Metagross

[SET]
Name: Dual Screens
Move 1: Reflect
Move 2: Light Screen
Move 3: Meteor Mash
Move 4: ThunderPunch/Earthquake/Explosion

Item: Light Clay
Nature: Impish/Adamant
EVs: 252 HP/100 Def/156 Atk

[SET COMMENTS]
- Naturally has a big Defense combined with nice HP and Special Defense stat
- Provides great support to team and even for itself
- Very nice Defense with Impish (353), while with Adamant 379 Attack
- Wonderfully ruins late-game sweepers attemps to final KOs.
- Meteor Mash as a main STAB attack works perfectly for some KOs
- Earthquake provides coverage for Fire-type Pokemon, while Thunderpunch is needed to kill Gyarados
- Light Clay is preferred for longer duration of screens, but you can use Leftovers for more recovery

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
- Alternative offensive EV spread can be used if you want to leave Metagross to do some huge damage to opponent, while taking hits easily
- Toxic can be also used as a supporting move, but it's not a perfect idea

To Flashrider: Yes, I have tested it. I worked very nicely.

I think Explosion should be at least slashed in the last slot, so you can go to a set-up sweeper right away after you set up dual screens.

I think you mean "Earthquake provides coverage for Fire-type Pokemon".

I can see this set working personally. To the above poster Metagross has a lot more firepower. My only question is what do the Evs acomplish?

I have actually been thinking about this for a long while now, but you beat me to the punch. I have thought about why use over Bronzong, and I keep coming back to MORE POWAHH. I have tried it with terrible team support but a NP Infernape and I actually beat a few teams and would have owned many others with adequate support. I like this set a lot.
Explode as a slash.

Thunderpunch? Why.....

To serve as a pseudo-Gyarados check? I mean, it's an auxiliary option, but it's just a bit...random. On one hand, Agiligross today run Thunderpunch, which would make Gyrados' switching or staying into it a bit questionable. On the other, Metagross hates taking fire-type moves in general, so running Earthquake would probably put it in an dead man's position unless Metagross actually has the appropiate screen up, I think.

That's correct. Through the initial Quality Control sweep we decided to remove Metagross's DS set, and relegate it to OC. IMO, that's where it should stay -- I see no reason to say otherwise. Locking this for the time being.
