#249 Lugia [Calm]
IVs: 31 / 23 / 8 / 16 / 26 / 1
Stats at Lv.100: 353/ 187/ 273/ 201/ 372/ 226
^This any good for trade?
Calm Lugia with IVs for special wall.

Followed the link to the IV thing in OP, invalid on my side.

Not really. People tend to trade for flawless breeds. But try over in the Wifi forum, that is where all the traders stay.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but... I'm going to be getting SoulSilver soon (I'm so late, I know!) and I'm wondering if there's an in-game tier list thread for it, similar to the B/W one in uncharted territory? I've had a look but not found anything, but I could have missed it.

Any help is much appreciated!

jesus h christ guys...

How do I check my friends code in SS to share it and play online battles?

Go down the escalator at a Pokemon Center and a lady will talk to you and give you a Pal Pad. You can then check the Pal Pad and it will say your name and Friend Code but you have to have a Wi-Fi connection to see it.

This will only work if you have defeated Falkner.

Would like some help with a doubles rain team I've been working on for a while. Right now I have:
  • Toxicroak (sets up rain, isn't too useful otherwise)
  • Kabutops (physical sweeper)
  • Ludicolo (special sweeper, has Leech Seed because Leech Seed is awesome)
  • Raikou (newest member, shiny event one. Weather Ball and Thunder)
My main problem (other than being incomplete) is that Toxicroak isn't the greatest rain starter. Fast Psychics screw me over from the start. I need something either faster, sturdier or both. Also, there's a pretty big Ground weakness. Ideas please?

Would prefer to keep things BL (thanks to Raikou) at highest.

When using a rain team, you need to be 99.9% sure that you'll set up the rain every time, or you're just using a bunch of Pokemon with shared weaknesses and similar type coverage for no reason. Ludicolo and Toxicroak are typically used together, and for good reason: Ludicolo has pretty good bulk, can set up the rain, and can outspeed almost everything and smash face with Surf once the rain is set up, while Toxicroak can use Fake Out to flinch anything that might be threatening to Ludicolo (except Inner Focus users).

People don't just use OU Pokemon like Zapdos and Kingdra on rain teams because of their high base stat totals; they provide valuable resistances to the other members' common weaknesses, and they have enough bulk to switch in when they need to. Kabutops is the weak link here; the biggest reason to use rain teams is the ridiculous sweeping power of using two rain-boosted Surfs at once (or smashing your opponents with Surf while healing your own Water Absorb Pokemon), and Kabutops's poor bulk and unreliable secondary STAB don't make up for its inability to help that strategy. I'm not sure what to recommend if you're refusing to use Starmie, Suicune, Zapdos, Kingdra, and Empoleon; you could use Gorebyss for its power, but it only has a 2x resistance to Water (meaning you'll often kill it with Ludicolo's Surf; it's pretty poor in terms of Special Defense) and its pure-Water typing doesn't really provide much to your two leads, even if it does more than Kabutops' Water/Rock. As insane as it sounds, Lapras could work; it has decent bulk (ignoring its Rock and Fighting weaknesses, but the BL restriction doesn't offer much that resists those while making good use of the rain), has Water Absorb, and can make good use of Surf, Thunder, and Ice Beam. Of course, it's very slow, but you take what you can get. That gets rid of one of your Ground weaknesses, and without being able to use Zapdos (whose Ground immunity is one of its main selling points on Rain teams), that's about the best I can come up with. You'll appreciate Ludicolo's Ground resistance, at least, and hopefully you'll outspeed and quickly KO most Earthquake users.

Just a quick question; if you've lost track of how many evs you've given to a specific stat, and you are not at 510 yet, is there a way to check how many you have? I have a rough idea of how many I have, but I really don't want to mess up, I don't have all of the berries yet to go and fix my mistakes.
Many thanks for any and all help. ^^

You can if you know the IVs, in which case basically any IV calculator will be able to tell you. If not, then you will have to hack it in some way, by using Action Replay or Pokesav or some such.

Athenodoros- Is there a way to find out IVs? (please forgive me for not knowing this, I've only recently discovered that this stuff even existed ><).

I should point out though that in order to find them you need to know what EVs your Pokemon has, so it is a bit of a catch-22. And don't worry, everyone is new at some point.

Texas Cloverleaf & Athenodoros- Thank you both very much for your help.
Athenodoros- So more or less I'm out of luck and might as well erase all the speed evs I've done so far?
