Just wondering what happened to claydol?
i don´t really know, lately i find killing claydol really easy, spinblockers can pretty much obliterate it and half of the time, if not all, spinning is claydol´s job, i have never used it myself though

Just wondering what happened to claydol?

I dunno, but I never found it that effective anyway. It has far too many weaknesses for a defensively orientated Pokemon.

Speaking of weaknesses, has anyone considered using Wormadam- S in any capacity? It's the only Pokemon with that awesome great Bug/Steel typing not in OU, and its ONLY weakness is easily mitigated with a flash fire 'mon. Granted it's stats aren't great, but 60/95/95 is decent when considering all the resistances it's typing allows.

Speaking of Claydol, i just don't get why people use Shadow Ball.

Psychic does enough damage to ghosts and lets Claydol to handle fighting pokes better.
Also, Claydol is one of those pokes with potential to be a good CM user... except it isn't.

Gamefreak gave Wormadam-S LOL 69 attack stats for a reason. LOL is the reaction you get when you see Wormadam-S in better. All it can do is Toxic Stall, and there are loads of Pokemon that do that better.

Hmm... so we're back to SubCM Entei? I've only used it a couple of time's but it was pretty fun. EV spreads anyone? (I ran 252 Hp / 252 Spe ) Again, I didn't use it much so if i've been using the wrong moveset I would appreciate it.

Mine was 136 HP/188 SpA/184 Spe with a Timid nature. 136 HP allows you to get to 405 HP (101 Subs + not getting gimped by Stealth Rock all the time). 184 Spe lets you outspeed Rotom (I didn't find the Base 95s to be threatening, or did I think Entei could beat Houndoom or something like that anyway). Go ahead and run 216 Spe if you want to.

Claydol used to be a reliable spinner back when the only spin blockers were Gengar and Dusclops. Now that Mismagius and Rotom exist, it can't get a super effective Psychic or STAB Earthquake on either. Kind of sad because spinning now is more important than it has ever been before.

And one of the two spinners weak to the now-physical-Pursuit means Spiritomb destroys it. I think it's time Claydol learned Recover. It needs it. Bad.

You know, the only reason I'd ever even think about using Entei (without those awesome event moves coming our way) is because of its base 100 Speed and Stone Edge. Base 100 makes it tie with or outspeed every Fire type save for Rapidash, who is nowhere near close to relevant and having Stone Edge to take them all out is way more reliable than hoping you can set up in their face and outdamage them. As a matter of fact:

Entei received numerous improvements in D/P, but nothing spectacular enough to boost it from its seat in low BL.

Wow. Nobody has touched its analysis since then. Probably the most irrelevant legendary Pokemon to date.

He's not even really a powerhouse either since, if youre using a defensive parafusion set, he's still pretty slow (slower than base 80s) and is hitting about as hard as a Scyther. Still decently powerful, but not a 'powerhouse' and still slow (does have those great defenses though). Rhyperior is a "better" Regigigas imo.

They do entirely different things though... Sure you could say "Rhyperior is better than Regigigas" but I could also say "Mewtwo is better than Rhyperior." and Regigigas hits harder than Scyther. 356 > 350, and all Scyther's need to run Jolly or they simply fail.

I'm not hyping it as the end all be all, but it's a nice alternative if you want to parafuse/sweep/wall (once) all together.

Question: I have seen alot hype about scyther and people patiently waiting for heracross; however Pinsir seems to be completely neglected. I was wondering why OB (Original Beatle) is ignored. It has great speed attack and defense stats wise not to mention a great ability and movepool?

I'm going to assume that Pinsir is unused because of all the fire types that are faster than it; Houndoom, Moltres, and Arcanine. Plus he still can't get past Milotic. Pinisir is kind of stuck in a rut, where all his stats are decent, but something is better in each aspect, eg. Rhyperior in bulk and attack, Syther in Speed, Ect.

Where did you get that Pinsir can't get past Milotic?? +2 X-Scissor does 70.30% - 82.99% to Bold 252/252 Milotic.

EDIT: Ninja'd

any1 else noticing a rise of blaziken and steelix(roar/rocks/eq/gyro ball 0 speed iv) these days??

and registeel & milotic every game..../sigh

You say you notice a rise in Blaziken, a very good wallbreaker, and then you mention the ubiquitous walling core of Milotic and Registeel.

Correlation. You almost has it.

I failed to avoid Spiritomb today.
I swear it was on every damn team i faced today.

Then i used SubSD Absol just for fun. And it WAS fun.

PS: special LO Tangrowth rocks. It doesn't lose much walling potential, but it gains very nice power. Leaf Storm, Ancientpower, Sludge Bomb, Focus Blast.... the movepool is good.

I don't have a fighting/fire/rhyperior on my team? Feel free to sweep Curse Registeel :))

Just use anything with encore, haze, phazing moves, boosting moves with a resistance to steel, leech seed, taunt...curse registeel sucks, there's way too much that can stop it. Curse users in general are pretty bad in UU. Curse Umbreon was probably the only viable one. Curse Miltank kinda would be too, if it weren't for the lol 70 base SDEF.

That is why you do pack Encore on offensive teams. You don't just give up fighting a certain playstyle just because you'd have to go slightly against the norm to do so.

Seconding Flareblitz, I don't think I've ever been swept by a curse pokemon in UU ever (and that goes for CM/NP Spiritomb and Slowking too). Encore is one of the best moves in the game but few people use it.
