UU Sunny Day team

Changes in RED

Okay, not only is this my first team with a specific theme, but it is my first UU team.

A Closer Look:
480uxie.jpg

Uxie @ Heat Rock
Impish Nature
252 Hp / 100 Def / 156 SpD
~Sunny Day
~Stealth Rock
~Thunder Wave
~U-Turn

Why?: Uxie can pretty much survive 2 or 3 hits from any lead in the UU teir. This makes it so he can Paralyze, set up rocks, and get the sunny day in. After the paralyze, Uxie should out speed most leads and U-Turn outta the battle to send in another poke. If the foe uses Taunt, U-Turn will be used to switch to another poke than can set up Sunny day.

Exeggutor_by_Brinstar.png

Exeggutor @ Life Orb
Modest Nature
252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 Hp
~synthesis
~psychic
~solar beam
~explosion

Why?:With Chlorophyll, Exeggutor has an amazing 418 Spe and 383 SpA. With life orb, he becomes a sweeper unmatched in the UU tier. Psychic and Solar Beam are his most powerful STAB moves, solar beam being very powerful with sun. Synthesis will heal 2/3 of his HP, so he can heal great ammounts at a time. Explosion should do some good damage if he cant do much more in combat, and a KO is inevitable.

hitmontop.png

Hipmontop @ Heat Rock
Impish Nature
252 Hp / 68 Atk / 188 Def
~Sunny Day
~Rapid Spin
~Close Combat
~Stone Edge
Why?: With good defences, Hitmontop is a good pokemon to set up another sunny day when I need it. He also can use rapid spin and get rid of entry hazards that could be troublesome to my team. He should be able to survive a few hits, so after he sets up what he needs to, he can start to do some damage.

registeel.png

Registeel @ Heat Rock
Careful nature
252 Hp / 196 Def / 60 SpD
~Sunny Day
~Stealth Rock
~Explosion
~Rock Slide

Why?:His purpose is to easily provide another sunny day if needed. He can do this with his high defenses. Registeel also has the option of setting up rocks, and doing some good damage with explosion. He was given Rock Slide to do more damage to those pesky fire types, with sunny day up, fire type foes are not wanted.

Magmortar1.png

Magmortar @ Choice Scarf
Modest Nature
IV: 30 Atk, 30 Def
252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 Hp
~Fire blast
~Solar Beam
~hidden power [ice]
~focus blast

Why?: Magmortar is my late game sweeper. With 383 SpA and 397 Spe, he can pull of some good sweeps, and with Sunny Day up, his fire blast is extremely deadly. His other attacks are to cover common weakness's, making sweeping easier. Pretty much, at the end of the game, I bring in Magmortar and should be able to get a good mini-sweep in.

tangrowth.png

Tangrowth @ Life Orb
Adamant Nature
4 Hp / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
~Power Whip
~Earthquake
~Swords Dance
~Rock Slide

Why?: Similar to my Exeggutor, but a physical sweeper rather than special. Using Chlorophyll, he will have 398 speed, which should outspeed nearly anything in the UU metagame. With his amazing Def, he could easily set up swords dance if the foe is a physical attacker. With a swords dance up, he will have an amazing 656 Attack. With that and his high speed, and life orb, sweeping should be no problem. especially with Powerwhip, his 120 base power STAB attack.

When Rating: Leave constructive criticism. All advice will be deeply thought about and is much appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

you sorely need more pokemon to properly abuse sunny day. magmortar needs solar beam (if it can learn it =.=). i suggest putting tangrowth on this team as well. its a GREAT mixed sweeper. victreebell is a good choice as well, especially with specs and weather ball.

You need more Sunny Day abuse. Put SD or Mixed Tangrowth over Drapion. Also, Spiritomb isn't exactly a great Sunny Day support Pokemon. I think a Hitmontop would do well in it's place, to spin away rocks and counter Chansey. Magmortar needs SolarBeam, moar sun abuse!

Thanks for the advice. The problem I had with tangrowth is that his typing is too similar to that of exeggutor, but I guess with chlorophyll, it is worth it. Thanks again. :)
