This is a Gen 4 team. Apologies for forgetting to say that in the title.
Before I get to the team, I would just like to make a couple of notes for those rating. First of all, I eventually plan to get this team in wifi and breed all the pokes myself, so no legendaries please. Also, since this is my first RMT, please excuse any noobie mistakes.
The whole point of this team is to set up entry hazards and sandstorm to force switches and grind down opposing pokes, then to set up a sub/seed Breloom sweep. This is currently the fifth revision, so without further ado, the team:
Changes in red.
The lead:
Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 152 Def / 104 SpD
Nature: Impish
- Earthquake
- Roar
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
Nothing significant, just Smogon's standard defensive Hippowdon. Gets SR up reliably, and then proceeds to Roar to scout and rack up Sandstorm damage. EQ for stab against targets that I can take out, and Slack Off for recovery. Has a little bit of trouble with Taunt leads, but he's a beast at setting up Sandstorm and SR. Also, it's easy to switch back to him later to soak any physical hits, along with Skarm.
The Physical Wall:
Skarmory @ Shed Shell
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Nature: Impish
- Spikes
- Whirlwind
- Roost
- Brave Bird
The good old standard physical wall Skarm. Shed Shell to escape Magnet Pull, although I haven't been utilising it much of late. Standard EV spread and nature for bulk. Likes to switch in on physical attacks and put up Spikes, the Whirlwind to rack up plenty of residual damage. Roost for recovery and Brave Bird for stab.
The Special Wall
Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Spe
Nature: Bold
- Wish
- Softboiled
- Toxic
- Flamethrower
Wish to keep the rest of my team healthy, Softboiled if Bliss needs HP now, Toxic to spread poison and Flamethrower to hit those pesky steels, since my team completely lacks fire.
The Misfit (that fits a little better now)
Machamp @ Leftovers
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 128 HP / 252 Atk / 128 Spe
Nature: Adamant
- Substitute
- Dynamicpunch
- Stone Edge
- Payback
This slot originally was a Toxicstall Flygon, but i was way too weak to Starmie. Then i switched to Weavile, who filled a niche as anti-Gengar but didn't really fit with the theme of the team. With sub Machamp, i can take on Gengar (providing i have a sub up) as well as clearing many other threats with its amazing coverage. Also, with Bliss providing Wish support I don't need to run a recovery move.
The Spinner
Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
- Surf
- Thunderbolt
- Rapid Spin
- Recover
Used to be a LO sweeper, switched to Rapid Spin and added more bulk.
The Star of the Show:
Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 236 HP / 252 Def / 20 Spe
Nature: Impish
- Substitute
- Spore
- Focus Punch
- Leech Seed
Like him or hate him, SubSeed Breloom will tear you apart. Once the other team has been whittled away by entry hazards and sandstorm, I bring him out on a poke that i have a favorable matchup against. Sub, Spore on the switch, and that's all she wrote. Leech Seed, when used, brings Breloom's recovery up to a crazy level, and lets me Sub all i want while the other poke is destroyed by poison, sandstorm, or Focus Punch.
So there's my team, I've tested it on Shoddy and have a pretty good record, but I've reached as far as my limited knowledge will take is, so now I leave it up to you to help me improve it. Thanks in advance!
