The Door of Time [Ocarina of Time RMT]

DOOR OF TIME

This is a RMT based on the Legend of Zelda [Ocarina of Time], so before reading and suggesting a replacement pokemon, keep in mind that is has to fit the theme of the six sages.
Okay, so this has been a fairly successful team, I understand that the best teams on here are battle hardened under months of practice, but I believe this could be an exception. I have battled 15 battles and won every one (no, they weren't like +1 -30 battles). Anyways, on with the team!

Rauru
Thundurus @ Life Orb
Nature: Modest
Ability: Prankster
Ev's: 224 Hp / 252 Sp. Atk / 32 Spe
-Thunder Wave
-Taunt
-Volt Switch
-Hidden Power [Ice]

Okay, so Rauru is the first sage in Ocarina of Time. He is the first sage you meet and has the same crazy mustache that Thundurus has, and they both have somewhat similar facial features. In battles, I normally lead with Thundurus because of his somewhat reliable bulk and his amazing ability, Prankster. Taunt and Thunder Wave deal with stall and offense at the same time (even though Taunt was nerfed to three turns I still manage to make use of it), and once it used the appropriate move it flies off into the sunset cloaked in electricity. If the opposing pokemon is a valuable member of the opponents team (like a Chansey/Blissey, Latios, Ferrothorn, ect...) then I will switch into Impa who will then trap or KO them with the appropriate move. The EV spread is meant to maximize bulk, but I put in the speed to outspeed all Breloom and Cloyster then OHKO them with Hidden Power or Volt Switch. It also comes in handy if I let the opponent set up a +3 Haxorus or some other thing that will absolutely cream my team. Overall, Rauru is a very important team member.

Saria
Virizon @ Leftovers
Nature: Timid
Ability: Justified
Ev's: 252 Sp. Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Hp
-Giga Drain
-Focus Blast
-Hidden Power [Ice]
-Calm Mind

Saria is Link's childhood friend and is seen from the very beginning from the game. She has bright green hair and gives Link his first ocarina. It is also thought that she has a crush on Link. Okay, I cheated here. I know that Roserade is the best option here, but it can't fill the niche that this team needs. Virizon has the typing that allows it to blast through walls, yet posses significant bulk. If Virizon comes in on a special attacker, I usually get two Calm Mind's up before I begin my sweep. Giga Drain is used over Energy Ball because of the very small difference in base powers and because it heals you for half the damage done, which can be a lot with a couple Calm Mind's under your belt. Focus Blast is there because of its raw power, dealing about 50% more damage then Giga Drain at the cost of some accuracy. Hidden Power is for any dragons who think they can come in and ruin my sweep. Another thing that is fun is Virizon lets me play mind games with my opponents. If a Dark type attack is aimed at Nabooru then I switch into Virizon (letting Justified activate), and watch my opponent switch into a physical wall who thinks I run Swords Dance or some other physical set, then I let rip a Focus Blast to KO it. Virizon can also act as a Gliscor check, who gives Darunia trouble.

180px-DaruniaTWW.png

Darunia
Conkeldurr @ Leftovers
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Guts
Ev's: 120 Hp / 252 Atk / 136 SpD
-Drain Punch
-Mach Punch
-Stone Edge
-Bulk up

Darunia is the leader of the gorons, a race of mountain dwellers who posses superior strength. You help Darunia remove King Dodngo from Dodongo's Cavern, then release the trapped gorons before they are eaten by a fire breathing dragon. Conkeldurr is one valuable player on this team. It has the ability to stop all sandstorm teams cold with a little support from Virizon or Thundurus to eliminate any Gliscor. Drain Punch is kind of like Giga Drain on Virizon, except it is coming off of a mammoth attack stat that could be boosted even further with Bulk Up. Once Conkeldurr gets in a Bulk Up, it turns into a sweeper like Snorlax, it will slowly defeat your team in an inevitable sweep. Drain Punch is a nice way of keeping Conkeldurr alive while dealing damage, Mach Punch deals with Excadrill and helps revenge kill some things, Stone Edge deals with any flying types like Thundurus who think they can set up a Nasty Plot, and Bulk up does a nice job of sweeping. Guts naturally makes Conkeldurr my status absorber, overlooking Will-O-Wisp and getting rid of the user before it burns anyone else.

150px-RutoTWW.png
130.gif
150px-RutoTWW.png

Ruto
Gyarados @ Life Orb
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Intimidate
Ev's: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 SpD
-Waterfall
-Earthquake
-Ice Fang
-Dragon Dance

Ruto is the princess of the Zora people, an aquatic half fish race. Ruto is also Link's fiance, asking for his hand in marriage when he rescued her from the belly of Jabu Jabu, a large fish who seems to be important. In battle, not much has changed with Gyarados, except the addition of Ferrothorn. The idea is simple, switch in on something that has no way of touching Gyarados (the list is long, Scizor, Conkeldurr, Heatran, ect...), and set up a Dragon Dance. After a Dragon Dance, the only thing fast enough to outspeed Gyarados are positive base 130< speed pokemon like Jolteon and Deoxys. Waterfall is the biggest joke ever, especially coming off a base 125 attack. Earthquake wrecks electric types who are slower then Gyarados, and Ice Fang is for dragons and grass types. Gyarados also has a nice ability in Intimidate, allowing it to whittle down attack stats for Nabooru to come in and set up. I know that Ruto should be a Vaporeon, but due to the offensive nature of this team, I figured Vaporeon wouldn't be able to keep up.

180px-ImpaTWW.png
461.gif
180px-ImpaTWW.png

Impa
Weavile @ Choice Band
Nature: Jolly
Ability: Pressure
Ev's: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Hp
-Pursuit
-Ice Shard
-Low Kick
-Night Slash

Impa is Zelda's personal caretaker (a.k.a. babysitter), who protects her from Gannondorf for seven years while Link is sealed in the Sacred Realm, disguising her as a Shiekah. Impa also escorted you out of Hyrule Castle after working so hard to avoid all the guards to get to Zelda. Weavile is here to make all those relentless switchers grind their teeth and ragequit, picking off members of a weakened core and dealing ending blows to those dragons who may have set up on me. Pursuit is for SkarmBliss purposes, and all I need to do is predict a Blissey switch and have them both on the field at the same time. That's all, just switch into a Blissey or a Latios/Latias or a weakened pokemon and Pursuit it. Ice Shard is another revenge killing move, dealing with anyone faster then Weavile. Low Kick deals with all those pesky steel types that I don't really want to Pursuit or Ice Shard, and Night Slash is a reliable move with a base power over 40. I was a little shaky using Weavile at first, because I am not really a fan of using Choice Band pokemon, but once I used him I realized what I was missing.

180px-NabooruTWW.png
380.gif
180px-NabooruTWW.png

Nabooru
Latias @ Leftovers
Nature: Timid
Ability: Levitate
Ev's: 252 Hp / 252 Spe / 4 SpD
-Substitute
-Calm Mind
-Recover
-Dragon Pulse

Nabooru is the leader of the Gerudo tribe, a group of all women, only once every 100 years is a male Gerudo born, and when he is born they follow his rule. Sadly, that baby was Gannondorf. Some followed Gannondorf, but others followed Nabooru. But she was cursed by Koume and Koute and forced to battle Link. Like most other important females, she also is attracted to Link. Sub CM Latias is a very real threat to just about any team with a special attacker, and even more so to opponents who try to stall you out. The idea is relatively simple, switch in on a special attacker, use Substitute, and Calm Mind your way to +6, Recovering along the way. Dragon Pulse is a great attacking move, resisted only by steel types, allowing it to hit everything else. Latias does have problems with Taunt users (Taunt ignores any Subsitiute), and physical attackers that have a super effective move. Other then that, Latias has been my MVP. After two Calm Mind boosts, STAB special attacks can't really break your Substitutes. Once all steel types and pink blobs are out of the way, I bring in Latias and immediately begin setting up. And then it is usually gg.

Well, that's the team, even though it is a theme team it has been very successful. If you read this, don't stop now, go rate the team.

The team looks good. The only issue I have is that I don't think Latias and Gyarados represent Nabooru and Ruto well. But for the sake of the team, I guess they work

Zelda nerd comments:
-Fix the Latias description, its Koume and Kotake, not Koume and Koute
-I think Weavile and Latias should be switched. Weavile is seen as a kind of thief, and Latias is seen as more of a caretaker...
-I agree that Ruto should be a Vaporeon XD
-Include that Darunia can eat Rock attacks. Also, you can call Volvagia by name.

Actual team comments:
-I just don't like the Thundurus set you're running. With Volt Switch as your only STAB, while being weak to Stealth Rock and not having a spinner... It doesn't end well. Change Thunder Wave or Taunt to Thunderbolt, whichever one you need less. And if you need both, run Thunderbolt > Volt Switch.
-Jolteon isn't used much in OU anymore, so its not a huge threat to Gyarados, while Scarf Rotom is rampant.
-With Weavile, I would use Ice Punch > Night Slash. It keeps the Dragons in check more, and most Lati@s switch out when seeing Weavile, so Pursuit hits them harder than Night Slash would.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone!

You Taunt the opposing lead pokemon, Volt Switch into Weavile, and either Pursuit or Low-Kick it. (Low Kick KO's Ferrothorn after damage from Volt Switch).

You could probably try Empoleon over Gyarados. Empoleon would bring a valuable dragon resist as well as stealth rock both of which would help your team greatly. It also fits the theme well.
Okay, in all fairness, Ruto is more a sea serpent then a penguin. And I don't need a resistance to dragons, I have Latias (the fastest dragon type in OU) and Weavile (Ice Shard KO's everything).
I think you should try a scarf Tyranitar set over Weavile. Weavile makes half your team stealth rock weak, which is never good. Tyranitar while an effective pursuit user, also has the ability to take on weather teams that you struggle with, drought in particular.
I admit Drought is a little troublesome, but Sandstorm would not be appreciated every battle, and CB Weavile's Pursuit is stronger then ScarfTar's. With Sandstorm up, Gyarados would take 16% passive damage every turn, and all my Leftovers users would have their effects negated. You should try battling with the team, I uploaded a code so you could import it.
-I think Weavile and Latias should be switched. Weavile is seen as a kind of thief, and Latias is seen as more of a caretaker...

Neither of whom can come in on any dragon type attack. Every time a dragon comes in you're going to lose a Pokemon, and if it's Hydreigon who can't be pursuited by Weavile you might as well just forfeit. Choice Banded dragons such as Haxorus and Dragonite don't even have to lock themselves into outrage as d-claw / dual chop will ohko or 2hko every member of your team. Not to mention Weavile is stealth rock weak and takes damage from spikes which are extremely common, so the most it can do to most dragons(barring Lati@s) is force them out once or twice.
After losing a pokemon to a Draco Meteor, that gives me the oppertunity to set up a Dragon Dance/Bulk Up, but namely a Calm Mind. Virizon was made to absorb all those Draco Meteors, and it does a fantastic job of doing so. When making a team I was more concerned about Outrages and such. Rest assured, even without a steel type, my team can handle dragons. I'm looking for things that I don't have a way of getting around, like mainly a Spinner that could fit on the team.

Virizion can't take multiple Draco Meteors.
Honestly you just aren't playing the right people if this team is winning 15 in a row.

I agree with Fried Reys and Stunt. You really should consider Empoleon>Gyrados to fix your severe dragon weakness.

I concur empoleon is a lovely penguin that could help you out with it's bulk and versatility. Plus IMO gyarados is played too much let the
penguin have some face time here!
