Metagross is an amazing lead(even with team preview) and can get up stealth rock most of the time. Metagross is bulky enough to get up Stealth Rock, take out the opposing lead, and beat other leads with bullet punch such as Azelf.Although I didn’t make Metagross a star player, I gave it Starmie. Starmie beats leads such as Infernape who give Metagross trouble.

Natural Cure
Starmie is a great special sweeper on the team, but also spins away entry hazards. Starmie can come in on Toxic Spikes and spin them away while being able to easily get rid of it’s poisoning by switching out and activating Natural Cure. Hydro Pump can kill a lot of things such as Scizor with no SpD investment and 2HKO Forretress. Skarmory is 2HKO’d by Thunderbolt(Sturdy is like a Focus Sash now) and then Starmie can spin away. Starmie actually cleave away a big portion of opponent’ teams and is a reliable spinner.

Since my main core consists of Mahcamp and Jirachi, I needed something that could break down walls that might stop them. Hippowdon for example is immune to Jirachi’s Thunder Wave and can take Machamp’s attacks well, but Salamence’s Draco Meteor makes quick work of Hippowdon. Donphan, though not regulary seen in OU is annoying to Jirachi and is also taken out by Draco Meteor. Draco Meteor also takes out other physical walls such as Swampert. On it’s own, Salamence can actually pull off a sweep. It’s powerful Dragon STAB attacks can absolutely destory the opponent. I think you see why this is an offensive team so far, right?

Serene Grace
The first member of the core is Jirachi. Jirachi and Machamp creates a lot of annoyance for the opponent, but Machamp actually does massive damage regardless of confusion. Thanks to Thunder Wave, Machamp will outspeed a lot of it’s counters and kill them. Jirachi also loves Thunder Wave, since it’s Iron Head has a 60% chance of Flinching while paralysis has a 25% chance of making the opponent lose the turn. All together that means the opponent has a 85% chance of not moving. This not only lets my core sweep, but lets the rest of the team sweep and stops many sweepers in their tracks. Iron Head is obviously there for flinching things to death, while Fire Punch kills steels, and Rain Dance helps me win weather wars.

The second part of the core is Machamp. I know that in generation V you will always compare Machamp to Conkeldurr who has a naturally higher attack and defense stat, but just hear me out. Machamp has something Conkeldurr will never have, a 100% accurate Dynamic Punch. This is stronger than all of Conkeldurr’s attacks before a Bulk up and always confuses the opponent. This along with Thunder Wave makes Machamp a real pain in the butt. Dynamic Punch is the main attack here thanks to huge power and 100% chance of confusion, allowing Machamp to 2HKO many sweepers. With Thunder Wave up, Machamp outspeeds many flying types trying to outspeed him and KO back with Stone Edge. Overall, Machamp is the most powerful member of the team but is equally as important as Jirachi.

Terrakion is the fastest member of the team, with a blistering base 108 speed and a Choice Scarf he is a great revenge killer. Latias and Latios would get far on sweeping this team if, oh yeah Terrakion puts a stop to it instatntly! Garchomp annoying my team? Terrakion uses Close Combat to KO! Dragon Dance Salamence killing the team? Terrakion has Stone Edge! Alright, I think you get it. Terrakion was the perfect revenge killer for the team, he revenges almost every sweeping threat to the team. Terrakion is perfectly balanced with speed and attack, I really love this set!
