Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

but anyways... @.com: i tryed RNGing my latios (i have HG) and i kept missing my frames cause of NPC's so i just gave up and got my mewtwo instead (only thing in my trade thread lol)

Ok thats good. What I dont get is how my frame is off. I immediately go to my pokegear and flip the station 3 times for a frame of 4. Is there an NPC near sudowoodo that's messing me up? And if there is, how can I avoid it?

That could be. Im not familiar with hgss rng abuse, so i wouldnt know how to fix it.

if you are catching that standing one, you should do elm calls to advance your frame instead of radio cause sometimes its unpredictable

here try Irwin calls, they work the same as Elm calls and are useful for the early parts of the game until you get Elm Calls, this post http://www.smogon.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2650883&postcount=268 describes which of Irwin messages translate into Elm so you could even use it verify your seed, each Irwin clal advances the RNG by 1. Also don't call Irwin when he wants to battle make sure you call on a day he doesn't want to battle, you can figure this out for yourself.

Just checking, but did you generate your Elm call list with a synch included and do you have that synch with you at the front of the party?

As for getting into the battle with sudowoodu faster, I use my right thumb pad to hit that recycle arrow on the lower right of the lower DS screen to go immediately into "talk" with the pokemon or the person giving a gift or whatever. It helps keep NPC movement down to a minimum or zero.
 
I meant, when you put your seed into RNG Reporter and hit generate (which automatically makes the Elm phone call list if you use method K for HGSS catches), did you also put a synch in before you hit generate?

Edit: The reason I'm asking this is because I'm checking that you have a synch at the front of your party and that the frame list was generated using the synch, because if you happen to have the wrong poke in front of your party, you will get weird results that seem to be on wrong frames.

If you didn't use a synch to generate your Method K frames list, then disregard this. It's some other problem you need to check for, possibly the NPCs mentioned earlier.

what are you trying to RNG? And you shouldnt have trouble with the frames because in the main screen of RNG Reporter, you should see a list with all frames for that seed and you can just follow along till your one away from your target frame and then talk to poke your trying to catch
 
I'm about to RNG using both the radio and the roamer method, but not the Elm method because I'm trying to RNG the roamers from Lance's room...

I'm trying to RNG a 31/x/31/31/31/31 Timid shiny, but unfortunately the time allotted is 11:00-11:59, which means it's Buena's Password, which is useless on advancing frames.

I found an RNG time which is 11:59:something, to get to 12:00 faster.

Question is...does time rollover from 11:59 to 12:00 affect the RNG???

If it was damn good advice my problem would have been solved. Which it wasn't. However, I found someone who actually knew what they were talking about, who actually listened to what I was saying and thus didn't make bogus assumptions, and now I'm back to RNGing shinies.

PS: I am female. Pink kitty avatar should have given it away. Just sayin'.

'(tested on HeartGold, US version) [Note: It has been reported that in European versions Entei is on frame 1 and Raikou on frame 5, rather than the other way around.]

When the roamers are regenerated post-E4, their stats are created via Method 1 on the following frames:

1st roamer: frame 1
2nd roamer: frame 6
3rd roamer: frame 11

The order for regeneration is Entei -> Raikou -> Lati@s. If all 3 roamers have been released and KOd, then defeating Lance will respawn Entei with frame 1's spread, Raikou with frame 6's spread, and Lati@s with frame 11's spread.'
 
Alright fellows. I am about to RNG a shiny Lugia with a very decent set of IVs. The problem is that the Frame is 1996. Is there a quicker way to get to that frame that I can depend on? I heard that calling Joey will advance the frame by 2 every time. Is this true? Is there a quicker way?

Radio outside of Lugia's cave (Pokemon talk), right click on the 1-# frames and click Find Elm Responses, which will jump you to the frame you're on. Then advance accordingly.

I'm sorry but what you said seems a bit vague. When I go to the radio to use Pokemon Talk what am I suppose to do while there? Tap the Screen?

If so, how many frames will be advanced by doing so?

Also, where is the 1-# frames option to right click?

Hey, thanks for response.
Maybe that was it, I couldn't check my Elm calls because I didn't have Pokerus (I do now), so was relying on Roamers alone.
Just getting the hang of it now though, got a flawless Suicune HP Electric, and going after a HP Grass Zapdos next ;).

DAMN! Someones got some attitude! And im not psychic cause im pretty sure it looks more like a pig cause its pink even though your name is ninja kitty. I dont know about you but i have never seen a pink cat. I'm pretty sure there are some feminine guys out there, a pink avatar does not reveal ANYTHING about you. @.com CONGRATULATIONS!! AND GOOD LUCK! ya i dont understand NPC's at all so i did the same thing as you did! But im pretty sure your on SS, so how about this: I will RNG my Kyogre and you RNG your Groudon and we could make a trade so we can both RNG the Rayquaza?

Basically you advance the frame with pokemon talk the same way as with the bottom-right channel, but pokemon talk advances the frame by 14-18. So say your target frame is 1000, you'd advance using pokemon talk say 50 times, then verify frame, and advance accordingly.

To verify the frame, on the main screen of rng reporter where you enter the seed and a list of all the frames comes up, right-click on any frame, click 'search elm responses', enter Elm's next 9 responses and reporter should match it to your current frame. however sometimes you get a false positive so you have to verify again - which is why you should leave yourself a buffer or like 100 frames before your target when you're advancing with pokemon talk.
 
Instead of advancing the frame with journal flips, can i just run around in grass with the step counter on, until i get to the right frame? (i would have repels on) this might be tedious going into the menu again and again, but it would eliminate mistake if the step counter counted for me

bad idea stick to journal flips everytime someone tries this they always miss their frame then come here and ask why it happened, even though step advancements seem to be consistent for DPP it's not always case.
