You know, if Spiritomb really does evolve into Sarcophagus, I think that would be the biggest change in colour I've seen in a pokemon evolution. VERY dark colours -> VERY bright colours. It doesnt sit well with me.

If that happens I will ragequit....seriously that Sarcophagus has nothing to do with Spiritomb <_<.

@Intro1827
Here we go again...... Threre is a new screen shot from 5th generation shown by Conway here, That's what I'm commenting on(I'm not going to start posting about dusknoir/dusclops and UU list here if thats what you mean) so Let's be cool here!

It's around this time that every new Pokemon revealed, we assume is related to some previous Pokémon. Honestly though, Chromastone aside, they all really look to be brand new lines. Stackohats's head does superficially resemble Meditite's to a degree, but all the same, I'll be surprised if they are related.

they will show the new pokemons little by little, by the time there are only some weeks left for the game to come out we are going to have most of the pokedex.

I think that would be the biggest change in colour I've seen in a pokemon evolution.

Scizor and Gyarados say hello.

Regardless, I don't see this thing being a spiritomb evolution.

I want a ghost/rock with levitate thanks. Stealth Rocks resistance and the ability to spin block? Awesome. Ghost and Levitate also take care of rocks horrible weaknesses to fighting and ground.

Also, I'm surprised anyone hasn't commented on how super awesome bug/electric is. It's only weak to rock and fire and it resists Steel, Electric, Grass and Fighting. Electric also hits all the things that resist bug for neutral or super effective and vice-versa for bug.

I just like the fact that we have an electric type that's not weak OR immune to ground.

I'm looking forward to seeing more Pokemon of Generation 5... but it sucks that I won't have internet for the next 6 weeks. xD

Anyone think that the blue/red Pokemon could have something to do with evolution with the Nosepass or Beldum family?

@Scicky
Ghost/rock Type with levitate eh? that is an interesting combonation I must say considering rock being a poor type next to grass types( the 5 weakness types) so let's see..Weaknesses: ghost, dark, water, grass, steel. resistant to fire, bug, 4x poison. negates ground, fighting, and normal! Yea that's pretty good thinking Scicky.
Bug/Electric Ha! I love this type too, also because strong electric or bug type pokemon are few, and it would hurt the large majority of water pokemon. This could also be a good evolution type for Illimunse or volbeat since they're supposed to be lighting bugs

I wouldn't mind something new for the Beldum family. My favourite Steel during R/S/E times. An alternate evo pathway using the new evolution method for this game would be interesting.

But I guess it depends on if Gamefreak considers it a Pseudolegendary. In which case, it won't get anymore evolutions.

Sarcophagus HAS to go Sarcophagus -> Pyramid + Mummy. Shedinja's evolution method needs to be used more.

My main problem with this is you can still like the old Pokemon. They aren't going anywhere, and they aren't ANY less viable than before. Electabuzz gaining an evolution didn't make it any less viable, or change its design whatsoever. However, some people love Electivire, and it contributed something to competitive Pokemon. There's no rational reason to be against an evolution.

This. The whining is so damn tiresome.
We got RBY in the late 90s and remakes around the RSE generation.
If you believe those 150 Pokemon cannot be bettered you have all you need already.
Just ignore the new Pokemon and don't buy anymore games.
But it's VERY ANNOYING to hear about that decision every page, every reveal, every day.

Especially since that decision has little to to with games and a lot to do with your own heads-up-your-asses NOSTALGIA.
Because the original games were buggy, EXTREMELY unbalanced, and a total graphical and auditory hot mess (technologically).
I put Pokemon Blue in my GBA a few days ago and wondered how I even played and enjoyed it at the time.
Pokemon has only improved over time and this is quantifiable.

Anyway, now that I've finished ranting...back to Pokemon BW.
One of the newly revealed attacks is Grass Mixer which some have speculated could be a Grass type Whirpool or better yet, Magma Storm.
If it has decent power and anything close to the distribution of Grass Knot it could make the metagame more dangerous for bulky waters.

I'm also really intrigued by the move Trickery which Zoroark learns.
Serebii says the attack damages the foe with its own stats.
This could mean that Trickery's damage calculation would use the Attack and Defense stat of the target Pokemon.

It would be useless for a Swords Dance Zoroark but maybe a scarf revenger could take advantage of a Dragon Danced Salamence (for example, assuming it gets a trolly speed).
This is compounded by the fact that it may not even look like Zoroark when it switches in so Salamence might not expect to be outsped and KOed.
Also, considering that we know it learns Pursuit, has decent Speed and may learn Trick, I'm predicting Choice Scarf as a niche for Zoaork.

I'd like to see what Beldum would transform into had it not fused with another Beldum :/

@Pokemon War General: Let's not forget that one of the bug types most common counters are things like Gyarados and Skarmory, that get absolutely destroyed by Electric attacks.

(How about a new attack called thunder-web that paralyzes on the switch? BULLSHIT MAXIMUM)

Only thing is...what could it be?

That red and blue thing honestly seems more related to Nosepass than it does to Beldum. Even if it was, it seems like it'll be another Bulky Steel.

Hmm...

I'm glad to see that theres a good amount more pokemon based on inanimate objects this game. It really fits in with the Isshu region so far. I want to see the speculated 'Blast Furnace', 'Ruins', 'Ghost Town' and 'Abandoned Factory' areas. (taken from Pokebeach.com) I wonder what some of the pokemon they have.

I also want to know which method we'll be using to get all the old pokemon. Pokewalker? Safari Zone? etc

Alrigyht! Here's something to think about for future generation pokemon. Though Digimon is like a copy of pokemon(the two borrow ideas and art styles from each other anyway) I say pokemon company should make various forms for past pokemon like digimon, and I'll explain. You have greymon, wargreymon, skullgreymon. this is agumon's last stage but in different forms(not counting in fusion forms) So, what pokemon company could do is like for example, Charizard blaze mode, Dragon/Fire type and rearranged base stats. this shouldn't be considered an evolution but a form change like Deoxys, shaymin, and giratina.Give Charizard fire stone to change it's form or something. they can do this for many other pokemon to expand the variaty of game play!

^I stopped reading at "Digimon." Why do people still bother to compare the two? :|

Am I only one who thinks it'd be neat if the base stats of older Pokemon were changed up some?

@Scicky
Thank you! I used my Technician/Scizor yesterday and I coudn't scratch the metal bird( 4x resistant bug and steel resistant.) Heh. Just the thought of skarmory evolving into a stage two SKARMOKRON! Talk about argubly the best steel pokemon in the game!

let me guess
you're younger then ten
reasons why gamefreak shouldn't do this:
-young kids want the game anyway, and a lot of older players would probably stop playing if this happened.
-generally a horrible idea seriously

Yeah I love digimon and pokemon but I'm sorry I just don't want to see FAT CHARIZARD in gen 5 :A

(Thanks though, because of that I was prompted to look up digimon and found out that a sixth season is coming out, whoo!)

1)Although it does resist bug/steel moves , who cares?Bug is a very uncommon type plus the only steel moves you see nowadays are Ironhead/bulletpunch and no one is stupid enough to use it on a skarmory.

2)What a weird name , and also Skarmory is strong enough w/o an evolution , he can use Spikes/Stealth rock and tank decently.

3)Magnezone is way better then skarmory....he is not the best steel type in the game , there are many which are better than him.

season 6 is coming out!? FUCK YEAH! i was waiting for digimon season 6 for a long time! WHAHOO!!!!1ELEVEN!!1!

humm...anyway, i dont think the mode idea should ever be used in pokemon, as much i would enjoy a Lucario with wings, armor, sword and other random stuff its better to leave those things for fan-made storys.

digimon and pokemon look a like but in the end they are not the same thing, dont try to make them the same.

(How about a new attack called thunder-web that paralyzes on the switch? BULLSHIT MAXIMUM)

Actually, I think it would be cool if they introduced entry hazards that inflict other status conditions that were consumable.

Like say Static Web (I like how that sounds better than thunder web) Paralyzes but only one time. And give a rather low PP amount. Say under 5, maybe 1 or 2, and further limit the number of PPups that can be used on it.

Burn and Confusion could get things easily enough and maybe even something to mess with stats. E.g. Focused Light lowers Accuracy for the next Pokemon to come in. (I know we don't deal with the Accuracy thing here but Nintendo does)

Another neat idea would be Exit Hazards. Things that injure, or status, retreating Pokemon but not incoming ones.
