(Archive) Small Objective Changes Thread

okay really sorry for the triple post but another thing from duskull

"Shadow Sneak helps revenge kill things such as Gastly"

http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/duskull in the first set
Is the author giving examples of "things" or was this supposed to be "similar to." I'm pretty sure the author originally used "like" here and someone changed it to "such as" by mistake.

http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/remoraid

With the right support, Remoraid makes an excellent physical sweeper, despite its lack of priority moves. Waterfall hits any Pokemon who doesn’t resist it incredibly hard anything, Seed Bomb hits opposing Water-types, Return smacks Water Absorbers for neutral damage, and Water Spout bluffs a specially based set.

last sentence of physical attacker set before additional comments

For defensive partners, defensive Gligar and Munchlax should suffice, as they handle a number of threats to Remoraid. Gligar not only checks threats, but also has Stealth Rock in its arsenal to help Remoraid sweep more easily. Munchlax can comfortably check many specially inclined Water Absorb threats, such as Mantyke.

first paragraph of team options

they're supposed to have hyphens

http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/tyranitar
The last paragraph under "Counters" says
Since the most common variants of Tyranitar are Choiced, it's easy to set up on its attacks with Pokemon that resist its STABs. Lucario has the advantage of being able to switch into both Stone Edge and Crunch with a 4x resistance, taking minimal damage despite its frailty. However, ExtremeSpeed variants of Lucario should be wary, as even though Tyranitar may be setup fodder, it can later come in and revenge kill Lucario, who cannot respond due to Tyranitar's resistance to Normal-type attacks. However, Bullet Punch and Agility variants need not fear Tyranitar's return, as they are more than capable of eliminating a Scarfed Tyranitar.
Instead of "ExtremeSpeed variants" it should say something along the lines of "variants lacking Bullet Punch or Agility", as SD Lucario can (and often does) run double priority with ExtremeSpeed and Bullet Punch.

On a separate note, why should we not edit our post?

fixed the above

you shouldn't edit your posts here because if we fix something and then you go back and edit other stuff in it's liable to get overlooked

Same article as above: http://www.smogon.com/smog/issue14/featured_pokemon

Offensively, the Trick Room variant of Reuniclus benefits significantly from entry hazard support, as it not only needs to be able to kill things as quickly as possible, but Trick Room also promotes constant defensive switching, which allows Spikes to do significant damage.

Clunky sentence in my opinion ... I'd rewrite to "offensively, the Trick Room variant of Reuniclus benefits significantly from entry hazard support, as not only does it need to be able to kill things as quickly as possible, but Trick Room also promotes constant defensive switching, which allows Spikes what about Stealth Rock? to do significant damage.

Also I think it's rather weird that Reuniclus is "undersped" by Escavalier when Escavalier is running -ve speed, but it's not mentioned earlier in the article when it claims that Reuniclus is "undersped" only by Ferrothorn.

fixed botw and trivia but not that featured mons comma one cos i disagree with it

fixed the clunky wording in featured mons too

but not the escavalier thing cos -spe escavalier is basically not seen when compared to ferrothorn and just mentioning ferrothorn is good enough

Smog issue #14, type analysis: http://www.smogon.com/smog/issue14/type_analysis

There aren't really any awesome new defensive behemoths in Generation 5, but there's one Pokemon that definitely benefited from the generation gap- Gliscor.

Should have an extra space.

EDIT: OK, breaking rule not to edit here, but it's not something new, so ... @above, I know nothing about the 5th gen metagame, but if the article mentions Ferrothorn and Ferrothron only first, and then later goes on to mention Escavalier, then it feels rather contradictory to me.

Smog #14: http://www.smogon.com/smog/issue14/uwabilities

However, Megahorn will still dent them hard. Megahorn is Escavalier's spam attack; if you don't know what to do, then press the Megahorn key. Iron Head is there because Shubarugo's movepool is kinda limited (I wish Mach Punch or Sucker Punch was there...), but it's still a decent secondary STAB attack.

Once again I know nothing about 5th gen, but I'm pretty confident that Shubarugo is Escavalier. Later in the article there's a mention of Shandera as well, which is almost certainly a different name for Chandelure.

Thanks Banedon! Your suggestions make a lot of sense. I'm not sure about the "..." change though, so I'll see if anyone else wants to make that change or not.
