King cobra grass/steel like I predicted
Mijumaru water/fighting like I predicted
Pokabu Fire/Ground like I predicted
Zekrom Dragon/Electric like I predicted

would be ftw :3

I've also been saying this about the starters from the start.

Looking at the pic of Smugleafs Evo couldn't you guys see those spikes getting really sharp and pointy, blade like?

I'm pretty confident that the thing next to Jessie's foot is the next Pseudo. But this is probably because it reminds me of Gible.
I thought it looked a lot like Larvitar, but kinda like Froslass too for some reason.

I think Ledian and Ariados should get Evo's here the more I think about it, because they are the only 2 bug lines from early on in game that aren't 3 stage. Except for Kricketune but seriously how could that evolve to be cool?

I still say a fire ant Pokemon would be the best idea for a Bug/Fire Poke.

Gible-ish thing ユバコ (yubako)
mijimaru evo ラコノスア (rakonosua)
tsutaja evo ケナヤーケ (kenayaake)
bat thing コロモリ (koromori)

Yubako and Kenayaake are my best guesses and could easily be wrong (that picture isn't very clear) but i'm sure about the other two, especially the bat.

I'd like to again point out that mijimaru and tsutaaja have different names under them. I think that they may be nicknames for the anime. I gave up on reading them, they are too blurred.

Stage 2 you mean.

Stage 3 doesn't exist.
*rolls eyes* You know what he means...
Stage 1 -> Stage 2 -> Stage 3

That's how I think of them too, I don't care if the Pokemon Trading Cards say otherwise.

Anyhow, I HOPE they don't waste the potential of the Grass/Steel typing I've wanted for so long on the grass starter... that would be terrible, a grass snake is completely the wrong flavor. I'd rather see an tree-like Pokemon with iron bark, or the Grass/Steel Koala that was mentioned earlier.

I too like the little fuzzball bat. I wonder what his evolutions will be like...?

(facepalm)

If you read what I said carefully you would understand the meaning.

3 stages=
  • 1. Caterpie -> 2. Metapod -> 3. Butterfree
  • 1. Weedle -> 2. Kakuna -> 3. Beedrill
  • 1. Wurmple -> 2a.Silcoon -> 3a. Beautifly
  • 1. Wurmple -> 2b.Cascoon -> 3b. Dustox

Yo I didn't decide what they put on the trading cards, geez.

wow basing everything on the card game!

which is pretty dumb cause the card game is practically unrelated to the videogames (what is? appearance, names, general idea perhaps? not even typing is always tha same)
like that lugia card, i mean, it makes lugia water type and it knows 'wave splash', wtf?

imagine people angry at the games cause mechanics don't work the same way or even the attacks that pokemon get

that's why i just call them by their name, or first/second evo and unevolved

I have always hated the basic, stage 1, stage 2 system. 1st stage, 2nd stage, 3rd stage makes a lot more sense.

and to me. took me awhile to work out that there was no 'stage 3' when I have referred to various pokes as being part of a 3 stage evolution family.

I have a quick question regarding Dragon-types. Why aren't there any fully-evolved Dragon types at ALL? 1st gen I kind of understand but with Mence, they could have made it a pure-dragon type and given it the ability Levitate to retain the flying feel.

One way I can see GF remedying this is by creating an alternate evolution for Dragonair that retains Dragonair's style instead of switching over to the "winged dragon" feel that Dragonite has. It would retain its "pure dragon" typing, have Shed Skin for an ability, and, as I see it, be an amazing tank. Phenominal stats in every stat but speed, which would be equal to Dragonair's or less. Or something to that extent that plays very differently from Dragonite or Salamence.

Another question: why do all the starters have the same ability? I'd like to see perhaps an ability change through evolution for this group, but then again, that's probably no more than a dream.

A levitating pure dragon (Shed Skin :/) would be so raw. Only weak to Dragon and Ice but not 4x weak to Ice. Give it Latias-esque bulk (maybe with a bit more physical bulk) and it would be so awesome!!

And I'd say the starters have the same ability for consistency. It kind of makes sense that you would have a Pokemon that was your first and once it got low enough on health it would suddenly want to win for you and improve it's attacks by 1.5x the strength.

Yes, this is an excellent idea. Shed Skin is a wonderful ability, and Dragonair's balanced stats, if boosted by an evolution, would make it a wonderful versatile tank and threat at the same time.

Besides, I always liked Dragonair's looks/style more than Dragonite.
Perhaps it could evolve by exposure to a Dawn Stone, or a similar method.

This was discussed earlier, and... although we'd all like to see something different, there's most likely no chance.

I think they really messed up on Dragonite when it comes to base stats, anyways, so I'd love to see a Dragonair alternate evolution. I doubt it'd happen, though, because pseudo-legends seem like they were made to be all powerful. They decided to add 30 to all of its stats except attack and speed. The former of which they gave a 50 point boost to, while the latter they only boosted by 10, though I guess it's because pseudo-legendaries have to have attack stats of at least 130 :/.

What exactly is a "pseudo legend"?

EDIT:
Spenstar, same time post - Epic.

@Shroomisaur:About the Dragonair potential alternate evo, would it get the usual comparison to fellow dragons Mence and Dragonite if it got a tank build, or would it be exempt from that despite its typing? And as for HOW it'd evolve, I personally see it as a location sorta thing like Leafeon and Glaceon, but that's just me.

On another note, am I the only one who thinks that the ability thick fat isn't being used to its full potential? A pokemon like Foretress or ANY 4X ice weak pokemon would KILL for that kind of ability.

I could actually see a Nair alternate evo (even though Nite is one of my favorites)

And how cool would it be to have a specially based pseudolegend? Some of them have decent Sp. Atk but it'd be cool to see a 135 Sp. Atk, fast sweeper that wasn't as frail as Zam.

EDIT: Pseudolegends are those that aren't legends with 600 BST. Namely Nite, T-Tar, Mence, Gross, and Chomp

Blissey likes your style. LOL

A pseudo legend is a term used to describe a 600 BST poke that has a three-stage evolution and is usually hard to get. Previous pseudo-legends are Dragonite, Tyranitar, Salamence, Metagross, and Garchomp.

a pseudo-legendary pokemon is a pokemon with the same BST has legendary pokemons like celebi and mew, they all got massive atack stats and are overall balanced in everything else.

the term pseudo-legendary can also mean fake legendary what come from they BST,matching the BST of other legendarys while not being legendary pokemons thenselfs.

in most cases pseudo-legendary pokemons got great movepools, the only one that dont follow this rule is garchomp who movepool is above average at best(and only because of his STAB moves).

its easy to notice pseudo-legendary pokemons were made to be powerful and used in competitive. all of the pseudos are OU and got unique(and most of the time useful) traits about them.
