Introduction: I'm relatively new to shoddy, and although I've been playing on wi-fi for a bit longer, they play much differently. I couldn't really get into things in standard or even UU, but I've been having alot of fun in NU.
This is my first RMT so constuctive criticism and comments are appreciated.
At a glance:
Team-Building process:
As the title suggest, I wanted to build a team around Jynx, becuase of it's great Special Attack, Speed and it's good movepool.
My next step was entry hazards, to help Jynx net some OHKOs. I chose Glalie over Qwilfish for better defence. (Although Glalie still can't take a hit.)
Next I wanted two tanks, one for physical and one for special. I chose Quagsire as a physical wall and Vileplume as a special wall, they compliment each other nicely.
The next roles were ones I had decided from the start; A spinner and a spin-blocker. Dusclops makes a good NU spinblocker with great defences and meh HP. Torkoal was chosen due to it's ability to Spin, set rocks and explode onto it's counters.
After further testing and comments on the RMT I switched around movepools and replaced Torkoal with Armaldo.
With that out of the way let's get onto the individual analysis:
Individual Analysis: Changes are in Green.
Glalie w/ Focus Sash
Inner Focus
Jolly Nature
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 HP / 252 Spe
Spikes
Taunt
Ice Shard
Explosion
Overview: As a spiker it's designed to be fast and hit hard, but with 80 base everything, it's not going to do that very much. Taunt let's it shut down any boosting sweepers... In the odd case that you outspeed them.
Moveset:Spikes and Explosion are the obvious choices, Ice Shard for priority and Taunt to shut down boosting sweepers.
Conclusion: It's certainly no Froslass, but it does it's job. All you can do most of the time is lay spikes and explode. It's not up to par with Qwilfish in attack and speed, but it can take a few light hits.
Quagsire w/ Leftovers
Water Absorb
Impish Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Recover
Earthquake
Encore
Toxic
Overview: With Max. Def it can be troublesome to take out; that's saying the least, if you lack a grass type it can be a bitch to physical attackers. With great resistances and two immunities it has alot of opportunities to switch in.
Moveset: Recover gives it a bulky water status, Earthquake for STAB and Encore to give Jynx a chance to set up. Toxic to try and outstall other walls.
Conclusion: It impresses me alot, Recover shrugs off physical hits but special hits are big problems.
Despite it's downfalls, it proves it's worth; would gladly use it in another team.
Vileplume w/ Leftovers
Chlorophyll
Modest Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Sp. Atk / 4 Sp. Def
Sleep Powder
Leech Seed
Sludge Bomb
Substitute
Overview: It may seem strange to use Vileplume to sponge special hits without maxing special defence, but that would leave it as dead weight. With max special defence the only thing it can do is use Sleep Powder, or ocasionally Aromatherapy, but because most matches have sleep clause it dosen't do much. With max special attack it can do so much more.
Moveset:Leech Seed and Substitute for the obvius reasons. Sleep Powder takes out potential counter and it gives time to Sub and Leech Seed, Sludge Bomb for STAB.
Conclusion: A personal favorite, it takes special hits well and dishes them out well also. Sleep Powder can let it Aromatherapy, or give Jynx an attempt to set up.
Jynx w/ Lum Berry
Forewarn
Timid Nature
EVs: 252 Sp. Atk / 4 Sp. Def / 252 Spe
Lovely Kiss
Ice Beam
Grass Knot
Nasty Plot
Overview: The Pokémon that inspired the team. With correct support, she is a beast; but if accuracy acts up it could be fatal.
Moveset: Lovely Kiss to take out potential counter and give Jynx time to set up. Ice Beam is great STAB and Grass Knot provides coverage on bulky waters. Nasty Plot furthers her ability to sweep.
Conclusion: Once entry hazards are up she can attempt to sweep. She switches alot so spinning support is required, she rarely let's me down.
Dusclops w/ Leftovers
Pressure
Relaxed Nature
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 Sp. Def
Will-O-Wisp
Pain Split
Shadow Sneak
Seismic Toss
Overview: NU dosen't have a spectacular array of ghost types, and even so a spinblocker is even rarer, but Dusclops can be a blessing with great defences unfortunately, it's other stats make it less appealing.
Moveset: Will-O-Wisp to nueter physical attackers, just watch out for guts users. Pain Split is a gimmicky recovery and Seismic toss let's it deal some damage. Shadow Sneak to pick off weakened opponents.
Conclusion: It definitley has longevity but can't deal much damage. It makes a better spinblocker than Banette though...
Armaldo w/Leftovers
Battle Armor
Impish Nature
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 Def
Rapid Spin
Stealth Rock
Rock Blast
Knock Off
Overview: I tried Torkoal, Sandslash and Armaldo as a spinner, but this guy completely outshone the other two. It has great physical longevity and has decent special longevity.
Moveset: Rapid Spin and Stealth Rock, clear status and lay my own. Rock Blast for STAB and to defeat Substitute Mons. Knock Off can really mess something up.
Conclusion: I like this guy, he can survive assaults and spin hazards, which is exactly what I wanted. Sorry Torkoal.
Evaluation: The team can deal with those pesky Special Walls alot better now, but there is still some teams I have trouble with. Definite improvments though.
