My first team to win OU standard

Aerodactyl @ razor fang
Pressure
255ATK/255SPE
Adamant

-Iron Head
-Fire Fang
-Stealth Rock
-Crunch

I chose aerodactyl because of his speed and ability to set up stealth rock. Stealth Rock really is so cool! cutting of hp and destroying weak anything to rock. Iron head has 30% flinch and with razor fang chances of flinching increases. Fire fang to fend of ice types and steel types. Crunch for those psychic types which is slower than aerodactyl.

-------------
Tyranitar @ Enigma Berry
Sand Stream
90HP/240ATK/90DEF/90SPD
Brave

-Earthquake
-Crunch
-Stone Edge
-Surf/Fireblast

Since Tyranitar has high defenses Im pretty sure he wouldnt be knocked out easily so i gave him enigma berry. Earthquake for Steel, rock and mostly Electric Types. Crunch For Psychic types.. gosh i hate them since dark is immune to psychic i should kill them with crunch. Stone Edge for Ice and Flying types that can mess my team. Surf to defeat other rock types or Fire Blast For Grass Types.

------------
Jirachi @ Leftovers
Serene Grace
250SPD/250SPA/10SPE
Timid

-Clam Mind
-Psychic
-Energy Ball
-Flash Cannon

Calm mind really helps jirachi power up so i decided to use to start sweeping teams together with my 5th pokemon. Psychic so powerful even with 2 calm minds and with it no fighting could live long enough to cause havoc. Energy ball for water/ground types that think they can escape my wrath. Flash cannon is... I dont really know please help me a good move for jirachi.

-----------
Gyarados @ Leftovers
Intimidate
252ATK/255SPD/3DEF
Jolly

-Aqua Tail
-EarthQuake
-Dragon Dance
-Iron Tail(Need suggestion for change)

Gyarados seems to be the only water type that focuses on offense. Aqua Tail will help me defeat most of my foes. Earthquake for those electric types out there trying to defeat me. Dragon Dance to speed me up and increase power.

-----------------
Magmortar @ LeftOvers
Flame Body
35HP/255SPE/220SPA
Timid

-Psychic
-Energy Ball
-Flamethrower
-Will-O-Wisp

Just tried him and he made me love him. Psychic for those fighting types that think they have a chance on me. Energy Ball for fire types weaknesses ground/rock/water see it covers it all. Flamethrower to finish things off with grass and steel types. I dont think will-o-wisp is needed so i also need suggestions for this.

-----------
Forretress @ Leftovers
Sturdy
110HP/240ATK/80DEF/80SPD
Brave

-Protect
-Rapid SPin
-Explosion
-Bug Bite

Protect keeps me from fainting easily and gives me more chance to use explosion. rapid spin to remove those pesky SR's and spikes/toxic spikes and still does little damage:D. Bug bite so i can attack in case of emergency of strong dark or psychic types on loose.

Hi I am in no way an expert having just joined smogon and made my first team only days ago. So please ignore my suggestion if you feel they are stupid.

- This must me just me but you seem to have 2 extra EVs for each pokemon
- If you want a water move on Tyranitar I would suggest Aqua Tail as it is physical and makes better use of Tyranitars massive physical attack (when it hits).
- I would also swap Aqua Tail for waterfall on Gyrados just to garentee a hit with little loss of power.
- Instead of iron tail of gyrados you could use stone edge (just saying).
- You could also get forretress to set up spikes or toxic spikes for extra entry hazards.
- As aerodyctal is the lead it is most likely to come up against a metagross. Metagrosses high defence and sometimes occa berry means that fire fang is not going to do a lot. You could try changing it for STAB rock slide or stone edege.

Good luck

There are actually 510 EVs available for distribution, but the last two are generally disregarded because four EVs are required to add a stat point at Lv. 100. That's why in Smogon's analyses the EV spreads only add up to 508.

As far as allenb's team goes, good for the most part, I would recommend changing out Fire Fang on Aerodactyl for Earthquake to deal with Metagross. Plus you'll want to remove Iron Head for Taunt and change natures to Jolly in case you come across another Aero lead, as with Adamant you'll move second every time. Also, If you run a mixed set on Tyranitar, you'll want EVs in Special Attack. Maybe also change the nature to, say, Naïve (as with a Brave nature, it won't be outrunning much even with 80 EVs).

Beyond that, excellent first team. Better than a lot of other first tries.

This team isn't bad for a first try, but there are several key errors.

There are 2 main reasons to usually use Aerodactyl as a lead-
1. Prevent others from setting up Stealth Rock 100% of the time, unless you're against an opposing Aerodactyl.
2. Set up Stealth Rock 100% of the time, unless you're against an opposing Aerodactyl.

As such, since you don't have taunt, you're missing out completely on Point 1, and on Point 2, you might as well use Azelf, because it has more natural bulk and better attacking options than Aero. So either switch to Azelf or give your Aero Jolly nature and Taunt.

For Tyranitar, I suggest Aqua Tail/Fire Fang for the last slot, as it uses your higher Physical Attack. Also, if you want bulk, I suggest replacing Engima Berry with Leftovers- you're probably going to survive more than 4 turns anyway.

With Jirachi, I would replace Flash Cannon or Psychic with either HP Fire, or Thunderbolt, for better coverage.

Agreeing with above, Stone Edge>Iron Tail on Gyara.

For Magmortar, I would suggest replacing Psychic/Will-o-Wisp for Thunderbolt/Hidden Power, but that's just me in theory, never used him.

Forretress looks good, but Gyro Ball should do more damage than Bug Bite, and you might consider Spikes/Toxic Spikes over Protect.

I know I'm nitpicking, so I'm sorry, and it's pretty decent for a first try. Good Luck!

I'm using Choice Scarf Magmortar with Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Focus Blast and Hidden Power [Ice]. I think that you should choose Focus Blast or Hidden Power [Ice] to replace Will-O-Wisp.

I will also say this, great job for a first team!

Specs Jolteon could be a big problem for this team (bar Tyranitar).
Jolteon Thunderbolt VS. Aerodactyl - minimum 100%
Jolteon Thunderbolt VS. Tyranitar - minimum 37%
Jolteon Thunderbolt VS. Jirachi - minimum 48%
Jolteon Thunderbolt VS. Gyarados - minimum 100%
Jolteon Thunderbolt VS. Magmortar - minimum 100%
Jolteon Thunderbolt VS. Forretress - minimum 87% (ranges to about 102%)

These pokemon have been adjusted to the EVs you've given and all of the calculations are done after sandstorm is active. Before that, Jirachi's damage is much higher.
Once Tyranitar is gone, Jolteon could pretty much OHKO/2HKO the rest of the team with Thunderbolt (notice the minimum 48% on Jirachi, so it will most likely do over 50%). I recommend changing Forretress to a Scarf Flygon. This will give this team a revenge killer, which it currently lacks along with a great Electric counter. I think Flygon would be something to consider, especially when facing Jolteon.

I guess you're right maybe because i never faced anyone with jolteon and most of electric types that i face were easily defeated by my magmortar

I was just about to suggest Hidden Power Ice. A good Dragon-type like Flygon could run through your team without some sort of check, and I didn't see any Ice- or Dragon-type moves, well, anywhere on your team.

I'd also consider giving Gyarados Ice Fang over Iron Tail, for much the same reason. You've already got Flash Cannon and Iron Head as far as Steel-type attacks go, and honestly there's not much that Steel is super effective against. Ice Fang or a comparable Dragon-type move would greatly benefit you there.
