Haha cool, more new pokemon.

Hopefully Dark/Flying for something original. It looks okay, kind of plain but that contrasts some of the more complex designs we've seen so far in Gen. V

Before the screenshot I was hoping so hard it was fake. Obviously, it's not ... and the back sprite is just so bland and uninspired ... next to Smugleaf it looks like absolute shit.

Damn, you must have thought long and hard before posting a response. I had this whole snarky reply all thought up, but it's totally different than what I thought you were going to say... oh well.

I don't think "uninspired" is the word you were looking for, here. I would think "oh a floating sphere bat" would require some kind of inspiration, whereas something like Mamepato or Pidgey or Raticate or something are more ripe for being called "uninspired".

With each passing reveal the pokemon get assier and assier ...

lolopinions.

Koromori looks better then I expected it to. I haven't gotten a good look at the face though, so that will probably change. it's light blue though, which I find an unappealing colour. hopefully it evolves into something neat, and not blue.

by the way, anyone care to do an HP base stat calculation for Koromori?

I think that's why I like it so much, it's so simple. It takes a while to appreciate complex designs, but simple designs are pretty straight forward: you either like it or you don't.

Sorry, I made a mistake. It was actually higher (check the edited post).

Assuming 0 EVs: if Koromori has a 31 HP IV, it is closer to 90. If it has a 0 HP IV, it is closer to 100.

Koromori's HP at LV 50: 162
0 EVs / 31 IV, base 90, LV 50: 165
0 EVs / 0 IV, base 100, LV 50: 165

Koromori seems to have somewhere between 90 and 100 base HP.

wowza.

so that's two Pokemon with big HP stats (Munna and Koromori) that seem likely to evolve. I like where this is going.

I figured that, it seems an awful like Drifloon, and will probably have similar stats (but hopefully an evolution with Roost).

ironically, it looks like it could be Ghost/Flying type. Dark/Flying would also make sense, based on the design (little devil wings).

Pidgey is inspired as all get out, son. They made a hawk adorable, while still looking like it could beat your ass. And then they gave papa hawk a ballin' mullet.

Then we get a ball with wings.

... Excitement ...?

Dude, half of first gen is "ball with blank"

Yeah, first gen had some derptastic designs, but so far only a handful of these new pokemon look good. And seeing as how, like, 20 have been revealed, that's a handful of a handful. Zazzyrockman's design is so horrible in so many different ways it should count several times, to be honest. GSC design supremacy. RSE too, I suppose ...

Pidgey is a fucking bird. it's not inspired, or unique. it's a standard bird with nothing to make it look like a fantastical creature that Pokemon are supposed to be. it gets a mullet when it evolves, which helps a bit, but in the end it's still looks like nothing more than a cartoon bird.

a ball with wings is a goofy idea that has no real world counterpart, and would require people to actually think up what it looks like off of vague inspiration. it's not a copypasta of a real animal with hardly anything changed, like Pidgey is.

Look at Pidgey. And Spearow. And Hoothoot and Noctowl ... Then look at new Pigeonbirdmon. THAT is literally a copy-paste, The pirds of pokemon past actually have some style. I'm sorry you're a gay baby.

Just pre-ordered my JP copy of Pokémon White!

you know how to read some japanese yes? i will wait for the english version to come out, play japanese HGSS was hard enough for me and i knew the GSC story, BW would be impossible for me.

also DAMN! base 100 hp? that is awesome.

I am not able to read Japanese, but I managed to play through JP Pearl, HG, and Platinum. It also helps to have a few friends that are also ordering the JP version so you can help each other out if one of you gets stuck. Back in 2006, myself and a few others also started a small (and now dead and forgotten) forum where various translation info was posted to help others with their playthrough.

Speaking of the birds the new pigeon is my favorite of all the starting birds for sure.

I was wondering where the pic of the baby blue dude with wings came from. I acutally like him.

How much does it cost to get/ order a copy of japanese white version in America?
