wouldnt want to fuck with THIS charmeleon for instance
...I HAD THIS EXACT Costume for HOLLOWEEN '99!!! INCLUDING the mask!

Hahahaha, this made my day...! Oh man, the memories...

Anyway, about the arguing. I agree Gaburaisu, 100%. No sense bickering about something that's inevitable. Just agree to disagree, and try to make the most of the designs even if you dislike them - that's all you can do, really.

What if in gen 5 oblivious took the word more into context and ignored things such as [but not limited to] Trick and Taunt as well? Mamo lead usage would skyrocket..

Uhm, no? These are definitely some objectively terrible designs that look nothing like poke'mon. Take that retard bat-koffing, zaoarakorok, and wotter. Absolute shit. Even worse than Bronzong and Lopunny.

Not to mention that pigeon, which is Literally Just A Pigeon(tm)

The fact that some people are disagreeing with you shows that these are not "objectively terrible" designs. Grab a dictionary and look up what the word "objective" actually means.

So Koromori (which looks nothing like a Pokemon) also looks like Koffing (which is a Pokemon)? In the words of Jon Stewart: "That's not circular logic, that's circle-jerk-ular logic."

However, I do agree with the last part of your post. These new GameFreak artists are so unoriginal.

OH WAIT

I don't see how an Otter can turn into a Polar Bear

Bam.

for the halloween of '99 my mom wouldnt buy me a costume so i cut out a pikachu tail out of yellow felt and colored the tip brown and stapled it to my pants

I like Crocanaw... Feraligator I could do without.

I vaguely seem to remember this exact same conversation back in the days before GSC... Also, I still want my skateboard. :-(

i bet soon there will be a 'if you like mijumaru from the start, before you saw his evolutions, copt and paste this into youre sig'

Oh no, someone disagrees with me! Troll!

wait a minute..

My are mommy?

You're entitled to your opinion, but just leave it as being an opinion, don't cram it down peoples faces and say that these designs are OBJECTIVELY TERRIBLE. You can hate them, but don't force other people to, because it's not going to work, and in regards to boring designs.

Bronzong is a bell, not that exciting right?

Because you're just thinking of it as a bell and not

HOLY SHIT THIS BELL FLOATS AND HAS PSYCHIC POWERS, HOLY SHIT.

I mean, Starmie is a starfish and Geodude is a rock with arms, but when you were a kid did you say

"Oh a rock. Lame"

or

"Oh a starfish. Lame"

No.

It's more like OH HOLY SHIT THIS STAR FISH JUST FUCKING BLAAAAAASTED THAT THING WITH SOME CRAZY WATER ATTACK. COOOOOL.

But really, what's awesome about Starmie itself? It's just a starfish with a gem.

Charmander? It's a fucking LIZARD ON FIRE. Which is not only... not that amazingly creative or anything, but fucking ludicrous.

Charizard? Oh yeah, it's a dragon that breathes fire, NEVER THOUGHT I'D SEE THAT.

Totodile? It's my favorite pokemon but it's just a fucking alligator.

I honestly can't believe people who were so sure it would get a badass evolution were... right. It's just unfathomable that they turned Mijumaru into such a badass only in its SECOND STAGE.

I think I said a couple pages back, if you describe any Pokemon in every little detail, they all sound pretty retarded.

How do they not look like Pokemon? I always get confused when people say this, because they are drawn up by the same guy usually and Gamefreak hires a lot of new designers and probably gives them a vague idea of how to design a Pokemon but there really is no definition or example of what a Pokemon should look like. Pokemon, Pocket Monsters... They all look like Monsters to me!

In your opinion they are terrible, in my opinion I [at least] like all Pokemon designs, from Gen1 to Gen4 and now Gen5. I think Zoroark looks wicked and Wotter is adorable, say what you want but don't act like your opinion is the accepted.

What's a problem with the pigeon Pokemon looking somewhat like a pigeon? I think that was the general idea lol... First people complain that new Pokemon are over detailed and look nothing like real animals, but when they look more realistic they are too realistic. Some people are completely ridiculous. And also, by saying that you pretty much discredit majority of Gen1, because 90% of them look just like their source animals.

Well, you know, it's unoriginal if it looks like what it's supposed to be but it's stupid if it's more abstract. Unpleasable fans, you know. I've heard plenty of people say they hated new designs because the old Pokemon actually looked like what they were based on.

You have to admit, though, an LOL SNAKE WITH LEGS is an awful idea, but they did it pretty god damn well. And at least they had a practical reason for doing that.

Empoleon. Water/Steel. Neutral damage from Grass.

Torterra can hit him super effectively with Earthquake (which he learns by level up, and gets STAB on). Empoleon can still hit Infernape SE, and Infernape can hit the other two super effectively. Grass/Steel can't hit Fire/Ground super effectively AT ALL.

i dont complain on originality, i mean, we're practically bound to have something to compare any pokemon with, and their concepts are not original, for any of them, cause theyre based on something....the thing i'm kinda taken off is the designs, which seems to be more....designed xD

i still like the new pokes, specially that green floating thing on the pic with other two pokes
and i'm still hoping for a polar bear pokemon, but with fire and ice attacks :o

Then something other than Fire/Ground, cause I want a Grass/Steel :p

Grass/Steel can never hit a Fire starter super effectively by virtue of both its STABs being resisted (so it could only ever hit it for neutral). I say leave Grass/Steel to something else, or scrap the entire idea of each starter hitting each others super effectively. Give Mijumaru Water/Fighting, Pokabu Fire/Steel, and Tsutaja Grass/Flying.

Sceptile resists both of Swampert's STABs so it's not like they avoid that entirely. Also for some reason you seem to be under the impression that a starter can't use any moves for which it doesn't get STAB. This is false. Swampert CAN hit Sceptile super-effectively with an ice move, etc.
