Actually, I think it'd make more sense to have a split evolution path, similar to Snorunt's; depending on its sex, it can evolve into either Glalie or Froslass. Maybe it's time we had a Ms. Mime.

That's a cool idea, but keep in mind that "Mr. Mime" is an English name that was given to the Pokemon in RBY before genders were part of the game. Mr. Mime's Japanese name is Barrierd, and since it doesn't have any obvious female or male characteristics (unlike Kirlia, who was wearing a skirt) there's no reason for a split path. You never know, though...Snorunt wasn't exactly crying out for a gender-based evolution, but he still got one.

Edit: Yeah, I got that. Sorry, I meant to say Mime Jr. instead of Mr. Mime...obviously, it wouldn't make sense for Mr. Mime to evolve into a female. Transgender Pokemon ftw!

Terra means earth. Tera is a metric unit, IIRC, and it's very very high. The implication is very powerful voltage. It could be either or, but I personally prefer Tera Voltage (since Terror Voltage is a mistranslation :()

I think that was a misspelling by Danilyu. On Serebii, it's spelled Terra Voltage.

Well, its Japanese name is Barrierd, which does not imply that it is a mono-gendered species. Therefore, I don't think that they will make a branched evolution based on gender (though you never know; we've already seen this with Kirlia). Also, I think Mr.Mime evolving into Ms.Mime would confuse American gamers.

This is true, I suppose. However, you misunderstood my idea. I was thinking that depending on sex, Mime JR. could evolve into either Mr. or Ms. Mime. I wasn't referring to a linear evolution tree.

We still don't know whether this guy is legit or not. From what I've seen in the PokeBeach thread, a lot of faith was put into this guy, and it was shattered with the copy-pasting of a DeviantArt conception of a Tauros evolution. However, Martjin Muller (think that's his name, he's the informant) says it was a misunderstanding according to a post from the same name in PokeBeach, and that he'll have something concrete next week at E3.

Some people want to give him a second chance (due to the possibility of another party masquerading as him and throwing out lies), and some think he's burying himself deeper and deeper by trying to cover up what served to be his reputation-destroyer. The jury's still out, and we're still waiting for confirmation on either end of the debate, so in the meantime, assuming that the rumor is true doesn't really work.

EDIT: Sir Mime sounds godly. I'm all for it!

Ahhh, I wasn't around this thread when all of that went down.

What Mr. Mime needs is more weird things to Baton Pass, with his Soundproof ability blocking Roar and all. Actually, what we need is Suction Cups users with Baton Pass. That way, BP chains can decide whether that Pokemon should be a recipient or passer.

EDIT: Unless if you plan on having the branching to start from Mime Jr., but then they'd have to make Mr.Mime male-only, which I doubt will happen.

Glalie and Gardevoir can both be either sex. Why not make Mr. Mime the same way? Granted, perhaps we don't need a gender-bending Pokemon...

But then again, pretty much all of them are. Most of them look exactly the same, except for what? More stripes? A bigger horn? (don't you dare reply to this one)

New Pokemon Impressions:

Chiraamii: Meh, not really that creative, but it's sprite is pretty appealing, and technician+sweep slap and fake out is pretty cool.

Mamepato: This one is starting to grow on me. It looks the most like an actual pokemon out of them all. When I first saw it's wing pose and super luck, I thought of a city themed honchkrow. I hate pidgeons, but I may pick this up in game since I always use the starter bird.

Munna: Disgusting little blob, the flower patterns ruin it, and also make it unlikely to be a drowsy prevo imo. It would be cool though if it evolved into some parasitic psycho creature like a sea pig though.

Gearu: Horrible design. 4 random symbols on it's face (wth, an eye patch on a cog?), the same nose that mijumaru wished it didn't have, and not to mention it's basically a ripoff of bronzer, who actually has a decent design, better typing, and good abilities. The worst new pokemon yet. Hopefully it's evolution will redeem itself.

Hihidaruma: I like that they were trying to be more creative with this one, but I'd have to agree with most here that it looks like a weird fusion of Heatran and 'nape. I think it's going to be a pretty powerful standalone physical sweeper, and I bet it will be a gym leaders signature poke.

Shimama: Good concept, good competitive potential, terrible design. I'm guessing Wild Volt will be either an electric head smash or take down, since I doubt they want to make a volt tackle clone. I'm hoping it will be better than these two options though, I happen to like Luxray.

Meguroko: As an aspiring archaeologist, herpetologist, and desert lover, a desert crocodilian is pretty much my dream come true. I hope to the Lord that it's evolution will lose the pink belly and binocular eyes, and become a BA Beast with a visible array of fangs and stats like 90/120+/100+/60/80/80. This thing is going to be ridiculous. Considering Feraligatr gets dragon dance (and whiscash) I think it's very possible Meguroko will as well, not to mention possibly swords dance and ro
rock polish. So, come in on a spinblocker like rotom or something like blissey, Pursuit it for the boost, then DD/SD/RP/ while you survive the hit from it's counter with defensive evs or a focus sash, then OHKO it to potentially have + 3 atk and +1 speed, ready to sweep with Crunch and EQ. There's so many ways this thing could cause devestation. I'll be catching one immediately once I get to the desert, it could probably sweep through most of the elite 4 too with Earthquake spiral. So yeah, it's my favorite new pokemon, in case you couldn't tell.

Yeah, I noticed that and then edited my post. But let's say that the branching did start off from Mime Jr. Then they'd have to make Mr.Mime male-only, which I find to be too much of a hassle just to maintain the logic of an evolution.

Due to me confusing the terms terra and tera, now I think the TeraVoltage ability might be used to make Electric attacks stronger (maybe increase the STAB multiplier?). On another note, there were similarities between the legendaries' abilities in each trio (though most of them were Pressure, Giratina-O does not count). For example, Groudon had Drought and Kyogre had Drizzle, both of which have something to do with weather. Rayquaza had Air Lock, which nullifies weather (IMO mainly because there is no exclusive weather for wind). Due to this pattern and that the new legendaries don't have Pressure, I think that TurboBlaze will increase Fire-type moves.

You're assuming Serebii is perfect, while it still lists Meguroko's Ability as Earthquake Spiral instead of the much more convicing Overconfidence. Tera Voltage makes a lot more sense than Terra Voltage

welll they wouldn't really have to do that...gardevoir can still be male... and dont you need an item to breed mr. mime and make it mime jr.? this could explain how that would work out... like using a stone or just getting a female one...but because of the item needed to breed there could still be female mr. mimes...

More lightning does not make any difference to the earth, it would still be unaffected. Honestly if they ever make electric attacks able to hit ground Pokemon, I will be upset. The only possibility is electric energy being turned into heat (fire), but even then it is doubtful. I'm hoping both of these abilities are something we aren't suspecting at all. Maybe each turn you don't use an Electric-type attack the Pokemon builds up electricity. Each turn its power increases by 1.2x or something.

EDIT: Terror Voltage is a bit cliche, I like Tera.

Time to crush some opinions! Lol.
I honestly doubt the "Team Plasma" thing for one reason: The team rocket grunt on Nugget Bridge in the Japanese HG/SS. He's AMERICAN, and says he'll resurrect Team Rocket in his homeland. Isshu is designed off America (right?), America is far away from Japan, and he's from America...just connect the dots.

That seems like it'd be pretty damn broken if Zekrom is capable of running a bulky set. All you'd have to do is stall out stuff with Rest or another recovery move, and wait until you've built up a big enough charge to screw anything over, bar Groudon, who can be conceivably beaten through prediction (i.e., not letting the charge go immediately once it reaches maximum level to avoid a switch into the Electric attack, or dispatch it via other means), and Garchomp (who's fucked by STAB Dragon moves).

Hell, for all we know, Tera Voltage could be LightningRod with a different name. With any luck, CoroCoro will leak some more juicy things later this month that will answer our questions...

As well as bring up a dozen more. =P

EDIT: @Fiveoclock, I think the general consensus is that Isshu is modeled after either New York (not likely) or a province in China. Japan (in real life) is in close proximity to China, and both cultures have some similarities. Not saying you're wrong, just saying we dunno yet; I like the prediction, though. I remember that guy saying the same thing.

Nothing I've seen has confirmed Isshu to be based off of America. Even if he is from America, I think Gamefreak just added that to the game as some sort of Easter Egg and won't bring Team Rocket back.

While this is true, it is a legendary. I just want to see some unique abilities, and everyone knows an electric type should have something similar. We already have Rain Dance = Kyogre, +1 Speed = Speed Boost, Sunny Day = Groudon... why can't we have an ability that boosts JUST electric types moves AFTER waiting a few turns? Besides, most Ubers can hit Zekrom really hard (even if it can run a bulky set).

So if the guy that had supposed insider information has been proven a hoax now then what else besides the Tauros evolution is debunked? Green Snake Legendary? Field Effects items? Good and bad choices story line?

We don't know what Isshu is based on yet. Some people say New York, some people say Shangai, who knows... we certainly don't until we get more information.

That's a VERY interesting tidbit of information you just shared, though.

If the guy's a hoax after all, there's no reason to believe anything he says. Again, right now, it's best to reserve judgment.

Also, I can't help but smile a bit at the "Originally Posted by Fat Fuck" part. >_>

I am getting a feeling this is getting Belly Drum, it suits it doesnt it?
Also, maybe it is based on Sydney, becasue of the desert around the city, and the mountains that are close to Sydney??

Well, Japan is very near the Timezone, in Australia, and its 8:40 am here, and I am pretty sure, Pokemon Sunday is a morning show

We won't be getting anything but silhouettes from Pokemon Sunday this week. This is what Serebii said in a post on GameFaqs

We wont even get that. The CoroCoro rehash is next week. This week it's unrelated stuff plus silhouettes at the end
