Base Stats of New Pokemon

Any idea what weak knees and competitive spirit are?

IIRC, weak knees cuts all of the user's stats in half when HP falls under 50%. That's actually a good thing, or else Aakeosu would be a F*CKING NIGHTMARE to stop.

I don't think competitive spirit has been revealed yet. Serebii will probably have it in, like, 5 hours though.

Well, Aekeosu shouldn't be too hard to kill considering its low defenses.

And I just realized that the base stat total for the Water/Fighting legendary is 580 and not 600 like most event legendaries :(

@ Thread:

Not sure if troll.

I'm not trusting anything on here until the game actually comes out. Most of this seems like wishful thinking.

Also, if this list is correct, seems that GF learned their lesson with Garchomp - the pseudo-legend (?) is just below base 100 speed.

No idea if this has been posted or not, but one thing I noticed...the standard "eevolution" spread (some combination of 110/95/60/60/65/130 stats) is nowhere to be seen in that list. This means:

1) There is no new eevolution :(
2) Gamefreak changed up the eevolution stat spread (hopefully with updates to the other ones too >_>)
3) This list is fake.

Opinions?

By looking at the sprites, I'm 100% sure there is no eevolution :)

I was hoping that GF would make the new pseudo-legendary surpass Garchomp. I like Ononokusu better than the Dark/Dragon pseudo-legendary.

EDIT: I've found 6 non-legendary lines of fire type Poke's, which is more than what DP had and is enough for a pure fire-type team.

Yeah, just get an aqua jet on it and Aekeosu won't be bothering you anymore. :/
The stats of some of these pokes are almost too good to be true:
Ononokusu: 147 Atk, 95 Spd-Banned before you can say Garchomp.
Shanderaa:145 SAtk, 80 Spd-Isee a potential choice scarfer.

Don't know if it's already been mentioned, but from the looks of things at the moment, Blissey will still be the best Special Wall in the game...

Oh god I want to see complete movepools so I can theorymon better!

For instance, look at this guy:

#597Desshiido (Lv. 40 -->)
#598Nattorei
Grass/Steel
"Iron Barbs"
HP: 89
Atk: 94
Def: 131
SpA: 49
SpD: 116
Spe: 20

I am really interested in seeing this guy's movepool and what Iron Barbs does. Basically a better version of Forry is what I'm hoping for. Resists SR, can hopefully spin and set up spikes, and Gyro Ball off of base 20 speed and 94 Attack is pretty boss. Not to mention it can switch in on outrages and draco meteors all day.

EDIT: As we are talkin about Shanderaa too, it looks amazing right now. It will probably get trick (it's a ghost), so hook it up with a scarf and you have Rotom-H 2.0, unfortunate SR weakness though. Also Tyranitar is gonna walk all over it.

I can start to see TTar + Doryuuzu + Burenkuru (jellyfish ghost) as a combo. TTar gives Doryuuzu +1 speed (132 base, outruns a large portion of the metagame) or a boost on STAB attacks, and Burenkuru could take on Fighting and Fire attacks aimed at the mole.
Great idea, excellent type synergy there.

Bug attacks aimed at Tyranitar: switch to either partner
Dark attacks aimed at Burenkuru: switch to either partner
Electric attacks aimed at Burnekuru: switch to Doryuuzu
Fighting attacks aimed at Tyranitar or Doryuuzu: switch to Burenkuru
Fire attacks aimed at Doryuuzu: switch to either partner
Ghost attacks aimed at Burenkuru: switch to either partner
Steel attacks aimed at Tyranitar: switch to either partner
Water attacks aimed at Tyranitar or Doryuuzu: switch to Burenkuru

That just leaves Ground and Grass unaccounted for, but a Flying or Grass Pokemon can handle those.

I'm really disappointed in the lack of an eevolution, or any old-gen evolution in general :( I was hoping for Super Houndoom or at least some way to justify the existence of Masquerain....

Edit: But yeah I actually love that many of these BSTs are highly specialized...seems to be getting more that way every gen

I wonder what the ability "Weak-Kneed" will do (fossil bird's ability). Perhaps lower its defenses or make it more likely to flinch? I hope its not absolutely horrible to the point where it can't be used (like Regigigas)... its my favorite 5th gen. Pokemon atm. D:

Not sure if this has been discussed yet. But Tabunne looks like it would be a good stall Pokemon

103/86/86 defences aren't great, but her abilities look really hepful.
Healing Heart makes your teammates immune to status while she is in play
We still don't know about Regeneration, but juding by it's name it will be useful.

It's unfortunate that she has the same typing as Blissey.

Also Warubiaru looks like it will be really good.

117 attack, 92 speed and Earthquake Spiral. Any attack boosting move could make him a great sweeper, and he looks like a great cleaner as is.

all the info we gotten says that if the holder of this trait goes to or below 50% HP it's stats are halved

This thread is about pokemons base stats, not their looks. Thanks ;)

I think Ononokuso is being a bit overrated right now. From that SpA, its not ever breaking Skarmory and other physical walls.

With a choice band it'll end up 2HKO'ing every steel type that's not Heatran with fire punch. Let's not get on the topic of earthquake. :/

Combine that with the fact that it may not even need a choice band if it has a rivalry boost.

Edit: And grass/steel at the end of the dex is awesome! 120 on both offensive stats with download! @__@

I have a feeling that this is going to be a good age for competitive battling. So many specialized pokemon and they all look fun as balls to play as.

Let's not forget the possibilities of Dragon Dance, Swords Dance, and other stat up moves.
