Ferrothorn

This guy's physical movepool isn't that bad IMO. Payback/Shadow Claw have their uses. And it has Poison Jab *Shot*

But seriously, Payback is worth considering with this guys' low speed and decent bulk, and can be considered over say ,Explosion.

I guess so, but it doesn't really matter either way. Shandera is the bulkiest resist for Gyro Ball that's weak to Payback, yet he can still be OHKOed after SR damage Gyro Ball. Stoned Dusclops can take Gyro Ball pretty well, but suffers against Power Whip.

Seriously, the only moves you really need on the set are Gyro Ball and Power Whip. Spam those two moves and you'll easily do a lot of damage if you can just get rid of things like Skarmory. I have a feeling that using the other two moves are just going to get you set up on since Nattorei really needs STAB to compensate for a mere above average 94 base Attack.

It gets an extra layer of entry hazards up before it dies.

Or Level Ground, Shed Shell or having a team mate lure it in and KO (Scizor, anyone?).

What should I use with Spikes when the rest of my team is Bluengel, Blaziken, Breloom, Latios, and Porygon2?

What goes good with those two moves and Level Ground? Ground fights good against Fire Types and Magnezone, and more than just its Stab moves do.

I've been using this in a Trick Room team to certain degrees of success:

Nutty@Life Orb
Brave (+Atk, -Spe)
252 HP, 252 ATK, 4 DEF
0 Spe IVs
~Swords Dance
~Gyro Ball
~Power Whip
~Payback/Return

When Dusclops/Pory2 sets up TR, switch in and take the hit like a champ (unless it's a fire or fighting-type move), SD up and enjoy the carnage for 4 turns. It takes hits very well even with so much investment into defensive stats.

I've been trying out both Gyro Ball and Iron Head, because Iron Head makes contact, and could be useful for breaking subs, sturdy, sash, etc. For some reason though, it isn't doing the iron barb (or whatever the ability's called) damage... anyone else having this problem? Every online resource says it makes contact, and Power Whip does the extra damage just fine...(and this is on an actual cart, not a simulator)

I take it you haven't been using Trick Room for very long? Trick Room counters the turn it's used so you only have four turns after setting up, and consider the turns wasted switching and using Swords Dance you only have two turns to sweep before the twisted dimensions return to normal.

Nattorei, it's not a staller, in my opinion.

Nattorei is better suited as a glue on a bulky offense team. Good resists, decent power, hazards, it's a godsend for Bulky Offense or Balance teams.

However, due to lack of reliable recovery, it's not a stall-team pokemon.

I'm using it with Swampert and Tentacruel to set up hazards, and take hits. It's a perfect partner. Tentacruel covers both of it's weaknesses, and Swampert may as well be resistant to Fighting with it's bulk. Nattorei takes loldamage from Grass-type moves, making it a great Swampert partner, the only 'weakness' in the trio is Ground... which still isn't going to dent Nattorei and Swampert.

It could likely run Rest/Talk with relative success.

I can see a support set cooking up already!

Nuttre @ Shed Shell / Aiming Mark
Impish / Careful 252 HP / 8 Atk/ 168 Def / 72 SpD

Stealth Rock
Spikes
Power Whip
Explosion

Eh, it gets hazards up and whatnot. With aiming mark Explosion is pretty safe to use once you no longer need him.

People have probably already said this, but stealth rock and spikes are illegal. Just wanted to put that out there.

I had similar thoughts. For a while a ran max hp max attack adament nattorie with entry hazards and it's stabs. I'm considering bringing it back with twave or leech seed over one of the entry hazards because it worked very well. Things like doryzu thought they could set up on natty and ended up eating a powerwhip or gyro ball. While your defences aren't as good as fully invested ones, they are good enough, and that ability to put out an offencive presence (even a small one) is very valuable on offencive teams.

This is pretty cool, and I like the fact that Nattorei is offensively viable to some degree!

Just don't run Thunder Wave and Gyro Ball on the same set :P

what's bulky offense and balance teams

I'll explain, bulky offense is when you have a team full of...well bulky pokemon who can also hit for good damage(tyranitar and machamp are good examples). Balance teams usual have , a lead,a physical wall, special wall, mixed attacker, A sweeper, and either a spin blocker another sweeper or a rapid spinner. Hope I helped :)

Well, I have Nattorei (lead) Bluengel (special wall, spin blocker) Porygon2 (physical wall, tank) Blaziken (you probably saw that coming, mixed attacker) Latios (sweeper) Breloom (another sweeper)

So that counts as a balance team, and therefore it's good on the team, right?

I think that's pretty balanced, at least in my opinion. Nattorei works well here :D

Well, which combo works best here, in my team situation?

Spikes/Leech Seed (Iwapares)
Spikes/Stealth Rock (Cacturne)
Stealth Rock/Leech Seed (4th Generation Torterra)

And is Level Ground worth it?
