Can the opponents on the battle tower ( or the AI ) in Platinum switch pokemon? I've played about 50 games and I have not seen them switch. Because I have seen some of the trainers in Platinum do so, I was wondering if the Battle Tower people can do it too. Just asking to be sure.

EDIT:
Also, is Aromatheraphy and Trick legal on Clefable? Can someone suggest a good pokemon that gets Aroma or Heal Bell + Trick?
Honestly, through experience, I'm pretty sure opponents in the battle tower do not switch Pokemon because they're not programmed to be smart enough to switch out to a counter to said Pokemon. ^_^

crit hit sequence

I have never seen anybody list the following move set and I was wondering if it was worth while thinking about.

1. focus energy
2. baton pass to a pokemon with superluck
3. use move like nightslash that has high crit hit rate.

if calcuations are correct and most of the time I am wrong that tells me crit hit 50% of the time. Right???

complete nube so please tell me if i am wasting our time

Aromatherapy and Trick is not illegal on Clefable if you want to use it, but it can only obtain both moves in HeartGold/SoulSilver. Celebi is another Pokemon that comes to mind who can Heal Bell + Trick.

@poccil & SatiSuicune
Thanks for the replies. I am planning on using Trick on the battle tower then maybe spam Calm Mind while the opponent is struggling with one move.

@Fatecrashers
Celebi sounds nice. Even though it can't enter the battle tower I am sure it will do good online. Thanks a bunch.

Another question. Sorry.

If I learn Spore with Shroomish.. then evolve. But decide for a bit I don't want Spore and learn a move over it.. will I be able to go to the move-tutor and learn it back? Or no because only Shroomish learns it

@ Thats PM: They can only be at the same time if the so called 'acid rain is in effect, which is when someone KOs a foe who is switching out with STAB pursuit during a weather condition (Yeah, I know, complicated, but if it weren't, GF would have fixed it.) Look on the research thread on Stark mountain, I think they have it.

@ Omnipresent: I can't understand your shorthand. Can you space them out a bit more?

Ok so like infernape 1 has 24 hp 25 spd and a hidden power of 40. Not so good but better spd and health for life orb I would assume but infernape 2 has 8 hp 22 spd but a hidden power of 62. Which do I keep n ya I know those aren't the best but it's what I got.

@phadunk.

no you cant do that. breloom cant go to the move relearner for spore. I wish it could, it makes training a shromish a pain

What would be a good moveset for a Hasty flawless Dragonite?
Try Mix-Nite.

From main site:
Dragonite @ Life Orb
116 Att/192 Sp Att/200 Speed
Superpower | Draco Meteor | Flamethrower | Roost/Thunderbolt

Maybe change up the EVs since yours is Hasty.

They only switch under rare circumstances, like when they have no moves that can hit you (think Shedinja). I've seen them use Baton Pass on occasion, but other than those two things I can't think of anything.

Opponents in the Frontier will occasionally switch, but the only times I've seen them do it are when both 1) your Pokemon resists/takes minimal damage from their entire set (like if you have +6 SpDef against a special attacker, and they don't have any super effective moves), and 2) they have a Pokemon that resists/is immune to the last move you hit them with (it may only be immunity). That means that you have to have used an attacking move on the previous turn for there to be any chance of the CPU switching out (I believe). I'm pretty sure Shedinja is an exception; the AI will switch out of Shedinja, even if you didn't attack them. I haven't tested Shedinja out myself, though.

How Are u guys getting pokemon with flawless ivs such as 30/31/30/31 etc? I've bred but never got them to do that. And I still need the quoted answered if possible

I'm trying to decide on a lead-ape moveset, I have an idea, but can't decide on last 2 moves. First 2 are fake out and u-turn, what would go well w/ them?

Omnipresent: Have you heard of RNG? It is using the game's random number generator to make good pokemon, by ensuring that the numbers which come up are favourable. Alternatively, people often use power items and everstones and patience, if you know how the first two work.

One boost boosts the stat to 150%, two to 200%, three to 250% and so on up to six to 400%. Drops are the reciprocals, so that one down is 66%, two is 50% down to 6 is 16%

Ya I breed them via items n everstone but I bet this rng thing is a better way but how efficient is it? And I still need to find out which infernape to run

Once you have learnt, it is uber efficient, and it does not take long to get flawless IVs and natures. Which Nape depends on your Moveset and team, because it is necessary to know how much you need a strong hidden power. If it is a booster, for instance, I would say it is more important to have the 62 bp one, because it has less attacks, but otherwise I would use the other because Nape needs speed and you would only use Hidden Power when it is SE, so it should be an easy OHKO or 2HKO.
