I would say to try and PM Albinoloon? No one has really been around here until recently so I am not sure what their status is.

EDIT: If you look back a page or two there is a number of concepts from Energy Storm and Albinoloon that you could work on if you want!

I got a message from Tyshea a couple months ago and they said that they have been extremely busy with their senior year of college and that while they may submit some concepts that we should not really count on them. I will let you know if they send me anything but I wouldn't count on it.

Damn! Look at the monster!!!! :) That guy is epic! We could use Doran's as the juvenile and this as the adult! Would you want to play with Dorans a bit so they go together better and so its got some flames?

Just as a note since there is some activity again, I have updated the encyclopedia. We actually have a good number of categories either done or one sprite away! Get excited people!

EDIT: Oh! Also! Since this project is getting close to done here on smogon I was hoping you guys could start PMing me with the names you would like to be credited under in the game. When you do this I would also appreciate it if you would list the sprites that you have created that are currently on the encyclopedia. I want to make sure everyone gets credit so being able to check sprites off my list will help me make sure everyone who had sprites accepted gets their due credit. Thanks everyone!

Here's a very basic outline for what will eventually be an atomic gorilla. Just trying to get something down for a basic pose.

What do you guys think? When put next the other sprites, it doesn't look as large and intimidating. I want it to look large and in your face, basically as wild and unstable as possible. But the pose right now still makes it look kind of small. Can you guys recommend something else?
 
Looks nice, but a bit too "scratchy" at that. Remember that at the end, the outline can be at most 1 pixel wide and no more. The sprite itself looks quite nice, though.

Oh, and Jon, if it isn't too much, can you make an encyclopedia for the overworld sprites too? It would be nice to see what was done and what wasn't.

I think that pose will be great once its fleshed out!

If you are worried about size... It will be difficult to address with this pose... you would have to make the body larger to fill the frame. It will be hard with an action pose though...

I WOULD work on this, but, unfortunately, I cannot do scratch sprites for shit. However, I CAN do Pixel-overs of Concept Art and the like. So if there is a concept art that you would like the pose to be the same in the sprite, feel free to ask me to do it. I can also do some overworld artwork if you'd like.

Yeah I know it's a bit scratchy. I was just trying to get a basic pose down, which is kinda getting hard for a monster of this mass.

We do not generally get alot of that kind of concept art submitted but if you see any you are welcome to work on it.

Sounds good! He was just trying to make sure you knew that thatw ouldnt work for the final version. Feel free to work anywayt hat works for you! :)

How's this? I was messing around with the basic shape of the "atomic gorilla" and ended up with this weird atomic bird ghost thing. I'm cool with it right now, but I have a feeling that it's not "animal" enough for this project. Please let me know so that I may change it to your liking!

Hey everyone! I have a special project for you all!

We actually have a 10th type category of creatures that we have yet to tell anybody about; the Epic type. This type contains only 3 creatures and has special circumstances and restrictions. Each creature is the protector of a certain realm (Land, Air, & Sea) and they are, as the type's name might suggest, the most EPIC of all the creatures in the game. The Epic type is weak to no other type and their sprites are allowed a much larger space to work with (200x200 px). They are massive and should be AWESOME looking.

Here are the concepts for each of the 3 Epic creatures:

LAND: Sandworm
AIR: Dragon
SEA: Crocodile/alligator

(I have attached some links to potential reference images. Don't feel restricted to these concepts but I include them just because they are awesome and something along these lines would be cool.)

Again, these are just things to kind of get you started. We want them to be as AWESOME & EPIC as humanly possible. We obviously do not own any of these concepts so do not copy them exactly but use them as a concept launching pad and make them your own creations.
