Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

A hint is to not always update your pikatimer. I mean, if youre way off the first time, ie your target delay is 888 and you hit 858 then yeah, update. But if you get 886..then don't update unless you hit 886 more than once.

But how will I know which delay I have hit? I've started getting the "no matching results" message again when I search Elm, so I have no way of telling which delay I have hit.

Roamer positions and elm calls are done to know what delay you hit. On the second box in seeds to time, have min/max delay at 99 and min/max seconds at 9. You should hit something on there if you're using pikatimer and your calibrated results are correct/close to what they truly are.

EDIT: Bakus = Bakusaiga, lolz. I'm an Inu fan too ^^

Good to know that you're a fan as well :) ..Totally my favorite anime. I can't wait to watch The Final Act!! I still need to watch the first movie I downloaded.

But anyways, I thought this might help you help me out a little bit. Here's a screen I took of my Seed to Times window: http://tinypic.com/r/j8fwwx/7
The highlighted box is the seed I keep trying to hit. The Elm calls don't match up with it.

Edit: PS, I caught all the roamers already.

So when you searched Elm Calls you get no matches? That shouldn't be the case. Wanted Delay and wanted seconds should be 503 and 14.

Also...another hint, when using pikatimer, go for a tad bit higher delays so you have some time to enter the game and doing it at your own pace. With what you're doing with your wanted delay is pretty much matching it with your calibrated delay, in which case only the first timer is really useful...since after that you're just madly mashing "a" just to make it.

...and haha, then you probably have no idea what Bakusaiga is, XD.

I haven't seen anything of it yet, but from what I know it's a sword of Sesshomaru's. Alright. So I've taken another screenshot to show you what I have in the pikatimer: http://tinypic.com/r/mvon4o/7 ..If this doesn't work should I increase the wanted delay by a few seconds than? I hope I'm following what you're saying. My apologies If I'm misunderstanding you :\

Nono, everything seems right. You set your DS clock to 6:57, your date to 2/26/10, and enter the game on the first timer ding and hit continue on the second. You should be hitting "something" in that range and getting a match. I don't see how you're not (unless you still have roamers out - Raikou, Entei, Lati@s, in which case they'd advance the frame by about 3 so take that into account).

I just meant that for future abuses (and maybe tomorrow if you still can't hit your delay) is to find a spread with a higher target delay. Your calibrated is 490 so I'd try to find a target delay of about 700 or so to give you some leeway on the time.

Make sure your reseting the time each time. Sometimes (like for me right now >_<) you cant hit your seconds for some stupid reason. Is there a reason to that , because my seconds just do not want to match!!!! :((((

Are you using a flash card? Flashcards tend to load at different times.

I somehow hit another Seed, which all my elm responses matched up to. I called Joey 4 times (since I had a frame of 9), but I apparently have him waiting on me for a battle. Does this make a difference? Anyways, I called him 4 times after depositing my Pokemon (which are both American) and went up and down the path and goldenrod city to wait for the old man to face outwards. After he was done facing outwards, I took the egg and hatched it, and alas, it wasn't shiny nor had the ability or nature I wanted it to. What went wrong? :*(

Oooh, nifty nifty. Every advice I've read so far have Joey status set to not wanting to battle, so I never tested it out myself, XD. Good to know I guess ^^

when rnging for your id and sid in platinum is at when you cancel the tv or cancel the talking after that your id and sid are generated

Hi there guys, I'm kind of new on this, and I have a question.

When I started my SS I SRed for a shiny starter, which I now have. Can I use those IVs to determine my SID?

Thanks in advance!

Okay, thanks a lot! I managed to calculate my SID: 32664..

I have another question. I have all the roamers roaming in my SS cart, and when I find a frame and delay for a shiny egg, I see Elm Responses, 3 of which are in brackets and say skipped. Do I skip recording the first 3 responses when I'm calling to see if I'm on the right seed? Or does the game automatically skip the first 3 responses?

Hey guys, I hit the timid hp ice pokewalker spread(the one dated 1-1-2011, 23:23) and got my surf pikachu with the correct ivs and hidden power, but the nature keeps coming up bold :( does anyone know the problem?(I cant rng)

@Dracojirachi: Unless you actually want to know how the nature generation works (which is a bit complicated to calculate on RNGReporter at the moment but definitely possible), I'd just suggest to try to press that A button a bit earlier or later than 23:23. I suggest earlier.

I don't remember which seed that HP Ice spread is. If you know, you can tell me and I can get you to try doing something different.

EDIT: Also, make sure you didn't have any "connection was disrupted" messages, because that will mess up the nature. Alternatively, you can try to purposely make connection disrupt so that you will get different natures, but that's really unreliable (you'll have to get lucky).

So here I am trying to RNG a wondercard pokemon in Cerulean City, where there are no wandering NPCs in the shop. I'm using pikatimer to try to hit 18 seconds, 639 delay. Unfortunatly, without making any adjustments to the pikatimer setting between attempts, I'm hitting anywhere from 15-20 seconds.

I'm about 95% sure I'm hitting start at the same time each attempt, so is there some other factor I'm overlooking?

Hello! Im RNGing an egg for flawless IV's, and my needed elm calls are:

pekkpeepppep

After calling professor elm, i got:

kkpeepppep.... But my first two calls should have been PE.. but somehow the rest is right.. did something interfere with the frames?

My target frame is 15, and my game is on the elm call that is in bold below:

kkpeepppep

Im a tad confused about why the first two TARGET elm calls did not happen when i called elm, but the rest did... I FINALLY have hit my delay for a flawless.. its taken forever.. I really hope i havent messed up :(

You didn't mess up as long as you didn't go over your target frame.

Roamers might advance your frames or there is a moving NPC in that area that could do it :)
