4th Gen Team: Peak at 9

This is the 4th gen team that peaked at 9 on TeamUber ladder, and got me way past everyone else on Experts.

Still needs help tho.

Spiritomb
@: Lum Berry
Quiet
252 SpA/252 HP/4 Atk
~Shadow Ball
~Shadow Sneak
~Will-o-wisp
~HP Fighting

Tomb. This thing is crazy. Tomb almost always kills something, with its powerful Shadow Ball + Sneak combo. Most people immediately Taunt Spiritomb the instant they see it, predicting Hypnosis? IDK. Anyways, this set beats Machamp, Infernape, Azelf, Aero, Metagross (sometimes), Roserade (sometimes), and more. It is also a spinblocker. Shadow Ball is for that main attack, Sneak is for the late damage, WOW is for burning hude physical threats, and HP Fighting for frail things weak to it such as Lucario. This thing is beast.

Porygon2
Trace
@: Leftovers
Bold
252 HP/208 Def/40 SpA/8 SpD
~Toxic
~Discharge
~Ice Beam
~Recover

Why don't people use this more? NEways, P2 is here for countering...almost everything. Specifically, Heatran, Gyarados, Jolteon, certain Vaporeon, and just Discharging on things for paralysis. EVs are for surving a few key hits, and SpD is needed for the occasional special ttack you JUST live. Toxic is for crippling, Discharge is for that great hax effect of paralysis, Ice Beam is for dragons, and Recover is finally used for instant recovery.

Mesprit
@: Choice Band
Impish
252 HP/28 Atk/228 Def
~Fire Punch
~Zen Headbutt
~Stealth Rock
~Trick

No, I was not high when I made this team. I get voices sometimes, and they said Mesprit. So yeah, this is how it was made. Trickband works MUCH better than Trickscarf. So many times does it win a match because the thing I tricked isn't scarfed. EVs are to live Adamant CBscor's Uturn after SR damage. Fire Punch is for being the only fire move on this team, and for really just all around solid purposes. Zen Headbutt is STAB, and even with just 28 Attack, it can still hit OK with base 105 attack Choice Banded. Stealth Rock is for after the Trick, when its job is done. Trick is for crippling something or locking them onto a move.

Lucario
Steadfast(!)
@: Life Orb
Adamant
252 Atk/252 Spe/4 SpD
~Swords Dance
~Close Combat
~Crunch
~Extremespeed

Blah blah standard SD Luke. I originally had MixScarfCario (HP Electric/CC/Dark Pulse/Dragon Pulse) but I found this worked better. Pretty much, Trick a Band onto something with Mesprit, bring in Luke if you are immune/setup move, SD and sweep. Works pretty well. Swords Dance for setup, CC for insane damage, Crunch...well, Crunch hits Ghosts pretty hard, and ES for priority. Not really much so say, pretty standard.

Breloom
Poison Heal (!!)
@: Toxic Orb
Jolly
252 HP/252 Spe/4 Atk
~Spore
~Substitute
~Leech Seed
~Focus Punch

This thing. It dominates. Spore on the switch, Sub on the switch, proceed to Leech Seed with your whatever Speed, Poison Heal, and Leech Seed. Basically your normal SubSeed Loom, nothing too special.

Rotom-W
@: Choice Scarf
Timid
252 SpA/252 Spe/4 HP
~Hydro Pump
~Thunderbolt
~Shadow Ball
~Trick

Rotom-W provides a great amount of synergy with the rest of the team in its key resistances and fast Hydro Pump. With a Scarf attached, I outspeed everything unboosted. Hydro Pump provides coverage and helps my Infernape problem greatly. Thunderbolt get STAB and is needed to get a KO on certain things like Starmie (which also gives problems) and Gyarados after a DD. Shadow Ball is needed for STAB as well, and it is used for non-scarfed Ghosts. Trick is a last resort option to screw up a wall if Mesprit has not done so already, has fainted, or has already tricked.

Thanks.

The only thing I can see is that you're ridiculously Infernape weak. Lucario, Meagross, and Breloom all get destroyed by his fire move of choice, Porygon 2 gets killed by Close Combat, and most Infernape carry U-Turn, which would maim Mespirit. I also fail to see how Spiritomb checks Infernape, easily being 2HKOed by both Flamethrower and Flare Blitz and not 2HKOing in return. Gyarados could help fix this problem. Gyara packs Intimidate and fears only the rare Thunderpunch. Otherwise, Infernape is nothing but setup fodder.
It's also worth noting that your team is very slow; Life Orb Starmie, Gengar, fast taunters, and basically anything with a scarf could potentially cause you problems, even with Extremespeed. Perhaps consider adding a scarf user of your own.
Lastly, I would consider using T-bolt over Discharge on Porygon2. 30% Paralysis, while pretty good, is still unreliable, and you may end up paralyzing something you want to poison (Blissey, I'm looking at you) or vice versa. Instead, I would focus on spreading one status as opposed to both. Of course, these are just suggestions, and you seem to have success with the team as is.

Thanks!

Ape is a pain, but Mesprit is very, very physically bulky. Mesprit takes little from even a Banded U-turn, and Flare Blitz normally can give me an out to something for fodder + Bring in Luke + SD + Sweep. Dos I kinda want to try over Metagross, and I;m still testing lots of stuff in the 6th slot.

While the team seems to lose to fast things, P2 is normally bulky enough to take anything Scarfed, and then switch out to the appropriate counter (this team thrives on Synergy). I'm also testing Scarfed Rotom-W, working nicely.

I used Tbolt + Twave for a while, but dual status is nice, and Discharge is lulz for if you Trace Serene Grace.

However, an Ape counter is needed, and the reason I don't really fear them as much is because a. They are normally leads, and b. I can play mindgames with Lucario making them think about switching or taking the ES.

Porii, this team is part mine. You need to credit me for spiritombs improved moveset, and SD lucario. Also, this team was on pokemon experts server, not team uber. Also, though wailord was beast, scarf rotom-w worked better, so you need to fix that.

As well, i was the one who did the majority of the laddering with this team, you are ripping me off and not even giving me the slightest credit.

Wow, great balanced team here. Best i have ever seen in 4th gen. I wish i had thought of it. Although yeah, wailord is kinda outclassed by a lotta other stuff. However all the other uus/nus are totally necessary.

I would replace wail with rotom-w. Even though his hpump hits much softer, he has significantly more bulk, a good deal more resistences, and STAB tbolt and shadow ball.

Is there any truth in what gcm29 is saying? if so then you should give him some credit.

Ok cool. I would aslo go ahead and update it in the OP. I find that it makes it easier on people who view the thread for the first time if the OP is up-to-date.

Spiritomb has 92. base sp. attack, but yeah I don't see how it ohkoes everything.

You see, it isn't just the STAB shadow ball that does it. IT is STAB shadow ball + STAB shadow sneak for finishing that is the magic. As well as more than enough bulk, and no weaknesses so that it can easyily fire off 2 shadow balls and a sneak b4 dying.

This is what makes it the most creative (imo) anti-lead i have ever seen. HOW was this overlooked? Gratz to you porii for having a brain. Gratz to you gcm29 for modifying it too.

In many ways it is a BETTER machamp, i mean, it beats the late-metagame colbur azelf, and due to the lack of weaknesses has more pseudo-bulk. I swear my team that got to #13 woulda shot way higher with this kinda lead!
