2. Its_A_Random's Kangaskan

Skwog, get a Kangaskhan
-from your Pokewalker *

-If it has Early Bird, have it solo Morty & when it learns a new move, it must replace the oldest move it knows. *
-Must be the lowest leveled Pokemon in your party at all times ~
-It must solo an E4 member of your choice on the first go, failure to do so will result in it losing a moveslot permanently

3. loudkirbyking's Sunkern

`This Sunkern wants to be like the TCG one, so it must know the following moves:

Sunkern in TCG:
Cure Kernels: Synthesis/Rest/Ingrain
Seed Bomb: Seed Bomb/Worry Seed(To be nice, so you don't have to grind a lot)
Sunflora in TCG:
Sunshine Grace: Sunny Day
Blade Arms: Razor Leaf/Pound/Cut

-As a Sunkern it must have all four of these categories before evolving.
Nickname it "PokemonTCG"

4. Dark Ray's Geodude

@skwog, you want hard?
-Catch a geodude, name it "Rock Hard" *
-It may not use any physical stab moves ~
-To evolve into a graveler it must solo 3 gym leader pokemon. *
-Cannot evolve into Golem.
-Lastly, it must explode against 2 of reds pokemon (hint, bring revives).
Good luck.

5. ObsidianRanger's Magikarp

@Skwog, take a male Gyarados called Horace. Horace was always a bit of a whimp, so as a Magikarp he never attacked anyone. To evolve Horace has to have survived 3 turns with a higher level pokemon in battle. As a Gyarados, Horace became vicious, losing all fear he had before. As a result, Horace only used psychical attacking moves and never ever fled or switched out of a battle, not wanting to turn his back on an enemy or let them take advantage of his, as a result, every time Horace faints as a Gyarados, he must defeat 15 Pokemon with only his lowest power move (after calculating STAB), before he can use any of his other moves. If more than one move has the same power, he must use the one which is least effective, if they are the same, then he can use either.

Recap
As a Magikarp:
-Can't attacks (lol@Tackle) *
-Must survive 3 turns in battle with a higher level Poke to evolve *
As a Gyarados:
-Can only use physical moves ~
-Can't switch out or run away ~
-Every time he faints, he must defeat 15 Pokemon with only his lowest power move (after calculating STAB) before he can use any of his other moves. ~

6. Vratix's Growlithe

@Skwog
-Bring a Growlithe named Yips.*
-The only fire attack it may know is ember*
-Must KO two pokemon belonging to the Elite 4 with Ember.

Switched it back to Growlithe as it originally was. I put one of my Kangaskhans on the GTS and got a Growlithe, so I'll breed it and use its baby.

Summary of Events:

Sixth Badge:

A few hours of grinding and lots of Voltorb Flip games the get Swords Dance and FluffStar was at a decent enough level to take on Jasmine as part of her challenge.
This was probably the most frustrating battle I have had in a very long time (in-game, that is.) I gave FluffStar a Quick Claw knowing she would be paralyzed and needed to get the occasional hax and go first. Problem is, I would typically get parahax on the same turn I would get the Quick Claw boost.
After about ten or so tries I finally managed to beat Jasmine with a few lucky crit +6 razor leafs.

Seventh Badge:

Lots of boring stuff. Went to Lake of Rage, grinded up Horace and Rock Hard for a bit. Blah blah blah. Went into the Lake, used Duranga to weaken the Red Gyarados, then switched to FluffStar and she attracted the serpent so I could safely chuck some Net Balls at the thing. Caught it, talked to Lance.

Went to the Rocket Base in Mahogany and used Horace to easily deal with the Rocket Grunts. When in the double battle with Lance and the Rocket executive, I thought it would be nifty to see what would happen if I faint his Dragonite. Turns out that thing is a tank, and I couldn't kill it before it killed all the other Pokes.

Proceeded to enter the gym and swept through the gym trainers with Horace. When it came to battling Pryce, I lead off with Horace to kill the Seel, then used FluffStar to kill Dewgong, and finally killed Piloswine with a combination of the two of them.

I'm dealing with Team Rocket in Goldenrod right now. Mainly using Rock Hard to help get him up a few levels. The battle with Petrel was a pain since I don't have any decent attackers against defensive Poison types. Just entered the basement and battled my rival. Nothing too exciting. This part of the game has always been boring to me. The story is great, but I don't particularly care for constant battling. I'll finish this up in a bit though and proceed to grind up FluffStar some more so she can solo Claire.

How's the sunkern going? I've always wanted to train one but I'm aware it has the worst base stats in the game (don't know about 5th generation). Is it proving very handy?

@Obsidian

Sunkern is probably the least useful member on the team. It is really overshadowed by FluffStar. Grass isn't a great offensive type to begin with ingame in HG/SS, so it's really crippling to Sunkern to have another grass type on the team. The only battle it has been in was against Petrel, and that was for fodder so I could use an antidote on Horace :P

My Black Version Solo Scramble will commence once I get the games March 6; remember that "Shelly" the Oshawott is my solo runner; aside from Water Gun, Surf, and status moves (like Swords Dance), the only moves used are physical.

Doing a minor update on my SoulSilver Scramble, mainly because this thread is somewhat dead and needs some life.

Not too much has happened. Finished up beating Team Rocket in Goldenrod. They were relatively easy to deal with. Horace swept through them with ease, and he learned Aqua Tail which helped loads. Yips is holding the Exp. Share so I can boost up his level a bit.

After beating Team Rocket, I ventured through the Ice Path. Got HM07, taught Horace Waterfall in place of Aqua Tail because it has more accuaracy and PP. Made it to Blackthorn, and now I'm done for the day. Tomorrow I'll spend some time grinding up FluffStar until she gets Body Slam. That way Claire will be somewhat easier to solo. We'll see what happens :)

After many a failed nuzlocke, I am going to try a scramble for the first time. I'm open to most suggestions, but here are the requirements:
-HeartGold Version
-Acess to trade
-No acess to Pokewalker
-Two Pokemon by Bugsy
-Five Pokemon by 1st Elite Four
-No Shitmons ie; Magikarp, Combee
-All else is fair game! Please do make this challenging!

I might try to post how this goes some. First I need a team!

Samurai 796, Start with Silence the Totodile. This Totodile does not like speaking at all, therefore you must SR for a Quiet nature & it may never use any moves that require the use of its mouth. Such moves include Water Gun, Bite, Ice Fang, Crunch, Screech, Hydro Pump, Water Pulse, Roar, Ice Beam, Hyper Beam, Dragon Pulse, Sleep Talk, Swagger, Hydro Cannon, Icy Wind, Snore, & Uproar.

Have fun.

@Samurai 796, trade over a pikachu named "MB Sucks!". It may never evolve, it may never hold a light ball and the only non-stab move it can use is brick break (teach it brick break before you trade it or trade over the tm if you want it). The last requirement depends on whether or not this is a scramblocke (scramble+nuzlocke, I ask because you put HG nuzlocke in the rules), if it is you have no other restrictions, but if it isn't solo chuck and any kanto gym leader.
Good luck.

@samurai you get ANDROID17 the Koffing. Android 17 was made by Dr. Gero but soon lived a life of destruction after finding that emotions are a waste. So After you catch it it must know 3 attacking moves as soon as possible (Selfdestruct being one of them) and must fight in every gym.

Later, his sister 18 falls in love with krillin so at level 30 it starts living a life of peace so delete selfdestruct and one more attacking move and it can't fight in any major battles anymore.

but then it gets controlled by the evil Dr.Gero and Dr.Myuu using Hell's 17. By level 40 (must be after 7th gym) Make it learn all attacking moves and evolve to weezing.

Tell me if there's something inconsistent

@SAMURAI
I MEANT SAMURAI

Bring Bee the female Sudowudo. She must solo any gym leader that Android17 does not participate for (e.g. Pryce would be easiest) and also solo Lieutenant Surge. She may never use the same move twice in a row and she may not have more than one move of any one type.

On an unrelated note. If anyone feels like giving me the last pokemon for my Black version Scramblocke, that would be great.

Challenging implies hard but not crazy. So... you get two choices. Choose BEFORE the challenge. No switching!

1. Take a no-evolution Paras.

2. Take a Dratini that cannot learn Superpower, Draco Meteor, Flamethrower, Roost, Thunderbolt, Dragon Dance, Dragon Claw, Outrage, Earthquake, Fire Blast, Extremespeed, Heal Bell, Thunder Wave, Toxic, Waterfall, or Fire Punch and solo two consecutive Gym Leader Pokemon without items that are at least ten levels higher than it.

@Vratix

For your Black Scramblocke you get a personal favorite new pokemon of mine, Vullaby. Name it PukeFace. It must be evolved by the Elite Four. In the Elite Four, it must solo one of Shauntal's (Ghost) and Caitlin's (Psychic) pokemon. Which pokemon is up to you. Other than that, the moves and nature are up to you. Have fun!

@Samurai

You get BlackOps the Spinarak.
As his name implies, he loves to play Call of Duty, and is convinced that he is a soldier. He stays up all night playing the game, and is an Insomniac. He is obsessed with the guns he kills imaginary people with. As such, he can only use "shooting" moves, as well as "black" moves, since he's rugged and loves the dark.
To evolve he must solo Morty using only Shadow Sneak and/or Sucker Punch.
To be able to use any moves, he must solo all of Karen's Pokemon except her Houndoom.

Here's a list of the moves he can use:
Poison Sting, String Shot, Leech Life, Night Shade, Shadow Sneak, Sucker Punch, Pin Missile, Dig (hey, it's dark down in those holes), Sludge Bomb, Thief.

Just posting to remind people about SPL 2, those that haven't completed their matches, you have just under 4 days to do so. You know what to do when you complete your matches. Just get them done. 2 matches have been completed.

In other news, just so this isn't a pointless post, I'm still grinding for my Pearl No-Evo Scramble, Larolla's being a pain in the arse to level up, so is Stortamus, the rest have reached their desired levels. Nearly there. I'll post the team once I've completed grinding. I've also cleared the first postgame dungeon for Part 2 of my PMD Red Scramble, I still have 5 members to recruit, & I've evolved Iceberg & Trunkie to Fearow & Donphan respectively.

tl;dr: 4 days till deadline for Round 6 of SPL 2, & random minor updates for 2 of my current scrambles.

Cheers!
Its_A_Random

In an attempt to revive this thread, I'm posting a minor update to my Emerald Scramble. Slavic the Hariyama soloed Wattson's Manectric with Rock Smash, fulfilling his requirement. Firefly the Torchic/Combusken soloed Brawly and Flannery (Rock Tomb ftw), completing his requirement. Ninja the Gardevoir is an absolute beast, and Nautilus the Marill enjoys killing everything with Defense Curl + Rollout. Slavic was my MVP against Norman, OHKOing Spinda, Linoone, and Vigoroth with Vital Throw. I just arrived in Fortree City, so my next stop is the Safari Zone to catch me a Doduo!

Extremely Summarized Team Summary:

Firefly the Combusken (M)
Lv. 34
~Peck
~Rock Tomb
~Ember
~Quick Attack

Ninja the Gardevoir (F)
Lv. 34
~Calm Mind
~Double Team
~Confusion
~Psychic

Nautilus the Azumarill (M)
Lv. 34
~Defense Curl
~Rollout
~Bubblebeam
~...too lazy to check. I never use whatever it is, anyway. Probably Tail Whip.

Slavic the Hariyama (M)
Lv. 34
~Surf
~Strength
~Rock Smash
~Vital Throw

Other Pokemon I Own: Nincada, Wynaut, Tropius, Castform

Nice Update Dummy, I'm interested to see how it will finish!

Also...
@Iggdrasil, Texas, Atheno & Dexington: Can I have a situation report on your matches please, I need to know so I know whether to give an extension or not. Deadline for Round 6 of SPL 2 is in 2 days, 20 hours & 15 minutes. Thank you in advance.

And...Still grinding on my Pearl No Evo Scramble, which is taking forever to finish, especially considering the fact that Larolla & Stortamus are taking FOREVER to raise...

tl;dr: I like Dummy's update, I want situation reports on the unfinished matches for Round 6 of SPL 2, & the grind continues...

EDIT: Dexington hasn't been online since 30 minutes after I posted Round 6...

Another minor update in an attempt to keep this thread alive.

Just finished up the last gym last night. Successfully solo'd Clair with FluffStar. Wasn't too hard. I just spammed Swords Dance until I was at +6, healed up, then swept with Strength.

Now doing a little bit of grinding. I think I have to battle Lugia next? I don't know. I haven't played through SoulSilver since I first bought it haha. Sad, right?
I'll let you guys know when I get remotely close to the Elite 4.

Bad news guys. I`ve just learned I no longer have the capability to trade between my 3rd gen games and since all my EV`d mons are on my FR file I`m not resetting it. So, the Payback will now be conducted on LG. Howerver, this means that I cant do the Growlithe challenge anymore. So I need someone to go back through my posts and give me another challenge for my Variable challenge, but in LeafGreen. Help.

@Texas: Take a Magmar.

+Attack: Physical attcks only.
+Defence: Must learn and keep Smog, Sunny Day, and Confuse Ray/Smokescreen.
+Sp. Attack: May only learn moves via TMs and HMs.
+Sp. Defence: Solo 50 Fire-types.
+Speed: Must learn and keep Double Team and MEGAH PAWNCH!!! (Must be called that during updates)
+Nothing: No restrictions yet.

Male: Solo your Rival battle before the E4.
Female: Solo your Rival's Starter in the battle before the E4.

If the next Pokemon that appears after it is a...:

(These'll come soon, my Dad just kicked me off the computer -_-...)

@texas, it appears iggy didn't read your post so if you'll allow it i'll give you another pokemon for your payback scramble.
Hydrattler take a Staryu that must learn rapid spin and Hydro Pump before evolving.

Where do you get Wingull in platinum?

P.S. wasn't this payback scramble originally for LG?

Fourth Update!!

My Fourth Update, my adventure between Cerulean and Vermillion, and preparing for the S.S. Anne.

Sprout the Oddish: Find on Route 5. Must always know 2 TM moves and 2 Lv.Up moves.
Can't evolve to Vileplume till I have 5 badges.
Phora the Nidoqueen: Find on Route 3. Can only learn STAB and non-damaging moves. (Woot, Poison Ground Combo!!)
Variable Eevee: Evolution determined to be Flareon.
Must know Flamethrower, Substitute, Toxic, Tail Whip.
To get TMs from Game Corner. Must find coins on ground or be given them or win them from slots. If I run out, allowed to buy 50 Coins and start again.
Must Solo 2 of Sabrina's Pokemon consecutively with no items. I'm then allowed to replace Tail Whip with whatever.
Gold the Zubat: Must max out happiness to evolve to Golbat. As Zubat, cannot use Poison, Dark, or Ghost moves. (there goes the early movepool)
When it evolves, must learn Frustration, and 2 Poison, Dark or Ghost moves.
Solo Koga's Gym and one of Lance's Dragonites.
Seadra the Seadra: Need Good Rod. Cannot learn: Hydro Pump, Surf, Blizzard, Smokescreen, or Mimic.
Must Solo Rival's Grass-type (Bulbasaur line) every time met.
Cannot fight Blaine.
No items in Battle.
Hammer Bro the Squirtle: Must learn Brick Break, Rapid Spin, Ice Beam, and Surf.
Must Solo Blaine.
After Blaine, replace Rapid Spin with Rest, and cannot attack until damage is taken.

After beating the Gym and healing, I immediately went and fought the "innocent bystander" Rocket Grunt.
Beat him with Hammer Bro. Gold participated, but got hit by a crit from his Drowzee's Confusion.
Got the Dig TM which I'm saving for Phora.
Caught Sprout the Oddish on Route 5, immediately taught him Bullet Seed and Secret Power to meet his requirements.
Got MS. NIDO the Nidoran (female) from the trade on the entrance to the Underground Tunnel.
Got a free TinyMushroom from the trade as well!
Made my way into Vermillion City, then went back and creamed the trainers I skipped to get there.
MISSED 5 TIMES AGAINST A FRIGGIN TRAINERS PIDGEY AFTER 1 SAND-ATTACK!! (I see why we have an Evasion Clause)
Battled a kid with a Squirtle! Owned him with Sprout.
After reentering Vermillion City, traded for CH'DING the Farfetch'd, who has a +Atk Nature which = Flareon.
Got the Bike Voucher from the Chairman of Pokemon Fan Club. (does anyone else think he's crazy?)
Beat all the trainers on Route 11 in preperation for the S.S. Anne.

Spr_3f_041.png

Gold the Zubat. Lv. 19
Nature: Naive
Moves: Leech Life
Astonish
Supersonic
Bite.

Getting tired of Leech Life as his only attack, but Supersonic is somewhat helping!
Seriously though, it's disheartening to see your opponent do more confusion damage to itself than the damage you do...
Current LVP!

Spr_3f_030.png

MS. NIDO the Nidorina. Lv. 22
Nature: Bold.
Moves: Poison Sting
Tail Whip
Double Kick
Bite.

MS. NIDO is becoming integrated into my team, but still more or less in the same boat with Gold.
Poison Sting as a singular form of offense is difficult to deal with.
Thinking of evolving to Nidoqueen purely to let it learn and use Dig.

Spr_3f_043.png

Sprout the Oddish. Lv. 20
Nature: Hasty.
Moves: Secret Power
Bullet Seed
Sleep Powder
Absorb...

Sprout is showing himself to be an excellent member of my team, he grew up quick and Secret Power is working wonders for him.
Sleep Powder is also good, with Bullet Seed mostly as backup in case the opponent is weak to Grass. Actually might be a contender for MVP down the road.

Spr_3f_008.png

Hammer Bro the Wartortle. Lv. 23
Nature: Calm.
Moves: Tackle
Water Pulse
Tail Whip
Bite

The MVP is still hanging on to his title. Water Pulse is doing very well with STAB and coming from his higher SpA.
Not being used as much, but he still is able to come and take out stuff. The first part of his required moveset is coming soon. (Brick Break)

Other Pokes (boxed)
CH'DING the Farfetch'd Lv. 20
Nature: Adamant.

He means I get a Flareon. Good thing it wasn't Vaporeon, I would've liked Jolteon as it helps patch up my Electric weakness, but Flareon will be the one to shine in the Sabrina Gym.

That's the extent of this update! Next up, the S.S. Anne and Digglet's Cave.

Round 7 of the SPL 2 is up. See who you're up against & make some predictions. Concerning incomplete matches fromm the previous round, Iggdrasil & Texas have been granted an extension, while Atheno has been awarded a 2-0 activity win over Dexington.

Cheers!

Heart Gold Scramble Update

Apologies for the double post, but for emphasis, I'm afraid I'll have to start a new one here. Anyways, the reason for dping is to say that I've updated my Heart Gold Scramble & posting the update here. Enjoy! Did this because I was bored with grinding on Pearl.
itsarandom1.png

Thank you Doran Dragon for this image.
  • 16.) Hoppip (4xTheFun): Must appear against 2 GLMP to evolve into Skiploom, & KO 2 GLMP to evolve into Jumpluff. Post-Chuck, must be no more than 2 levels below highest levelled Pokemon & must KO at least one Pokemon on each of the E4 member's teams (Vratix)
  • 1.) Variable (Dexington)--> Furret (Dexington): Must know & keep Attract, Me First, & Surf/Whirlpool & use Me First against one of Lance's Dragonites (Dexington)
  • 10.) Haunter: Must solo every Haunter I see, including Morty's Haunters. May only use moves with a base power below 80 (DetroitLolcat)
  • 19.) Phanpy (Trunkie): Only attacking move is Rollout, must solo either Erika or Misty to evolve (Its_A_Random) (Dropped)
  • 5.) Starmie (Valence): If kept below Lv40 against E4, must have Surf & BoltBeam. Otherwise, must know Surf, but no BoltBeam (Treadshot A1)
  • 11.) Wooper (Yawn): If ability is Damp, Must know & keep Yawn & Yawn 5 Pokemon to sleep to evolve. If ability is Water Absorb, must know & keep Yawn & Rest & Yawn 10 Pokemon to sleep to evolve (Edwin Illan)
  • 4.) Lapras: Must Solo 30 Gym Leader & E4 Pokemon combined before Blue, & may either be all Physical or all Special (Athenodoros)
Alright, time to deal with the Rocket (BAN ME PLEASE) in Goldenrod. After the early part, I come across the direc-sorry, no...Petrel, the king of explosions. After Troll took care of the first Koffing, Valence stepped in & took care of the rest, OHKOing the rest of his party except for Weezing who was 2HKOed & didn't do much in return.

After that, I go to the basement & encounter Idiot. Atheno took care of Golbat after a couple of Ice Shards, Yawn dealt with Magnemite with a Mud Shot, Troll got the mandatory solo against Haunter quite convincingly, Dexington was killed by Sneasel, but was revenged by Atheno, & 4xTheFun took care of Feraligatr with the Sleep-Sub-Seed strategy, although a Sleep Powder miss on the first turn almost resulted in 4xTheFun being OHKOed by Ice Fang.

Following that, I go through, rescue the real Director & go back to the Radio Tower to do the final battles. Proton was first, & he was easy. Atheno killed Golbat, despite some issues with confusion, & then Weezing was dealt with in similar fashion, minus the confusion issues. Ariana was next & she was tougher. Arbok paralysed Atheno, but was killed after a couple of Body Slams, then Valence came in & things were tougher, Vileplume survived an Ice Beam to Sleep Valence, & after an Awakening was used, valence was almost dead, but it then KOed with the next Ice Beam. Murkrow was last & Valence easily OHKOed with Thunderbolt.

Last was Archer. Troll came in for Houndour & was swiftly switched out for Atheno, who got burned. Atheno then OHKOed with Water Pulse. Yawn came in for Houndoom & survived 2 Faint Attacks to 2HKO with Mud Shot. Valence then cleaned up 2HKOing Koffing with Surf, only taking a Smokescreen.

After that, the Rocket (BAN ME PLEASE) left Goldenrod & I got a Rainbow Wing for my troubles. In Goldenrod at the moment.

Valence (Genderless Starmie) @ Nothing
Lv:29/Hardy/Natural Cure
-Surf
-Thunderbolt
-Recover
-Ice Beam
Comments: Easily the squad's most powerful member, but cannot be relied on for the sake of keeping BoltBeam...Anyways, did do a cameo against the Elite Rockets, including KOing 5 of Petrels Pokemon, it isn't used much, but its raw power is the reason why it is valuable.
