fire Blast / Air Slash / U-turn / Roost. However, I do not want to run Modest/Timid because I want U-turn to have more power. Which would benefit me more in terms of preserving Moltres' bulk, a -Def or -SpD nature? In addition, what would benefit me more, more power or more speed?

My current choice is Naive, as Moltres' Def is the higher stat, and the speed would allow me to outrun neutral base 100s (this is increasingly important to me seeing as Adamant event Entei is soon to make its debut in UU). Bit what do you guys think? You're the experts. Would a Hasty/Rash/Mild nature benefit me more?
