Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Does anyone have a spare pokerus pokemon for trade so that i can start my RNG in my SS.

And is it necessary to catch a perfect IV ditto in order to breed a good IV egg?

Klutch, yes, save in front of him. Then you can take the egg and hatch it to make sure it's shiny. Then reset and RNG for its IVs. Good luck!

Thank you, but the same thing happened to me again: it's not shiny nor is it female. I always seem to land on a frame of 7 (my Target Frame is 3) no matter which method I use (rejecting eggs or calling Joey). I don't get what I'm doing wrong -_-

That's really confusing; I don't know what would cause the frame to advance. I wish I could help, but I don't know what's wrong. I always pick a frame on 1, for simplicity's sake; I'm not sure if that would help you.

Yeah, I'll try to get a spread with a frame of 1.

Here's what I always do:
1. Try to hit my Target Seconds/Delay.
2. Call Elm several times to verify my seed.
3. If the seed is correct I exit the Pokegear and put my parents in the Daycare immediately.
4. [Method A] I stay still and call Youngster Joey. Bicycle to the entrance of Goldenrod City (until I can see the screen showing "Goldenrod City") and then bicycle down back to Daycare center area. I repeat this until the daycare man has an egg. Save in front of the daycare man. Pick up the egg, hatch it, and verify the frame.
4. [Method B] Bicycle to the entrance of Goldenrod City (until I can see the screen showing "Goldenrod City") and then bicycle down to the Daycare center area. I repeat this until the daycare man has an egg. Reject the 1st and 2nd egg. When he has the 3rd egg I save in front of him. Pick up the egg, hatch it, and verify the frame.

Okay, if i am to catch a wild pokemon of what i desire, what method shoul di use ? J right?

For hatching, i always go for J too?

Except for legendary roamers i use method 1?

Are you sure you're hitting your seconds/delay? Also, I'd suggest maybe accepting every egg and seeing what hatches from each one? Though I'm not sure if this would advance frames differently, but it's just an idea to see if somehow one of the rejected eggs may be your target.

Yes I'm sure because I verify my seed, Seconds, and Delay by calling Professor Elm. I could try what you suggested next time. I made a second post by the way; it describes the EXACT process of my RNG attempts.

The problem lies right there, calling Elm advances your frame by 1 each time. So that means the egg you collect ends up being many frames off what you think it may be. At least, I think that's the problem

When RNGing for shininess/nature, calling Elm doesn't advance the egg frame; eggs are on a seperate RNG. Only when you're going for IVs, calling Elm advances the frame.

If that was the case then I'd be on a frame of 9 (I need to call Elm 9 times to verify what seed I'm on) plus any further advancement I thought I needed (in this case it's 2 so the total frame should be 11 according to what you said). However, according to RNG Reporter and using the seed I landed on every time, 9A0402AA, the only match I got to the modest, male, and non-shiny Piplup is a frame of 7. The next frame on the list is 48 (while the lowest frame is 3 - my Target Frame).

That's the problem. You were landing on frame three, but the gender ratio of your pokemon is not 50/50. Edit: You're doing a starter pokemon right?

Yeah, it's Piplup.
Edit: Wow, it's as simple as that -_- . I will try again tomorrow and hopefully I will finally get it.
Edit 2: What if I used another viable pokemon of a different species with a different gender ratio?

I hope you do to. I've added this info to my guides as a cautionary note. It's not a problem that's come up often on the help forum. Edit: and so I never thought about adding it to my guides.

Btw, I discovered the problem by opening up Time Finder and just looking at every available option. That one stood out like a sore thumb. It's the one thing we all never asked you about. We were all looking at the usual problems.

Does anyone know of an online clock with a seconds reading that I can use as an external clock to sync my DS with to re-calibrate. I'm starting my entire RNG process over.

Yeah, I overlooked that option many times when I retried over and over; I'm a rare case lol.
Q: What if I used another viable pokemon of a different species with a different gender ratio to breed with Piplup?

@Bats: how about using your computer clock?

No, it's because the baby is going to be a piplup. You have to choose the opton based on the baby you expect to get.

Bats, if you're going to start all over again, I'd recommend just switching to HGSS. No calibration required, and it's just easier in general, according to most people.

I guess but I was trying to keep it AR free ;x But seeing as I only use legit hacks I guess I will. Where should I start though?

@Klutch- I've tried, but my comp runs a bit slow and the clock is inconsistent ;/

Start by familiarizing yourself with RNG Reporter, PikaTimer, and PokeRNG (Wichu's Program). Also, read through Riski's guides. If you need any help getting started, I'd be willing to walk you through it, but I'm too tired right now. I'll be on tomorrow.

PLEASE, someone help me.

okay, i am to catch a random wild pokemon with adamant nature and desired IVs.. when i enter the game, how do i know what frame i am currently in?

NO calibaration needed in HGSS? HUH!?!?!?
